Why would you want that? You have to date males in that version.... _________________

I've been thinking about possibly considering getting that game. I borrowed Animal Crossing off a friend and got into it heaps then didn't want to play it ever again. There is heaps to do, but it's all boring things like delivering glasses cases and donating fossils to a museum. Is Harvest Moon much like AC?

Harvest Moon is sorta like it but there are more things to do in it besides from doing odd jobs. You are a farmer but the main thing you have to do is start a family, thus you have to find a girl and try and win their love. _________________

Never played any Harvest Moon games, or even heard of any until AWL for GCN. Sooo, you have a farm and you have to milk your cows and do other farmy things, aswell as goto town and give girls pressies so you can make babies with them? God some games sound so boring in text (and in mouthed words too, probably). Is it selling well? Doesn't sound like a game casual gamers would be at all interested in in any way at all, but I'm thinking about adding it to my wishlist.

Right, this whole series has been rare over here in Australia, with the Snes version the hardest to get, I believe.
Both the GCN, and GBA versions are the same, really hard to get now. They arent limited, it's just harder to get them, then say Mario Sunshine or something. Why? Because mostly only online sites stock the game in. Oh, and EB will order the game in, based on customer demand.
As for the game, what you mentioned, is basically what you can do. You have to keep the farm maintained, but it's not your priority for the first part of the game. Instead, your first priority is to pick a local girl, and woo her enough, so you can marry her, and have a child with her. (like you mentioned)
Of course, maintaining the farm is still important, and you can do basically everything you could do on a real farm. You milk the cows, shear the sheep, feed them, wash them, cut the grass, plant seeds and stuff, water them. You name it, you can probably do it. You can also eventually renovate your farm too.
As for me, well the game did arrive, and I've been playing it a lot. It's an awesome game. What did you name your farm and animals Big Pete? (and anyone else, if they own it)
I really like just mucking around in the game though, and I haven't done as much on the farm, as what I could have. I much prefer watching the turtle sleep all day, or watching the people go about their daily lives. _________________

Your welcome, and yes you can name your animals.
I only have two animals though, so I'm not sure if you get to name every animal.
My names.
Me: Nismo (that was obvious)
Dog: Viper
Cow: Opel
Farm: Bermuda farm.
Pretty lame names from me, but hey, I couldn't care. _________________

My names are...
Farmer:Robert
Cow:Betsy
Dog:Rufus
Chicken: Ted( I got rid of it however)
Farm:Keller (After my mum's maiden sir name as her family owned a farm and some still do)
I'm going after Ceceilia as she's the easiest to talk to (Nami is the hardest).
I'm growing Tomatoes but need to get more as I've only planted 8.
Also I got this game from EB up here in Brisbane it took ages and they only received 5 copies all up (everyone else had to miss out).
Try internet shops (eBay is a good one but there prices arn't all that good).
I heard there's a Harvest Moon game coming out to the PS2 any good?
Also with the Snes version my cousin's got it, it's pretty easy but I still find the game great but it has a very annoying glitch which causes it to erase.
Can anyone tell me if Harvest Moon 64 ever came out in Pal format as I heard that game was one of the best games in the series.
Also Omniwrench you can name your child I think, lol think of the possibilities. _________________

was harvest moon on SNES that Silent Hill type game that was pulled from shelves GTA3 style?
there was a really violent game with Harvest in the title that this happened to... was pretty good actually
EDIT: googled it... found out it was Body Harvest... which i'm assuming is pretty different... i remember the SNES one was so much better than the N64 one of the same name... nothing at all alike actually.. as i said, the SNES version was more Silent Hill or even Resident Evil... _________________
