I like how they couldn't just write the number 907.
They could of done the expiry date to match: XVI.III.XCVI.
But noooooo. _________________

whoa, that's different to the one i was a member of... mine had the actual X-Files logo.
pretty sure i sent all my stuff off to the US though, so maybe i joined the US Fanclub, instead of the AU one. |
oh like the proper fan club? haha... yeah strange i guess i never heard about that one...
anyway someone over here must have made a killing, though they did send out the monthly fan club magazine and i don't remember paying that much to join... i actually submitted an article once that was reprinted in the mag... i was all excited... i think i have a folder somewhere with all that stuff
what were the benefits of joining the US fan club? did they send out regular stuff? |
i know i got a T-shirt that i never saw for sale in any of the merch catalogues or webstores, and i got a "I Want to Believe" poster too, but then they released this design to the stores and it wasn't nearly as cool as it initially was. and there were a whole bunch of bookmarks, a calendar and stuff. and yeah, a newsletter sent out somewhat sporadically.
actually from memory, the poster was pretty much the entire reason for wanting to join. i remember i considered it pretty expensive at the time, but realistically, it was probably only like $50 or something. |
Wow, you actually got stuff though! Poster and t-shirt alone makes it worth $50. Not even sure what we paid and I don't think we got anything as cool. Think it was just the magazine, which had some sort of name relating to "X-Philes" or something.
Anyway, we're both awesome and nobody can touch our awesomeness!

Would have sucked considering I was Special Agent 807. _________________

Think back to your childhoods! Maybe something you watched as a child gave you more pleasure than something you watch now. Why shouldn't The Smurfs or Snorks be on the list? |
Personally, whilst I still hold my childhood shows in a high esteem (Power Rangers, A*Mazing, Rugrats, Daria), a lot of them wouldn't hold up so well once I took off the nostalgia glasses (though like a fine wine, Daria only gets better with age). Besides, I've developed most of my TV watching tastes and preferences in recent years, when I've matured enough to appreciate all the elements of a show.
As for my top 5, even though five isn't nearly enough to list my TV likes:
- Arrested Development (so many jokes on so many levels)
- The Daily Show (cutting political satire, especially during the recent US election)
- Firefly (one perfect season of good stories and great characters)
- Scrubs (did something different to the three-camera canned-laughter cheap-gag laden comedy that was, and you could say still is, prevalent in sitcom television)
- The Simpsons (classic stuff. the golden age episodes still stand up a decade after the fact)
Right now, I'm loving Pushing Daisies, 30 Rock, Chuck and The Soup.
I should really watch some drama, shouldn't I? _________________ Level 3 | News Hit | Twitter

It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
South Park
Arrested Development
Entourage
Dexter
Other favourites and recommendations would go to:
The Boondocks - Great satire animation.
The College Humor Show - Ridiculous and hilarious. _________________

1. The wire
2. Top gear
3. Simpsons
4. The shield
5. Ice road truckers
6. Weeds
I would include Band of brothers except for the fact thats its a minimovie series rather than a television show. _________________

Having to try and list 5 is absolutely criminal...... but I'll give it a go.
In no particular order
1) Firefly
2) Lost
3) Peep Show - I can't believe no-one has mentioned this yet (may have missed it, just had a quick skim). If you haven't seen it you should definately look it up. British humour at its best.
Man this is hard......
4) Chuck
5) Veronica Mars
There are so many other shows that could go on there,
Band of Brothers (myself and a friend recently watched the whole 10 eps in 1 marathon sitting. It was in glorious Hi-Def with high end audio, absolutely amazing), 24, Gilmore Girls, Dawsons Creek, Battlestar (It was hard to leave that one off), Simpsons, Weeds, Entourage, Trailer Park Boys, Arrested Development, Dexter, Pushing Daisies, The Daily Show, Scrubs, The Unit, Friday Night Lights, it goes on and on..........
This list could have been a top 50 shows and I would have had to leave some off .
