No big deal really. I never (and I'm sure not many other people did either) bought any of them and for most games it was cheaper to buy the original in disc format!

The only game I ever really wanted backwards compatible or on the download service was Marvel vs Capcom 2, and they're going one better than that, so I'm not fussed about the loss of the original series.

I still think the Halo trilogy should be released, aka the upcoming Metroid Prime trilogy, with updated visuals and a complete FMV overhaul to fit in with ODST, etc. But that's just me.

This was a really underutilised service. Could have been a big winner from a marketing standpoint but it ended up being rather useless unless you were willing to overlook the fact you could buy all these games cheaper in retail form.

By "no longer supported" do they mean they will stop selling them alltogether, or just they aren't releasing any more after the last one?

Games that are supported, *cough*Fable*cough* plays for like an hour and then freezes, is this what you call Backward Compatible? As long as its runnable but still buggy...

Glad I keep my original xbox icon_biggrin.gif

I got both Psychonauts and Dreamfall and both worked flawlessly, maybe Fable was just a buggy game.

I'm confused, wasn't the whole idea of getting a new console to be able to experience new games and all the rest it offers? and i was under the impression if you really wanted to play old games that you could still find the old games on disc and buy them? and even buy a second hand XBOX. last time i checked any ways. Or maybe most of you are right, Microsoft should spend time away from other projects to maintain and expand its digital release of old games that mostly no one plays any more. That would be just as bad as SONY taking the backwards compatibility out of the PS3 for PS2 games. Shame on you SONY, I want to play old games on a brand new console, I don't want new High Definition next generation games, and I don't want to play my old PS2 games on a PS2, I want to play them on a new PS3.

no not mad, just old school. The fact is you can still play the games, having them played through a PS3 doesnt make "THAT" much of a difference in quality on a lcd/plasma. Imagine how much effort would go into making everyones fave games B/C? thats allot of time an $$.

Yeah that is a lot of time and cash to put in a feature that was removed from the console a couple of months after it was released.

Because it was costing too much to manufacture and they weren't selling enough.
