I was waiting for the train today. Before my train came, there was a train passing by without stopping on the platform and as soon as it left, there was a lot of white small fluffy feathers flying around near me.

About a metre away, a young woman spotted a dead bird. First of all, she was saying "oh my god, oh my god, oh my god, it's dead? is it? omg, it's dead!!!" very very loudly, then hurry up and got on her mobile, called a lot of people telling how she was near a dead bird. It sounded like she was calling everyone on her phone. After finishing on her phone, she talked to her friend, who she ignored for around 15 minutes, and still talked about the bird and said "omg, it's dead"

I know the bird had died but was her action really that necessary?

I was once standing on the corner of flinders and elizabeth st waiting to cross when about 4 pidgeons landed just infront of us on the road.. the lights were red and the cars were slowing down to stop and 3 of the 4 pidgeons flew away.. the fact that the 4th continued to stay there as the car as slow as a car can get just before stopping crushed it making a styrafoam(sp?) sound.. about 7-8 was with us when we saw it happened and i broke out in laughter.. took about 2hrs for me to stop.

sure doesn't look too good being an animal and all but i instantly thought of it was a pidgeon mafia >.>

---

i work in a place where help is provided to those who need it, more of a half welfare, half justice centre where people can go for lawyers/corrections etc. while there are some genuine people who do need help, it kinda urk's me to see people wonder in who are obviously taking advantage of the system, it's ultimately up to the workers but seeing someone come in everyday for a 30 dollar coles card only to see the mother with 2 children come in on the friday and the worker having none left leaving quietly while the one who's been taking them this whole time getting verbal to the worker because she had ran out giving the majority to him... *sighs* some people.

I wish some of these people were put down themselves, or at least had some sense knocked into them before they decided to take responsibility for the life of another living creature.

Kyle, you have every right to be distressed, angry, hell - outrageous about this situation, especially when there's other factors that are already pulling you down. Don't feel bad about venting it. And certainly don't feel bad about expressing it to your family, regardless of how insensitive they may be. I hope you can work out whatever else is bothering you and find people perhaps outside your family to offer you support.

well go the setup config, how can u go wrong?
its either going to be static 480p or 1080i , if not either try fiddling ith the switch in the actual insertion dongle.

What he means is go into the setup on your 360 and change the settings in there. Most likely you need to switch it over to HDTV and 1080P or something. That or there's something up with the cable, console, or the connectors on your tv.

Grr roar. I was so pumped I got my DS working on wifi, but that was only when I was in the room with the router. Doesn't work more than 15 metres away (like in my room).

That's OK I thought, until I tried my brother's DS. Full bars anywhere in the house.

I'd just shrug it off but this is my second DS Lite after I dumped my previous one for.. having shitty wifi icon_sad.gif

^ bill him back for your time.
i've seen it work on occasion - but usually only for provider tradies, not private tradies. so if you're waiting for a sparky from Western Power (substitute for local electricity provider) or a gas-man from Alinta (substitute local gas provider) and they don't show within a reasonable period, or don't call to re-schedule, you can sometimes make a claim for time lost.
i only know because we put one in a few weeks ago to Western Power.

---
for me, Telstra is pissing me off, and to a lesser degree, iiNet.
i wanted to change my landline phone provider from Telstra, to iiNet. no worries, the local exchange has an iiNet hub we'll do that right away.
a month later i get a bill from Telstra including the period i "swapped" over.
get an iiNet invoice the next day, and it doesn't appear at all there.

i ring iiNet who say "yeah, that's weird, i see your request here... oh, apparently Telstra rejected the taking of that number."

would've been nice for iiNet to let me know that Telstra won't relinquish my number, and as for Telstra... wtf?

My family's (then) 20-year-old cat needed to be put down when I was 13. It was shattering; but I had a chance to say goodbye and time to cope with it and think it over, as he had been sick for about three months before we decided that making him endure it any longer was too cruel to do. He had been on three different prescriptions at the time, including laxatives and pain killers, and he was also fighting stomach cancer for the second time. We thought he could pull through anything, but when he stopped eating, walking, and sleeping, we figured that something had to be done for him; we were going to have him put down a week from then, the appointment had been scheduled; but he went downhill so fast, we had to have him put down that day.

PS -- We must look pretty foolish to people who don't like cats that are reading this thread icon_wink.gif.

I decided to start playing Warhawk again.I played for a while, then the internet disconnected during my favourite match.

I went into the longeroom and watched Hulk Hogan's Celebrity werstling.I come back to play Warhawk and the servers aren't respoinding.

I played one or two matches a few months ago, but apart from that I haven't played it in like a year.So it's annoying to start playing again and have so much trouble playing the stupid thing on the first night I start playing again.

Trying to relax and unwind watching dvds with many distractions

1) My pain in the arse of a sister annoying and expecting me to fix her laptop. I can diagnose the problem (ie: her cd/dvd burner drive is cactus), yet she doesn't like it and expects me to keep looking for whats REALLY wrong with it icon_confused.gif. I'm the guru so i should be able to fix it.... i'm like yeah pass me a magic wand and i'll make it work again icon_confused.gif icon_lol.gif icon_evil.gif

2) My dad and his drinking, there's drinking to unwind, drinking to escape reality, drinking to be 'more entertaining'. Unfortunetly i think my dad just likes drinking and being a dickhead icon_mad.gif, his antics while under the influence are a large part as to why i rarely drink and if i do it's in very small doses.

It's all good and well to be moaning about how disgusting it is to have animals put down etc etc. but how many of you are out there going to your local pound and adopting and caring for as many animals as you can? None? Thought so.

I hate to see animals put down but it's a harsh reality. You should see how many farmers shoot dogs because they are no good at sheep herding.

Personally the thing I find disgusting about the post is that you can come online to a forum of strangers and rubbish your mum like that. Regardless of what she did, she had the best of intentions and I'm willing to bet you don't work at the moment and she helps support you.

Believe me mate, 3 months or 3 years it doesn't get any easier. I split with my missus of 4 years only a couple of months ago. Only thing I've found that helps is to keep yourself busy with anything you can.

Don't make assumptions. How would you know where any of us got our pets from? For your information, every dog we've owned was adopted from the RSPCA.

He's upset, and I can relate to that. Maybe you haven't had similar personal issues (see, I can make assumptions too), but pets can help people through tough times more than anything else. I'm sure he realises his mum had the best of intentions, but right now, he's upset and is entitled to be. Show a little more respect.

So this idiot comes into work tonight... 5 minutes before we closed...

runs past all the 6 packs of beer, walks into the large fridge where the slabs are, then opens the slab and takes a 6 pack out.... then of course knocks the bloody slab over on the ground, about 8 bottles SHATTER......

Of course he didn't tell us any about this at the time... we just got an unpleasant surprise a few minutes later..

So then because the store had closed now, I couldn't get the mop, so I had to clean up this HUGE puddle of beer and shattered glass with bloody paper towels.... Which took AGES!

Eventually my dim witted workmate thought it might be a good idea to come and help me clean it up since it was already 15 minutes past the time we should have walked out the door.

The first thing he does is pick up a piece of glass and cut himself.... bloody hell, so then i was stuck by myself again to clean this mess up...

Then I ran out of paper towels.... So eventually I found an old tissue box hidden at the back of a cupboard that I used to clean the rest up...

OF COURSE, the first tissue happened to contain a MASSIVE spider! After I survived that ordeal I had to went back to soaking up the beer with my tissues... Finally the floor was dry....

Then I walked down to the front of the shop to grab a plastic bag to put all the paper towels in, when I heard a bang, and saw that once again my dim witted friend, knocked a can of Vodka off the shelf... it had a tiny split so liquid was firing out of it like a water pistol...

He just stood there looking at it, so I had to run and smother it with a plastic back as quick as possible, which caught most of it, but there was another puddle, thankfully I cleaned that up pretty quickly.

So we made it out of the store... and were locking the front door, when we noticed that the workmen from the night before (we are getting renovated) just happened to bent the door lock completely out of shape... so we spent another 5 minutes banging and kicking it back into a workable shape...

The door was closed.

Then with 2 plastic bags full of rubbish I went to take them to the bin outside.. Where the bin was overflowing with rubbish... So... I then I had to wander back into the main store and find the main general bin for this rubbish.

When I got there my workmate said 'oh I forgot the other garbage bag...' Then I made it very clear to him that I did not care anymore. And convinced him to forget about it.

We left the store... but of course by then both front doors had been padlocked completely... so we were forced to find whatever bloody door the Morlock staff use, which we finally found. And we were free.

I got in my car, cranked up Metallica's Master of Puppets and drove home....

ONLY to be pulled over by the police who wanted to check my car... "I'm F@#$@#" I was thinking.... but at this point I didn't care anymore...

All the cops did was check that my car's height was legal, which it was, so I got off scott free.

Then I finally got home, crashed on the couch, and realised that I left my bloody Mars Bar at work.... RAGE!

So then I took maybe one or 2 shots of Smirnoff blue to calm me down, as I explained the whole story to Mum, who literally fell asleep while I was telling the story........ rage.

And that brings me to being in front of my computer writing this...

It would seem that I used all my good luck powers on avoid that needle that almost peirced my foot yesterday... Remember when I said im not normally that lucky? well this proves it...

Worst last hour of work.. ever.
