Any interesting stories from the fellow PALGN members about being on tv, radio, newspaper etc, know anyone interesting ?
My story
Basically i auditioned for a role on a Doritos Ad and got it. Filmed for 2 days, great experience. I played the ninja by the way.
My video
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y4JBAQztqvA
Unfortunately the video didn't get selected to appear on the national Doritos ad
and also my best friend back in high school was good friends with Miranda Kerr, so i spoke to her quite abit back in the day. Basically my claim to fame.

That is a pretty awesome ad!
I've been in the local paper for arriving to my formal in a Tank. Not much of a claim to fame but whatever. _________________

There is a scan or photo of Macka's local paper somewhere on here.
I've seen it. _________________

I was trying to stop people from reading it with their head sideways, but I was too late for you LOL at the Fallout Boy line, "Tanks for the Memories." I completely forgot about that. _________________

Haven't done anything on screen but I've been involved in a couple of Channel 31 series doing audio. Not exactly anything to write home about though. I have also worked with (and hung out with members of) Powderfinger, The Whitlams, Midnight Oil, Superheist, Sunk Loto, Full Scale, Frenzal Rhomb, Zed, pre.SHRUNk, Magic Dirt and other bands that I can't remember off the top of my head (or that I've met but not worked with, which is an extra hundred or so, some fairly big ones too).

I've met the guy who killed Lee Tourney on a number of occasions, as I'm from the same town and the killer had worked with my father, and thus was a known 'local'. _________________

I used to work for an OBU, so a lot of people have seen my work, but it's all behind the scenes, so my name isn't out there

I was an extra in all of the scenes filmed at Melbourne University on the SBS show Kick (you can buy me now on DVD). I was interviewed at Triple R (or Triple J?) when I was a kid for something I can't remember. I've been in the local paper a few times, but the one that stands out is the time I was randomly credited as School Captain. Even though I was no such thing. And no such title existed. Go me!
Edit: Now with video!
0.18 - Look, that's me in the jacket to the right with my back to the camera! Honest!
0.43 - I am having a very interesting conversation with Logan in the lower-left of that shot.
0.56 - WHO'S THAT IN THE BACKGROUND? IS IT ME CARRYING THAT BREIFCASE? (it is)
1.11 - LOOK IT'S ME AGAIN BEHIND LAYLA, I GET AROUND.
1.37 - Who's that handsome face in the upper left of the screen? Oh, that's right. It's me.
4.05 - And look, it's me in the far background yet again, awkwardly running. My acting skills are pervasive indeed.
There are other bits, but I don't want to embed tons of videos. These give you a good idea of how large a massive role I played. _________________

I've played with DJ Krush, Z-Trip, Amon Tobin, Kid Koala, Jungle Brothers and heaps more.
I've also put on gig/ concerts/ festivals with anything from Nick Warren to The Mark of Cain, Cog, Alan Braxe, Paul Kelly, and on and on and on.

I was once in the local paper with a picture of myself and my chicken (called Roast) after winning a few poetry competitions with a poem I wrote for school. My chicken was given the title of my "Muse". Unfortunately the librarians at my (all boys) school got a hold of it and put it up prominently in the library.
Needless to say, I never wrote poetry again.
