Anybody listening to this? They're playing 10 songs from it every day at 10am and at 4pm (so today at 10am it was 100-91, at 4pm it'll be 90-81, etc, etc), then on Saturday and Sunday they are replaying 50 each day (so the final 20 are going to be heard for the first time at about 3pm Sunday).
EDIT:
Top ten:
10: Stairway to Heaven - Led Zeppelin
9: Everlong - Foo Fighters
8: Under the Bridge - Red Hot Chili Peppers
7: Last Goodbye - Jeff Buckley
6: Bohemian Rhapsody - Queen
5: Paranoid Android - Radiohead
4: Love Will Tear Us Apart - Joy Division
3: Hallelujah - Jeff Buckley
2: Killing in the Name of - Rage Against the Machine
1: Smells Like Teen Spirit - Nirvana
The full list is at http://www.abc.net.au/triplej/hottest100_alltime/countdown/cd_01.htm. can't be bothered writing them all out.
Also did anyone vote? I never got around to it / couldn't really choose. _________________

didn't bother to vote either. Surprised One More Time by Daft Punk made it in there, surely based on that they will have two more tracks in the top 100 which is good to see. I hope that alot of recently released songs aren't considered by voters, I'd absolutely hate to see 3-4 Kings of Leon tracks in the top 100. Won't be surprised though, as 3 Jebediah songs made the last all-time top 100 list as they were very new when the last poll was held.
Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit will take it out again. I reeeallly hope that voters didn't follow the advice of the breakfast crew and voted for bloody Rick Astley's Never Gonna Give you Up, what a waste of the world's most popular music poll.

Doesn't Joy Division's Love Will Tear Us Apart usually take these Triple J's Hottest 100?
Interesting list though, no huge qualms at the moment - in fact most if not all of those songs are on my iPod (or were...need to get back onto my PC). _________________

From my understanding, Nirvana won the last hottest 100 of all time poll which was held in 1998. Love will Tear us Apart was voted in at number 16. Up until 1990 (I think), every Hottest 100 poll was actually an all-time poll, and not just for that year itself. In that time, Joy Division - Love Will Tear us Apart was voted in at number 1 every year since it was released.
Hottest 100 all time (98) list:

I'd prefer it if it weren't on the list at all, but I'm glad Sex On Fire is only at 90 and not somewhere really high like I was expecting.
I'm tipping Smells Like Team Spirit to take out the top spot again (though to be honest, I can't think of any other typical Best. Song. Evah. candidates), but I wouldn't put it past 4Chan to Rickroll our arses. _________________ Level 3 | News Hit | Twitter

i voted some real classic songs, can't remember the tracks now, it ended up just being roulette for me, just blindly choosing 10 songs. Was really hard

Everyone who is whining about Sex on Fire is an elitist wanker. If the complaints were just that it hasn't been around long enough to be notable enough for a top 100 then, for sure, thats a good enough point, but damn it if 90% of the people complaining aren't just those people that hate it because its when Kings of Leon 'sold out' and went mainstream or some shit, because they can't like a song all the kids that listen to nova like. _________________

Or maybe they just feel it's not one of the 100 greatest songs of all time. _________________

Or even the band's best song. Not that I've really paid much attention to the band, but they had a really great song probably like four years ago that was much better than any of their recent hits.

I just didn't like Sex Is On Fire - period.
Mind you, I know a lot of people who did so I won't discredit Kings of Leon just because they created a pop song I didn't like. _________________

and

I agree with this. But neither is, say, Skinny Love by Bon Iver, which is also a 2008 song, so its also got that feeling of being too new anyway. But nobody will complain about that one because it doesn't boost their 'I'm not mainstream' points like whining about a popular song would.
Today's lineup was mostly good. I didn't like Heart's a Mess and found Fool's Gold to be kinda boring, but Good Riddance would have been in my top 10 (brings back memories of the end of primary school, and more sadly, the end of Seinfeld ), and How Soon is Now is also great. _________________

Surprised but happy to see Fool's Gold and New Slang in there.
Also? King's of Leon sold out? I thought you had to, you know, be good at some point to sell out... /flamebait
(no, really, I wouldn't know a Kings of Leon song if I heard one) _________________

I'm dissappointed that Coldplay got a place, especially because 'yellow' is not a better song than Heart-Shaped box.
We all know what really counts though, the top 25 is going to be where its at. _________________

W00t, go Gotye, I love that album and I especially love that song. So far it's looking pretty good, I'm glad to see a few tracks on there like Modest Mouse (although I would have gone with Black Cadillacs but hey, I guess they only actually deal with singles or something).
In fact, that's kind of what pisses me off about any sort of compilation like this, you'll generally only see released singles in them when 9 times out of 10 they aren't the best songs on any given album.
Oh well, so long as Butterflies and Hurricanes is in the top 20 as well as Themata in the top 10 I'll be a happy man.

Despite losing nearly all respect for Triple J over the last three or four years I'll be interested to see how the rest of the list turns out.
At least so far there's been a decent amount of variety. I have to lolz at Sex On Fire's inclusion though. I'm only surprised it didn't end up higher.
Paranoid Android for #1 baby, let's do it.

Its nearly always just the most popular song from an album, the one that's also a single, which is dissappointing. It's just like a list of top 100 radio played songs, not really a true top 100.
Also, plussed for awesome taste in music. _________________

This. The only clear exception I can think of is Led Zeppelin's Stairway to Heaven. Amazing to think this was never released as a single.

This arvo's lineup was a pretty eclectic, but interesting one. There's two songs I really like on there in Blister in the Sun and Song 2, but neither of which I'd consider put in a top 10 best songs. _________________

Today's lineup, but in particular this afternoon's lineup of 50-41, has been my favourite set so far. Can't find a thing wrong with it. _________________
