I just finished Season 3 and I absolutely loved it. I had heard that a lot of people were disappointed at the lack of a big finale like the last two seasons but I thought it was great anyway. I really need to grab the box set
Now I can't wait for Season 4! _________________

Good episode, but one thing I am wondering.

Also that scene with the trinity killer waiting for the girl was priceless. I have not seen him in ages and i am so glad to see him return to tv. |

Probably your codecs. Was it the FLV or the avi? _________________

it's the AVI - and it seems it's only an issue with my PS3 - there's just no sound for the episode.
XBox doesn't recognise the codec at all, but my VCR played it fine (from the USB input).
no idea what the PS3's issue was, never had that before.
i wish i'd waited now. it's pretty s**t quality imo, and like NP says, now it's a month until the next episode - though i'll probably DL the "proper" version when that airs too.
it was a damn fine episode though. i don't know why, but Trinity strikes me as possible the most evil character they've had on the show to date. he's just... i dunno, creepy.
can't wait for more. _________________

i have an LG RC389H VCR/DVD Recorder which has a USB port.
it wasn't a required feature when i bought it, i just needed a VCR, wanted a DVD recorder, and this was a nice, cheap option - it just turned out useful in this instance. _________________

I was tempted too but this is what stopped me. There's no way I'd put myself through that! _________________

Finally got around to watching the third season, spent all day yesterday doing so and I have to say I liked it a lot better than the second season. First > Third > Second IMO. _________________

Yep. The girl in season 2 ruined it somewhat. She was completely unlikeable.
The only disappointing thing about season 3 was the conclusion of the Skinner storyline. It felt...anticlimactic.

I just finished watching season 3 and I agree with the above post. Season 2 was spoiled by Lila, who really pissed me off, but I guess she got hers in the end.
I'm a little dissapointed that Dex doesn't seem to be doing as much stalking/killing as he did in the first season, he spends more time trying to solve interpersonal problems than he does cleaning up Miami. Also, I'm not sure I buy Miguel Prado being a killer, and yet never doing anything violent until Dexter shows him how to do it. You think if he had sociopathic tendancies and homocidal urges, he would have done something by now, or at least had them manifest in some way. It's not like he ever beat his wife or was outwardly violent, he even stole the story of pushing his father down the stairs, and yet he committed a crime of passion by killing the defence attorney who was giving him issues..
Overall, I wasn't disappointed with season 3 and i look forward to what twists season 4 has in store. _________________

The show was amazing until Lila got into Dexter's unlocked car which never would have been, opened his unlocked glovebox which never would have been, and accessed his GPS to find the shack where Doakes was being held, which is absurd because Dexter followed his way there in the first place, not GPSed it, and if he had he sure as frak would have wiped the entry afterwards. Season three was a snorefest. I officially announce this conversation over.

He did follow his GPS in one episode didn't he? Just because he followed someone there doesn't mean he knew how to get there easily.

He followed a car - why does he need directions? _________________

And you can't use a GPS to give you directions to a swamp shack well off the beaten track. We've also seen his meticulous, obsessive side many, many times, even if he had used it he would have removed the entry from it.
