Really great work, especially getting all the catalogues up for perusal. Just a slight typo on the 360 bundles at Target with the Pro $475 and the Arcade $375. _________________

Nice work!
Also, Steam is having a weeklong sale on all Paradox Interactive games - 50% off. If you've been looking to get King's Bounty (which I highly recommend to Heroes of Might and Magic fans, cost me only $19Au) or other gems like Penumbra, this is probably the best price you'll see for a while.

Can anyone tell me why Target seem to consistently screw Xbox gamers? It may just be me, but time and again I see their gaming sales and Xbox is either not there or seems to be excluded from certain sales.
This catalogue's example: Rock Band bundles - mega-cheap for all consoles except Xbox 360 (and to mess with us even more, they put the deal on the Xbox page ). _________________ GAMEparents

^Well, looking at how some of those PS3 games are $5 than the Xbox 360 versions, I'd say it evens out for people. _________________

Scans are great!
But Target with Burnout Paradise for PS3 for only 15 bucks is super bargain. It is even cheaper than what I was waiting for as a price drop price. I know there is massive updates patch to get but yeah. That is good. I hope they have it in Broadway Sydney. _________________

Worked out how to get "images" from .pdf files, so I'll have the GameTraders catalogue images up in a tick. _________________

Hi Jo - i know the gaming bargains thread is one of if not the most popular articles on the site so there might be an uproar if too much was changed... but if it saved u time - i would vote for having just the catalogue scans. that would still be brilliant... it would save u from typing out the same games every week. it would be an hour or two that u could spend playing games... either way i think having the list or scans would be enuff and prob don't need both,
keep up the good work! _________________

Hi Arbok,
Yeah, truth be told Bargains can get pretty exhausting for me, and I am getting pretty busy now days with some of my personal goals. But for the time being, I'm more than happy to keep the Bargains with this list/thumbnail combo.
I'll admit I'm a little stubborn in changing Bargains, I wasn't even sure on doing these scans to be honest. For the record, most of them are just taken from the online versions of catalogues. I only manually scanned the JB one and did some things to get the gametraders one up. Bargains has always been manually typed up, but I feel this combo is the next step in expanding the article's popularity.
It suits those who are capped or on dial-up, but is also appealing to those who want all the bells and whistles of the advertisements. And of course there are the EB listings which I get from a special affiliation page, so there would be no other choice but to have text versions.
I am thankful you are considering how I could spend the time playing games instead of typing up these listings. However, while I'll always admit Bargains can be a boring and time consuming job, I still do it with a passion. I love reading the comments people have to say about amazing specials, and I like how I'm considered the "Bargains man" on PALGN. Trust me when I say, while the rewards are little, they're worth the effort I put into the listings each week.
And besides, without the listings I wouldn't have as high a word count as I do each month!! (bring it on Adam and Kim! Yeah!)
But yeah, honestly, thank you for showing some concern. It's that kind of thoughtfulness which keeps me going sometimes, of course I'm starting to head into different territory so I'll end it there. _________________

^If we had a rule that for every dollar someone saves thanks to these threads, they'd send you 10c, then you could retire. :)
Seriously though, it's very much appreciated. Give a man $10 and he thinks he is lucky; save a man $10 and he knows who's to thank.

Yuh, thanks Joseph for all the hard work you put into this thread.
I'm with arbok. I reckon just do catalogue scans, instead of writing the big lists. Its easier and quicker and more enjoyable to look at the pictures of games, than big lists.
Something similar to Ecogamer would be cool. How they just do scans of the catalogues and people comment. _________________

Yeah I agree, I love these articles.
Just grabbed myself Burnout Paradise for $15 :)
I was looking at the v rocker chair + saints row 2, but I decided against it. _________________

Call me old fashioned but I like having just a text writeup of bargains. Straight forward, quick and easy. Its also good when I'm capped which on average is usually every 2 weeks into the billing cycle <_<..
I don't agree with doing stuff similar to eco gamer. If people wanted eco gamer, they would go to ecogamer.
Joseph I truley appreciate the work you put into the bargains everytime they come up. Keep up the good work. _________________

Thanks once again Joseph! Seriously Wii Owners, if you DON'T have Little King's Story yet, you MUST get it for $35. It's brilliant.
Also, that $34 dragon quest on DS at target, is that Chapters of the Chosen? Or am I forgetting a DQ game on DS?

Thanks for all the hard work. Very excited to see that Big W now has the uncharted + controller deal I missed out on previously!
A guy at EB told me this Saturday is the final day of the sale. Anyone know if this is true?

Without Joseph's hard work typing out all the names and prices, I wouldn't be able to bring you the sortable filtered list each week.
So yeah, do please keep the text

Really? I have been noticing the $5/10 difference - when they actually include Xbox, but time and time again Xbox games are excluded from sales at Target. It's only Target too - oh, I know KMart and Big W have their "Wii/DS(and sometimes PS2" sales where the big two are both excluded, but Target seem to be the only ones to continually exclude Xbox on multiplatform stuff.
Offhand, I can think of two general reasons:
* Xbox versions of these products sell better so don't need to be included in the sale.
* Target has something going on that causes them to lower the priority on Xbox. Could be that Sony/Nintendo give them better discounts for mass sale items, or could be a soured deal from a previous time, or something else.
If no one knows, it's no biggie - just been noticing and thought I'd ask. _________________ GAMEparents

In the SORTABLE FILTER LIST, you need to remove the 19.95 games from EB, it’s misleading, you need to trade in other games with it. Otherwise this list is useless... not to be a pain but I am sure EB are scraping by a false advertisement law doing the same thing. Either replace the 19.95 with the real prices or don't bother with them. I think I will stick to Joseph’s list, as always it is accurate and not misleading. Thanks again Joseph.

I'm not always accurate, I do have typos quite often. Though the EB listings are 100% correct at time of publishing since I get them directly off of a special affiliate page PALGN has an account for. _________________

It must have "When you trade in any 2 games" etc. I find that very misleading and annoying if you are looking for 'bargains' but each to their own. EB are shylocks in my opinion with this particular way of advertising. Thanks for your feedback

Oh, I'm not responsible for the sortable filtre list. That's Namarrgon's job. I do have the "when you trade-in X games" in the bargains listings though. _________________
