Tis true, I am more like a green tree snake and pale in comparison to the venomous viper that is Jibbs, also my flair or lack thereof is hard through words as in real life I'm a more visual person.....also no love as Jibbs has all the love, love hogging mother fucker.

A new thread and three pages of chatter over some silly bint? *sigh*

As for the word 'wog', I don't and won't use it. When I was much younger, I really only heard it used as an offensive reference to people of African descent - with the backronym 'Western Oriental Gentleman' used to explain away the racism when called on. I have now been exposed to many people who use the word in a non-derogative way, so I have had to get used to hearing it in civilised conversation. I still makes me flinch though. Some weird inner alarm goes off.

Wog mainly refers to dark-skinned, non-white dudes from Africa or Asia.

@Charly

Wogs are generally referred to as people of "Mediterranean" origin, so usually the Greeks and the Italians. Well, that's in my area anyway (south-east Melbourne). I've never seen it used in relation to people of African descent.

*ADDED*
Checking urban dictionary, it seems that in the UK a wog is a person of African descent, for some reason it got changed to people from Southern Europe when the word gained usage in Australia. Of course, urban dictionary isn't exactly the best source, but it sounds about right (and matches your previous description).

^ Yes, it is an 'Aussie' thing to use that word to refer to those of Mediterranean descent.

Heh, the African thing came from those golliwog dolls that anyone born in the 60s grew up with. Pretty sure "wog" was used to describe mediterranean europeans even before then.

Umm, Golliwogs are from as early as the 1800s...

And I'm pretty sure the Australian use of the term 'wog' for Mediterranean people would have come into use in the 1950s and 60s when Government migration schemes targeted Italians and Greeks and Australia experienced a wave of Mediterranean immigration.

The term 'wog' for greeks, serbs, etc became popular after the film 'Wog boy' from what I can tell.

I know I was called a wog after that film, being of serbian descent.

Hmmmm, all these wog talk reminds me of Kingswood Country.

"That Bloody Wog!!!" this quote was like in every episode.

Oh, and Graham Kennedy was on that show, he ate dog food!!! Now I feel like watching Kingswood Country again.

Common usage in Melbourne far before Wog Boy came out. I've never really heard it use a "proper" derogatory term before, it's mostly used as shorthand (mouth?) instead of saying Italian, Greek or Lebanese since from a distance it's hard to tell them apart and generally the ones who are called it all act similar anyway. I supposed you could call them something else but whatever you come up with isn't going to stick as well as "wog".

Exactly. She is not hot. She is orange. She is stupid and plastered with make-up.

I'd still still hit it.

It would be more of a grudge hit though. (Worded appropriately, yes?)
