Good news for fans. The game was announced in a booklet that comes with the latest Blu-Ray release.

It's being developed by the new company Cellius, whch is a joint venture between Sony and Namco Bandai.

Do you think they'll release the game then later on down the track re-release it with a coherent ending?

Nice, I was actually wondering where Cellius droped off to. Seeing how's it composed of Namco Bandai and Sony I'm hoping their Ace Combat skills can convert to a good mech game.

Looks good. Cant wait to hear more about it. I played a bit of the n64 version, though it was all in Japanese, it was kinda fun..though I had no idea what was really going on.

Also any word on when the next one in the you are (NOT) series comes out? (With English subs/dub)

Funimation has mention the US release on 10/11 (same day as MW2) with English dubs to boot. Hopefully it's licensing covers the 1.11 Blu Ray version and is region free. Though the first viewing of the English dub occurs in July.

I don't believe it really is a game...
The actually game would be on PS2/PSP.
The PS3 Japanese title is "Misato Katsuragi's (news) report project" (oppose to Human Instrumentality Project)
Line above saids "new form/shape of reports", below is "news changes on the PS3"...
I am guessing it might be something along the line of "mainichi issho".

The group making it were made specifically to create games that bring out the full potential from the cell processors in the ps3, hence the name.

turns out I was right. It's a news "channel", it is scheduled for 6th June on PSN.
Only new potential from this game is the voice synthesizer which is supposed to give realistic human voice (reading the news).
You can change the location and clothing and pick the news you want her to read.

Seems a bit weak for Cellius's first "game", but it's still kind of cool.

cool, more like confusing as fuck.

Seriously who sat down and thought "Shit you know what the world needs, an anime charecter that reads the news in real time"

This is like some bizzare tech demo that they decided "What the fuck we'll just sell this bitch to people"

Seriously, what the hell?

You do realise that is exactly the kind of thing Japan wants, right?

Oh right... japan...

It still just strikes me as the weirdest shit. I mean you think it would atleast be Rei considering how obbsessed people get over her.

More info for those who are keen
http://game.watch.impress.co.jp/docs/news/20090528_170253.html
It's subscription based 800yen for 30 days, and have DLC (don't know if it's free) for more hairstyle/clothing etc. Can be uploaded to PSP and watch it outdoor.
http://b.bngi-channel.jp/ps3_misato/p_movie.html for trailer, it's like the hatsune miku voice if you've been following the japanese online scene.
Still a bit computerish, guess it's only for the die hard eva fans.

would be cool if they got the english voice for this, but i doubt this is the type of application that would cater to a western audience even if you do consider all the hardcore fans here.

would be better if they had just charged a one off price for this rss feed.

if this turns out to be the thing which makes the ps3 win in japan...

If you're a real fan, you'd get it (only) in Japanese.
800yen per month is a lot of money. That's like $10 AUD, which could be better spent on MMO or whatever else.
