Imagi the guys behind TMNT and the new Astro Boy movie have released a trailer for there new movie based on some old school japanese mecha anime.
These guys are quickly becoming my faviourte animation studio.

Looks good, though I've never watched or read the original so I'm a little lost in terms of the story. I'm guessing it's a little Astro Boy meats Gundam? Something like that. Anyone care to enlighten me?

Army makes robot to win world war 2, after the robot is completed the war's allready over, boy find remote for it and uses it to fight bad guys.
Basicly the prototype for all giant robot animes.

though despite not being much alike at all, i kept thinking "The Iron Giant" all through it.

Pretty much everyone I know who's seen the trailer thought that ,Cept for the people familiar with the original story who were thinking of this all through the Iron Giant

Oh man, I was browsing through my DVD collection, and all of a sudden, I spied the T-28 dvd. I got all excited and stuff, thinking it was perhaps the cgi one, but it turned out to be the 2005 real life movie.
