Curse of Monkey Island is my favourite game of the series as well. Being one of LucasArts' most popular franchises (aside from their movie licenses), there is good chance LucasArts will make another Monkey Island game. Just hope they don't do what they did to Sam and Max: Freelance Police.

what was the reason for S&M being canned?
it can't be story being too weak... or is it only lucasfilms that don't consider this a downer (boom tish) _________________

i never thought sam and max was any good anyway MONKEY ISLAND ALL THE WAY... i think they need to update theyre controll system...the controll system on escape from monkey island was a bit shoddy.

This is what LucasArts said about cancelling Sam and Max: Freelance Police in their press release:
"After careful evaluation of current market place realities and underlying economic considerations, we've decided that this was not the appropriate time to launch a graphic adventure on the PC" says Mike Nelson, Acting General Manager and VP of Finance and Operations. There is currently no plan to reduce staff.
...So they shower the market with Star Wars games instead.

Oops. A bit of trouble with a double post there. I don't mind the Star Wars games. With the amount they do release, quality titles do eventually slip through.

the last bunch have been really good
KOTOR, Jedi Academy, Galaxies
but then, of course, there has been Master's of Teras Kasi, and Super Bombad Racing...
looking forwards to Rebel Commando and Battlefront though
another XWing/Tie Fighter game would be good... escpecially if it were a freelancer style game, being a smuggler or mercenary rather than a combat pilot... ah well... getting way off topic now...
monkey island was a good game, btut given the reasons for canning S&M above, i don't see a new MI on the horizon...
Armed and Dangerous is amusing from what i've seen of it, but i haven't really been sucked into it yet... got distracted by Farcry... might have to give it another go... _________________

BUT there has to be another monkey island...if u look closeley when you beat LeChuck in Monkey Combat (with the robot monkey and big stone LeChuck) you see LeChuck fly away out of the explosion....AND i repeat the voodoo woman has a five game contract (she could go in another game though?) and we havent learnt her name yet and it better be a comical name....

...and since this is a comical game, both incidences can be explained as jokes, LeChuck as a vague star wars reference to Vader escaping the Death Star explosion, and Voodoo Lady as simply a joke... it wouldn't be the first time either has come up in a lucasarts game...
but i repeat, i do hope another is made... _________________
