I don't really care which characters there are. Then again, I rarely care what the character looks like, I just wanna play it!

I'm a bit worried after listening to an E3 podcast where the game was criticised as being obviously an upscaled DS game. One of the guys who had played the game on the show-floor said that the graphics were washed out, with jaggies, etc.

Not good to hear.

Hasn't she learned to look after herself by now? Did all that fighting in Smash Bros. teach her nothing?

You know, I don't think Princess Peach was ever really kidnapped and is having an affair with Bowser. Why else would Toad keep telling you the Princess is in another castle, but fail to direct you to the correct castle? He's obviously covering for her...

Anyway, I'm not terribly impressed with this game so far, but no doubt there will be countless announcements between now and the game's release, with loads of new features added. Nintendo often play their cards close to their chest and will want to steadily build excitement up until the holidays. I'm sure we won't be disappointed.

I don't think you're too far off Charly, but still if it's a 'traditional' storyline, I just thought there would at least be a Red Toad, Toadette, Toadsworth, you know, well known 'good people' to assist the Bros., and as Yoshi is in the game as 'ride-able' Toad's are the only other good ones left to assist, but still, we've never seen these 2 Toad's before...

Sometimes Macka we gotta take these things with a grain of salt, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, regardless I'm sure it will be lot's of frantic fun (in multi-player), and still offer a challenge solo
Fret not till you make your own playable judgement icon_smile.gif

Oh and this just as an aside, does anyone else think that it's about time that some of the supplementary Mario series characters like Waluigi, Daisy, Bowser/Bowser Jr/the enemies, Luigi & Peach get their own series of games?
If Wario, Donkey Kong & Yoshi can do it, why can't others?
I was gonna include Toad's in there also, but am unsure how they could be expanded on, then again Toadsworth and Toadette bring a whole different dimension to my argument. So we'll mark the Toad's as unsure icon_razz.gif

I just think it would be cool if some of these character's were 'fleshed out' more, instead of "Oh look a new game, Mario's the hero, and there's those other people"...

Cause I'm a fan of Waluigi and his lankiness & Bowser Jr's rowdiness but was disappointed they weren't even worthy of a playable position in Brawl, while Wario was (and am soo glad he was btw)
just my 2 cents

Super Princess Peach is too good. Need more of that.
Luigi's Mansion deserves a lot more praise than it gets.

So yes, more non-Mario Mario games would be nice.

When the Toads talk does anyone just die... but in a good way? I swear the way they screech has me in giggles all the time. It can't be just me.

The two Toads in NSMBWii doesn't bother me ... no online multiplayer and no friends. Hah! Heh... heh. *sigh*

It's happened, those contributors over at IGN have named the 2 toad's, after seeing the title I was turned off originally, but after reading the article those names make sense, yet I'd probably just call them the Toad Bros.

Introducing Yvan and Wolley

But they're not the official names, though, right?

I think they're quite ... different. I'm just trying to be polite here! icon_wink.gif

I doubt I would have thought of those names for a coupla toad's, anyway.

^ yeah no where near official, but like many they thought that the Toad's needed to be more than just standard Blue and Yellow Toad, needed character etc etc

the names make sense to me in relation to the Mario universe (like mentioned in the article how Wario is the M from Mario flipped upside down), but no, the names aren't official, and I doubt they ever will be

That was a game that could have been awesome but was ruined by some fucking stupid decisions in the game design process.

Seriously like the first 5 worlds provide absolutly 0 challenge, and forcing you to go back and collect every single toad just to fight the final boss is fucking stupid.

It was fun, untill it told me I had to go back and collect every single fucking toad in every level...

... that said I'm currently in the process of replaying every level to collect every toad so it must have some kind of hook icon_razz.gif

This game is looking amazing. When it was first announced I was pretty bummed. I enjoyed NSMB DS but it was way too easy, and the first footage of this looked really pretty weak. Almost like a multiplayer cashin.

But now, based on videos and reports, it looks like a true effort. Supposedly a return to the difficulty and secrets of classic Nintendo Mario platformers (see the Super Moves Trailer), a return of many classic enemies, an overworld system much more like Mario 3 and not the crappy NSMB DS overworld, and Miyamoto's description of the Super Guide sounds absolutely perfect; enough to help those who need it without ever intruding on those who dont.

I'm crazy pumped.

Looking really good there. Why the heck can't they do something like this with Sonic? Maybe Nintendo should make the next Sonic game.

Crazier things have happened.

Wow that was a better trailer than what we saw at E3. Although the focus on the E3 demo was to showcase the fun of multiplayer. This trailer shows a lot of old-skool tricks and what looks to me like SMB3 like jump physics and some advanced classic SMB tricks galore. What really wowed me is how widescreen really improves the 2D platforming experience. Much like fighting games, it doesn't feel like you are looking thru a keyhole anymore.

I'm crazy pumped too now!
