Just a post to check that i am not alone here...
I went to play Speedball 2 last weekend and it kep telling me i could only play the demo even though i owned it. So this weekend i thought i would redownload after deleting off my HDD. However it seems that MS has deleted all record of Speedball 2 from the Arcade, on Xbox and xbox.com. Anyone else experience this?
This is rather poor form from MS, considering i am the owner of said game, i should be able to get it from MS in future if there are any issues... Also why "delete" a game with out warning...
[edit] Turns out Wiki has the answer... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/index.html?curid=12469728 Now i need to work out how to get it back.
On a side note, considering the infinite storage world of the internet and all that. Is there any real reason for MS to delete game from their catalog?

I think this is your answer
From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zoo_Games
| Quote: | | On May 7, 2009 it was announced by Zoo Publishing that the company had acquired the rights from New World IP to publish and distribute Empire Interactive's entire catalog which includes titles such as Big Mutha Truckers and Flatout Head On.[4] The rights were acquired from New World IP who had recently purchased Empire's intellectual property as the company went into administration.[4] |
IP is now belonging to someone else and they delisted the games off XBL and haven't redistributed back... That is what I just come up with... _________________ "Work hard now, play even harder later"

Thanks for that... but considering i "own" a copy of speedball 2, the rights shouldn't matter, should it?
Is this the future of digital distribution?

There should be no reason whatsoever why you can’t play a game you paid for. From what I understand you can call Microsoft support and have them give you a code to re-download your game. At least that’s how it works for Hexic, but the same should apply here.
