From the pics of KOFXII it doesnt seem to be par with SFIV.I didnt find it appealing, hopefully on arcades it might look atleast similar to SFIV

I much prefer the high quality, 2D hand-drawn sprites of KOFXII over the '3D on 2D plane' graphics of SFIV. The sprites are brand new, but still retain a bit of the graphical charm SNK fans always loved. Also, comparing the animation between the two, I felt that KOFXII was much more fluid and smooth than SFIV's animation.

from memory, kofxii wasnt so great in the arcades....graphically i could see the pixels so that was a let down and i also couldnt seem to pull off any moves no matter what i did (but then again i probably just suck at it since ive never really played any kof before icon_razz.gif).

For the US maybe. Aussie release date is 27th of August, which totally sucks.

AH well, I'm OK with that as I'll play BlazBlue inbetween now and then (which I should get this week/next).

My concern with the title is the bare-bone basics of it. I hope they have some good single mode content and online modes.

Btw, it's listed at $89.95 for the standard edition and CE edition which is $119.95.

Yeah I don't know, it's listed on some websites. I'm going in to pre-order it today @ EB, so I'll let you know what they say.

I have to say, I'm really looking forward to this game. 1UP put this inteview up the other day and it really looks good -> http://gamevideos.1up.com/video/id/25491

Cheers Leon, that would be good. I keep reading conflicting reports regarding a CE release, so something formal would be good.

I played a fair bit of KOFXII and SF4 and I still find SF4 the better game. Something just feels wrong about KOF, it's like they made the jumping too fast and also travel too far. It's like the normal jump is the long jump from the old games, and the short hop is now normal jump :S

Yeah the sprites are pretty, but the art style is really heavy on the shadows and irks me. As I see it, KOFXII is the new KOF94, hopefully the next games will get the formula and magic of the older games back.

My biggest concern for KOF12 is the netcode. Both Garou and 98UM have horrid netcode in my opinion, I just hope its like BlazBlue. I'm gonna order the US version and should hopefully have the game in a couple of weeks.

I actually had no problem with the jumping whereas I don't really like the floaty 3D fighter syndrome jumping of SF4. I do agree that the shading on the sprites can be pretty intense sometimes, but I'm fine with SNK making more use of the backgrounds interacting with the characters. With BlazBlue sprite shading stays the same even when they go into obviously lighter or darker area.

The one aspect of the game that I'm 50/50 on is the ability for players to use guard break indefinitely and the fact that it does damage. A feature like this just seems like it could give a huge advantage to turtles. Sometimes I think some really defensive players will block most of the time and rely on guard breaks to do a good amount of damage. However, I haven't seen if this is a viable strategy yet since the players I went up against were all aggressive. Hopefully some more of the characters have some nasty mix-ups.

Ooooh new KoF. Sweet. I bet they'll do the console exclusive characters (ala SoulCaliburIV) and adding them as DLC...

I got shortchanged on SCIV, hopefully it'll be different. Also, if Mai is missing, FANS WILL RIOT!

Mai isn't in the roster, but some are thinking her and K' could end up being DLC.

Mostly major fanboys want Mai in the game. I honestly think shes one of the overrated KOF females. Kula and Vanessa are more my cup of tea.

Vice & Mature are my personal KoF lady choices but since they were killed early in the series canon, I only get to see them in dream matches.

Aug. 27 hey? Marked.

Does anyone remember the cheat code in arcade KOF95-- Up B forward C Back A down D , it Unlocked Rugal Bernstein & Saishu kusanagi. I loved playing with Rugal, what a boss he was. Does anyone has a fave boss they did like to play with?

You could never go wrong with the boss team. Also, going against '94 Rugal was absolutely painstaking.

Well after Charly mentioned pre-ordering the special editon, i went into EB before work and asked about it....Special edition contains:

12cm or 14cm(can't remember) figurine of Kyo Kusunagi(for PS3) or Terry Bogard(For 360)
Certificate of authenticity(wtf?I think that's what it said on the screen....sounds odd though)
Art Book(No idea how many pages..)

Now the question is, do i import KoF12 for ~$85 now or wait a month and get the SE(Which will probably be around $120-$140)?

I've heard no word of a SE for the US release of KOFXII, so you guys are lucky.
