I found the wiki invaluable for this game btw.......without it i doubt i would have gone very far.
The thing is there will be keys dropped by certain people only after a bunch of certain conditions have been met, the thing is no one tells you those conditions in game.
You'll also find that certain sections of the game and certain characters only appear when the world tendency is fully white or black in each world.
| spoiler wrote: | | Just stab ostrava as soon as you meet him, don't bother saving his sorry arse, when you can just stab him and get the same result. |
Also, i will be happy to answer any questions if you get stuck or can't work out who needs to be set on fire next
The main tip is this - don't piss anyone important in the nexus off (yet) !!!! very important, this includes doing rolls over their head and leaping to your death on top of them, this also includes picking up your joystick off the ground and the R2 button going off and slicing someone in the nexus in half.
Once a character is gone, they are gone for good. If you kill the guy who sells you magic, then no more magic for you.....

Wow. using the royal is a shit-ton easier than the knight. Note for beginners, to use magic (eg soul arrows) you have to equip a catalyst. Many FAQs mention using magic but few state the basic need to use a catalyst (wand) nor does the manual as far as i can tell. Anyway soul arrows blast the shit out of everyone, and make the game much easier to start off with. i did enjoy the combat with the knight however, can you level up a royal to be decent in combat or is it counterproductive? _________________

I still have my fingers crossed that this may arrive this week from Play-Asia, but I have to admit-- doubts are setting in!
Has anyone else who ordered from Play-Asia received their shipment yet? _________________

Also, dont put your controller on the ground when in front of NPC. R2 and L2 will trigger the sword (which is incredibly annoying). _________________

my royal is proficient in both combat and magic, it is handy later on when you fireball them with one hand and run in and belt them with the sword in your other hand, becomes very efficient.
Everyone remember you can dual wield swords also

Something that has always annoyed me with the PS3 controller (my sixaxis just needs to be breathed on to trigger L2) is th sensitivity of these triggers, watching movies and placing it down, fast forward / rewind.
Anyway, good tip.

yeah that r2 or l2 thing led to the death of a dude in the nexus for me, luckily he was a nobody or it could have been a disaster, also if you piss off a guy in the nexus all his followers automatically turn against you.............but yeah very important that...once someone is gone, they are gone from the game, be wary.
Could lead to a restart even in if you were close to finishing if you accidentally kill the wrong dude.
has anyone belted the monumental with a sword yet, i'm still not game to do it to find out what happens

Not I - had better arrive today for the weekend or my entire 2 week TAFE break will have been a wasted opportunity. CD-wows delay on shipping uncharted 2 / fallout 2 goty is also frustrating. As posted previously, I'm doubting the value of pre-ordering online, the delay in getting the thing shipped (let alone arriving) is fast eroding the $$ saved.
EDIT: 1:40pm and postie brings only mail. not happy _________________

Not wrong
I was really hoping it would get here by now, it's been over a week! I hope they aren't going to pull a 2-week job on us again, that'll be annoying. _________________

Wish this thread would go away. Keeps tempting me to buy the stupid game! The 'it's balls hard' is like a challenge for me to beat the stupid thing. _________________ Shin J Leon.

Haha I'm a bit masochistic like that too.
Have never shied away from a challenge, it's too seductive! _________________

Speaking of challenge anyone here beat Contra: PS2, SNES (Super Probotector), NES?
I almost nailed the PS2 classic, still own it. Last stage, madness.
Anyway I cannot wait for this game, something about it screams out to me. _________________

I just ordered deluxe edition on Estarland.com for about US$68 + US$14 shipping. Seems to be cheaper than Play Asia.
Any bros who want this can get it from there. Cheers!

Oh my god this game is so much easier when you pick Royal as your class.
I went Knight first and really liked the extra armour but some areas were really difficult especially enemies with projectiles.
Having a mix of projectile and a sword is such a blessing. Ranger has similar properties. I had to adjust a bit since Royal has a lot less armour than Knight but it didn't take too long. _________________

Still no play-asia shipment has arrived. Mucho sadface-o.
Anyone else had better luck? Having finished Uncharted and getting through Brutal Legend I'm finding myself itching for Demon's Souls! _________________

I'm sure it was mentioned earlier in this thread that the US release had an optimized english translation and fixed a few bugs/glitches, so it would probably be better spending the few extra dollars on that should you choose.
My copy shipped from Play-asia today, should have it by the end of the week, can't wait!

Still waiting on my VG+ order. I hope the long wait is because I'm in Perth and not as a result of some kind of postage failure...

My copy from Play-Asia shipped on the 9th Oct. Seems there's a bit of a wait (though it has only been 8 business days...) so try not to get too excited for this weekend, though I do hope you're lucky! _________________
