Bit of a bump, Insomniac have release the European box art for the game
Looks alright. One thing i have always wondered about is the name changes that have occured with the Ratchet and Clank game between regions. All the new series games have Future removed from the title and the previous games are almost known as completely different things. Anyone know why? _________________

That cover art just made my day. As for the naming, I have no idea. All my R&C's are from the USA region since 1. _________________

I read that the reason was because the word "Future" is difficult to translate to some languages. So to avoid any localization problem, they decided to drop it completely.

A CE is being released for PAL Territories. So far it contains Artbook and Insomniac Moon/Museum Pack. EB has the RRP down as $109.95 which is the same as the normal game and does not say anything about exclusivity to them so there may be an opportunity to price match when released. _________________

I think I might pick this up, since I enjoyed Tools of Destruction so much. Plus the villain is one of my favourites. _________________

JB have the collectors edition as well: here. Price will be $99. Standard edition i believe will be $89.
Heres some more info on it:
Looks great, there has never been a collectors edition of a Ratchet game yet so i was surprised to hear about this one. I'll be picking it up. _________________

The Euro boxart is alright, but I think we've been soundly beaten by the U.S:
I'd almost consider importing to get my hands on that. _________________

^ By the looks of it, the Ratchet/Clank split face boxart is going to be used for the collectors edition:
The box art that I post a while ago might be the standard edition boxart, or at least I am hoping because i really do like the split face boxart. _________________

Definitely going to get this of course, maybe not on launch. It might be some time after, and if the CE is still being sold around the time I pick it up, then I'll get it. Looks good. Let's hope that the added PSN content will be released on the PS store for those who end up buying just the standard version. It probably will be. _________________

I don't think there is a tin. From the description it is digipack, which means that it will be like the inFamous SE. _________________

| Kevin Smyth EU Playstation Blog wrote: | The Collector’s Edition will come in a special foldout digipack containing the following:
* A 3D lenticular cover – and this isn’t like the dinosaur ruler you had at school, this features new 3D technology and looks awesome. Check out the video which gives you taste of how it will look, although to get the full effect you will need to check it out in the flesh (and please excuse my foot in the background )
* An Artwork Book with exclusive concept artwork handpicked by Insomniac.
* A PSN Voucher, exclusive to the Collector’s Edition in PAL regions. This allows you to download the stellar Discovery Package, which launches you over to the Insomniac Moon, a special level that resembles the layout of the Insomniac Games’ offices! Scattered through this museum-like level, you will discover a moon’s worth of extra content that didn’t quite make it into the game.

The article also lists where the CE will be available in the various PAL countries, but Australia is listed as TBC. It's pretty safe to say that EB, GAME and JB will all have it seeing as they are already accepting preorders for it though. _________________

Wow. I've never been an enormous fan of the series (I still haven't finished Tools of Destruction), but I think I'd have to go for the Collector's Edition for that awesome split-face Clatchet box art. I'm always up for an art book, too. _________________

It's kinda BS that the you're being charged extra for the 'museum' level. That's the sort of thing that used to automatically come with the game. I remember a similar sort of 'extras' level in... Going Commando I think. It's a shame things turned out this way this generation.
Anyways, I've actually become more interested in this game since I took a step back from the series after Tools of Destruction. It seems like Insomniac have really mixed things up for this new game, and that's exactly what I wanted to see happen. The open world space exploration thing is probably what pushed it over the edge for me. It's a pretty awesome concept.
If you don't know what that is, it's basically like the Windwalker Ocean system, but instead of using a boat to cross the sea to other islands, it's using you spaceship to travel across the galaxy to other planets. At least, that's what I've been led to believe. Sounds very, very cool and a big change from the previous 'watch a loading screen' way of moving from level to level.
Also, what's with the box art love? That angry half-face thing is all kinds of generic. The EU art is at least a little dynamic, but hey, whatever floats your boat. _________________

Can't agree with you more, that was an extra in both Locked & Loaded, and Up Your Arsenal (and even Secret Agent Clank had something similar). But for the moment I'm giving Insomniac the benefit of the doubt, I'm certain I read a comment from them on the PS Blog where they said it's still unlockable for those that don't preorder. Getting the preorder code just unlocks the moon from the get-go, whereas the rest of players will either have to get there using a crazy method (such as standing on that pedestal at 2am in a certain planet from R&C2), or 100% the game. _________________

Err we are getting the same thing as Europe just with our ratings logo on it as we are technically part of SCEE. _________________

Yep, Insomniac have confirmed this so that's good to see. I think it requires a 100% completion to unlock, which is fine with me. I don't stop playing R&C games until I've seen everything there is to see and that won't change with A Crack in Time. _________________

I must say, that is one cool cover. That said, who sits around looking at the covers on games? The only time I look at mine is when they're on the shelf before I buy them. _________________

I was browsing Games and EB's website, and it seems that Ratchet has been delayed a week. It was originally slated for the 30th of October here, but won't be released until the 5th of November. _________________
