Well, I just reached Nyx Avatar on Persona 3.
This boss is a serious pain in the ass. I was fighting it for about 45 minutes, I thought I was doing well. Then the bastard increases its attack and follows with two Almighty Attacks knocking my character unconscious which meant an instant game over. Normally I wouldn't be fussed, but after 45 minutes? Luckily I thought ahead and had a save 10 days before January 31st, just in case I needed more training in Tartarus.
My character is at level 79, perhaps I should get to level 90 and create Messiah, surely Megadoleon would cause this boss at least a small amount of grief. Anyway, I took out about 10-15 arcanas, I lost count somewhere, so its either more or less. Its going to take a while to level my characters up, but I am going with Akihiko, Junpei and Yukari.
If anyone had completed Persona 3, I would love a few tips, like what characters to use, what level, what persona, what weapons and armour etc. _________________

I've been playing Assassins Creed, Saints Row 2 and FF7. I am enjoying Creed a lot more now, Saints Row 2 is fantastic and FF7, what can I say, it's a shame I didn't get into it back in the PS1 days. _________________

I had a copy of Red Faction in my hands on friday, put it back as i'm trying to not buy 423424 titles and end up with 423424+ unfinished games (as i've been buying new games weekly for awhile now and not finishing the previous games after i buy the new ones). Will get it in the near future, providing i finish a few of the current games i'm playing.
Virtua Tennis 2009
Plugging away at this, been playing a mix of the arcade mini games, arcade mode itself and the world tour. World tour looks like it will drag on unlike the world tour modes in VT 2 & VT3
UFC 2009 Undisputed
Hadn't touched it for a week (due to buying Virtua Tennis '09, Guitar Hero Metallica and Namco Museum Virtual Arcade last week), thought i'd give it a go again yesterday. Love getting early knockout wins (but hate early knockout losses ).
Guitar Hero Metallica
Awesome game, but my wrists and voice box will hate me for awhile
Left 4 Dead
Played this more in a day, than i have in the last 6-7 months when i first purchased it. It actually is pretty good fun when you get into it, although online isn't good on the 360 due to the lag factor. I'd love to get the pc version, but i'd need to upgrade my pc first.

Is there much of a difference between VT2009 and VT3? From the brief (2 mins) I played it at JB it seemed pretty much the same except that the players dive around a lot less (good thing!). _________________

Not really, it plays the same (again it hasn't changed too much since the original VT) - diving is gone, an animation where you nearly lose balance is in it's place, but it's better than diving and completely losing position.
World Tour is different this time around, you start off as an amatuer ranked 100, work your way down to #1. When you turn pro, you apparantly start from rank 150 and have to work your way to #1 again (havn't done it yet, but i've read other opinions on it). It feels like a chore, because from what i've played - you only move up 1 spot per each tournament win.
Also in World Tour, your player starts off at the maximum stats, now you play the minigames to build up areas which unlock certain characteristics for your player. I'm not sure if it actually does anything, bar give you a mini title under your name when you select your player / see your player in the vs matchup screen (eg: net player, baseline hitter etc).
In summary it's basically Virtua Tennis 3.5, i'm still satisfied with it.

Finally got around to getting Left 4 Dead on the X360. A somewhat hard game to find - GameTraders was the only retailer at Marion shopping centre in Adelaide that stocked it.
A refreshing game to play - a nice frantic change from the latest shooters on retailer shelves. I'm already feeling the repetitive side a bit too much though - after only 3 hours of play - which is kinda worrying...
Rented Call of Juarez just recently also. Glad I didn't actually buy it - terrible game in almost every aspect. I wasn't expecting a blockbuster, but definitely something better than what it is....

I've been playing NHL 09 a lot lately. The Be A Pro mode is surprisingly awesome with you actually having to work your way from the scraps to the NHL.
And the online seems alright thus far, although when it lags it is really deceptive, and considering the sports fast pace, it doesn't bode well. But it's a definate keeper. _________________

I'm playing the Uncharted 2 multiplayer beta. I was skeptical about how well multiplayer would work with the Uncharted series, but my fears were unfounded. The online co-op mode in particular is rather well done, and gives a nice glimpse of what the single player mode will be like. Oh, and the game looks great, and there's no lag at all. _________________

More Race Driver: GRID. Seriously love this game, as I've said a million times. Do yourselves a favour and buy it, please. Though I admit I got a bit pissed off today when I spent all my hard earned monies buying a car so I could compete in the top class of the Le Mans 24h (which runs for 24 minutes ), only to discover the other cars had epic top speeds so despite my awesome cornering, they catch up and overtake me on the straights. Or make me spin out.
Sporadic Team Fortress 2 also, when my internet is working. The Huntsman is pretty cool, at first I hated it but it was only after going back to the sniper rifle that I realised how superior it was at the medium to semi-close ranges. And I discovered payload race, which is serious fun. Though I struggle to find servers since my shitty internet only shows 60 TF2 servers. Random ones too, so I have to keep refreshing until I find what I want..
Also ploughing through Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney - Justice for All. It seems.. less interesting than the first game, I will admit. I'm definitely not enjoying it as much. Though the first game picked up towards the end, so maybe this one will too. _________________

I've been playing Assassin's Creed and CellFactor. It's my second time through AC and losing Altair's abilities and slowly getting them back again isn't as fun as I had remembered. I think maybe I had just excepted it when I first played it and immersed myself into the game. But this time through, it's just a little annoying. Demotion causes you to lose the ability to counter? Gimme a break!
On the positive side, the parkour element is still pretty awesome.
I'm just hoping the sequel isn't as repetitive in it's mission structure and has no flags to collect. And maybe from the very beginning have a base set of abilities that are built upon, as opposed to having them taken away and earned back.
CellFactor is pretty impressive for an arcade title. I'm playing through the blackop challenges atm. Up to the capture the flag one where you have to get 5 physics kills (throwing stuff) and not let the opposing team capture a flag at all throughout the match.

Been playing Red Faction Guerilla. I must say I like it. While the structure could be a bit better, it reminded me a lot of Assassin Creed's structure of missions, objectives and general flow of the game. Although instead of assassinations it's blowing stuff up. Loving it despite its repetetive nature. Looking forward to Prototype next week. _________________

Got back into some Killzone 2 again today.
It's really hard for this game not to impress. Visually it's still absolutely ludicrous - hell it's honestly really hard to say that Uncharted 2 is superior to it, and having the beta right by its side..yeah, they're both really, really good looking.
Still a fun as hell game to play too. Love the single player campaign as it's just utter insanity with bullets and rockets flying all over the place.
Add a DTS surround sound system in and the game is just incredibly intense. Still my FPS of the year. _________________

I'M GOING TO PLAY TITAN QUEST!
(note, even in my inebriated state I realise that isn't enough to effectively post in this thread. Before you get your neg fingers twitching I will edit after I actually play the game, chill out you crazy ********).
So yeah, loving it. Great way to get me pumped for Diablo III. I hadn't played it at all before even though I've owned it for well over a year. Good stuff, going to play it again today.
Oh, and for Winburjn: Even pee arsed I still make sure my posts are legible, even if it means I'm backspacing every second letter to get the words spelt right.

It's a great game, i refer to it as Fifa on ice... with added violence
I played it a whole heap when i first got it last year, but have only played it in small bursts since Feb (about 4 - 6 games per every 3 weeks or so).
I started off in the usual franchise mode, but migrated to be a pro... i find it to be just as addictive as fifa's be a pro mode. Started in the AHL, took ages to get to the NHL team, worked my way up. What i don't like is the punishment for not performing up to standard, it only takes one game and you can be demoted from the 1st line - to 2nd, 3rd or 4th. Or sometimes you'll be demoted straight back to the AHL (as i was ).
My main motivation to keep playing is to get the legendary player award (+ the achievement for 360). But also to actually get into the playoffs and WIN. I'm in my third be a pro season and have only made the playoffs once, but was knocked out early. I've done alright in my current season, had a 15 match winning streak at one stage (where i either dominated, or won with a 1-2 goal advantage), in the game where i lost i was on the end of a 7 - 2 belting.
In most sports games (fifa aside), it generally takes me 1-2 seasons before i actually win the important games. Dating back to the early Madden games, i'd just make the playoffs stage only to get eliminated in the second last or the final game itself. But would come back and win the next season.

Once again it's been almost a week and a half and I haven't put a game in my 360 at all
I have however managed to squeeze in a small session with Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney. I am up to the final case (I thought I had finished after the last case ended... apparently I was wrong). I think the break I had between cases was a bad thing to do as I have gotten out of the swing of things. Need to get my mindset back to realising that it's more or less an ebook with some adventure elements thrown in. Also the long hiatus has severed some of the connections I had built up with the characters so that it kinda seems less personal now.
Having said that, the more I play the more I am enjoying it again, so it probably wont take much to get me hooked. _________________

I started on GTA 4 again, and am having a whole heap of fun, the driving is still fucking horrible though.
My mate started moving in his stuff including his PS3 yesterday so I gave uncharted a bash. Wow, this game is unforgiving in the combat. Pretty fun, animation is gorgoues, kind of seems like this gens PoP if only it had less shooting in it. _________________

Metroid Prime - Gamecube
Finally put this one to bed now. That doesn't mean I've finished it however. The damn final boss battle, I've got there to the final phase with him having a sliver of energy left three times now and died. It takes half an hour to get to that point. So annoying and frustrating. I know it's not part of the way the Metroid games are designed, but this game needs checkpoints I reckon. Having to trek to save rooms stems from limitations imposed on older system, it has no place in modern games. Even though I'd decided to take the game out of my Wii and move the game case to the completed pile, I've still had another crack at it and got the same result. I'm sure if I kept at it, I'd get it, but dammit, I don't want to spend hours and hours on the final boss when I've collected over 80% of items/logs and only taken 25 hours on the game. Atmosphere and music were great, controls were a little restrictive at times. The battles where it deliberately makes you lose target lock on something for some reason had me battling the controls instead of the enemy.
World of Goo - WiiWare
Bought this when it released and played through Chapter 1 and then put it down to play something else at the time. I've gone back to this and have whizzed through up to the Epilogue now and just have a couple of levels left. I've found this game to be a mixed bag. Some of the levels are sublime, delighting you in rewarding you for figuring out the puzzle. Chapter 4 was a particular highlight. I can't say much more without getting into spoilers though. Others are complete and utter rage quitting bastards. Frustrations came from failing because I couldn't select the specific goo I wanted at times because others were in the way. Shame the level design isn't consistently, but there are times that I felt like I did when I got near the end of Portal (anyone that's played that will know what I mean).
de Blob - Wii
Another addictive game with that 'just one more go' factor. It's a great, fun platform/adventure game, I'm about two-thirds the way through it now and it has started to get a little repetitive. There's ten main levels and I've been playing them two at a time, taking around an hour per level. That has me doing most objectives, but not all. You'd need to have serious OCD to go and complete everything on every level for this game I think. I can be that way, but there has to be a suitable reward for it to get me to do it. Something that powers your character up in some way is the sort of thing that gets me doing that. However, it seems to me you just unlock things like simple challenge levels, art galleries etc. Nothing good enough to make me spend ages on a level hunting down everything. _________________

Fire emblem DS: shadow dragon
Adore the fire emblem series, but this just feels lacking something. I am playing it instead of writing a thesis. I just played for 3 hours power leveling at the colosseum, only to have Marth die to a puny sword master because i thought 99% to hit would be good enough.
