Polyphony Digital's notes:
- Cars do not mysteriously defy laws of physics when in contact with one another at high speed
- Cars can apparently change their form to accommodate trees, walls and other cars _________________

And the fact that they can manage to release two awesome Forza games in less time they release one GT game.

While I see your point here and agree, it's not like Forza has offered up the pinnacle of car damage physics yet, Forza 2 is laughable in the way collisions are handled.

Sounding a little petty there Forza , why can't we all just get along
Polyphony have a lot riding on GT5 here. Forza 1 and 2 have been great games and if Polyphony can't deliever something truly spectacular with GT5 then it might well be the death of the king. _________________ http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197997175012

Pack racing in Forza and the difference between what you see and the camber is atrocious! Although GT4 is unrealistic pos. Meh, gimme both i'll play em anyway.

Competition is always good. This will encourage growth and expansion of the genre. Forza was always GT's younger brother, now the older brother needs to pay attention

How about this for an analogy. GT was so used to being the only cool kid at school. Captain of the football team, hero to everyone else, got all the chicks. But then high school finished and GT just couldn't cope with the real world. GT wasn't cool anymore and no one cared that he used to be the football team captain almost 10 years ago! He would walk around town in his old football team jacket just so that people realised who he was. The new kids just wondered who that loser was.
Along comes Forza. This kid had some crazy moves. Not only that, but he didn't have an ego to match and he just kept getting better every year. Now Forza is looking at signing a Professional contract. Meanwhile GT decides it's time to check out Forza, who he has heard of before, but chose to ignore cos GT still thought he was king. Now people see GT turning up to games and watching Forza play, just to write down notes. But everyone just thinks, "Sorry GT, you had your chance. Time to move on kid." Perhaps get a job at Hungry Jacks or something. _________________ nting.

Im not sure that GT stagnated after GT3. GT4 was far and away the king of Car Games on the last gen consoles.
Unfortunately I've not had the chance to really get my teeth into Forza, so Im probably very biased, but GT5p shows excellent promise, I can't wait for the full game (if it ever shows up).
But all said and done, the best of Racing games are (and probably always will be) PC exclusives, Especially in terms of damage modeling, simple fact is, ANY stack at 100mph+ WILL end your race.

Sounds like this story:
Gran Turismo
Last Years Male Model of the Year
Forza
Current Male Model of the Year
I beleive it goes something like this:
Gran Turismo, having been at the top for years, gets caught up in himself. Fails to notice...
... the new up and comer, known as, "Forza."
Suddenly, there is competition. Everyone is talking about this new Forza. Gran Turismo doesn't know what to do, realising he is not what he used to be, breaks down.
Gran Turismo, after coming to a realisation, heads home to get the basics back into him.
David Bowie, no stories complete without him.
Gran Turismo relearns the basics, taking notes from Forza.
Will they both overcome there arrogance and learn to live with each other?
Missing frame:
To be continued upon release of Gran Turismo and Forza... if Gran Turismo is dated and released.

So element465, Forza and GT together? That... that would be awesome. We can dream, right?

This is very common at E3, the only reason it has turned into such a big deal is because Turn 10 made such a point of it on their website. I have already seen pictures of Miyamoto checking out Project Natal and the PSP Go, IMO there is nothing wrong with seeing how the competition is coming along.
.
If Gran Turismo 5 was at the show, you could guarantee that Turn 10 would be at the Sony booth taking notes. _________________

But as noted, Polyphony pretend other car games don't exist. I remember an interview the head of PD had with Wheels a few years ago saying he didn't care about other car games, and took no interest in them, they wouldn't influence GT in the slightest.

element465 you are a legend! Thank you for doing for my story waht I could not. Attention PALGN, can all articles please follow the picture/caption style as perfected by element465.
And yes, PD have been too arrogant and failed to acknowledge their peers and competitors. Such insolence... should be punished! _________________ nting.
