I'm from Melbourne and have also lived in central Victoria and have had wog friends in both places and I don't think I've heard it as a derogatory term ever.

eg

Racism is, at it's core, tarring everyone of a certain race with the same brush....didn't you and your friend just do that?
At the end of the day, people are individuals and are free to say or do as they please, even if it's as butt-stupid as 'fully sick mates'.
