If they are not bringing 09 out on PS3 then they should release it on PS2 so at least I can use my G25 wheel. Come on Codemasters at least bring out F1 2009 out on PS2 as well as PSP and Wii.

Game on

I feel like getting my teeth into a good portable Formula 1 game on PSP but they always seem TOO sensitive control-wise. Hope the handling is balanced with this one.

Nooooooooo;

"EGO Engine used in the recent GRID game"

So that means by default this game will be another shi**ouse ARCADE game.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE regulate the amount of arcade tripe that will feature in the game FIA, its your duty to the fans !

The game engine that Grand Theft Auto 3 used, RenderWare, was also used for games like Airport Tycoon and Mortal Kombat Armageddon. So no, it doesn't mean that it will be an arcade game by default.

No it means you know nothing about game engines and your comment should be withdrawn. What it does mean, that the awesome physics and other attributes the EGO engine is capable of producing, will ensure that the developers if the next F1 games will have an excellent base to build their new game on, but the game is only good as the team working on it. For example, the old Unreal engine was tops, and then it was raped by a flood of crappy games using its engine just to have the "POWERED BY THE UNREAL ENGINE" line slapped on the box to help push the game.

ITS UP TO THE DEVELOPMENT TEAM TO NAIL THIS ONE, let hope they get it right. people need a racing sim but can't hold their breath for GT5 much longer.

GRiD blew me away. I thought the graphics were jaw dropping for the 360, the way it seemed to run so effortlessly yet look pretty much photorealistic (varied on what environment you played in). I'm excited to hear that the engine wil be used in F1's new game. I might actually pick it up as the recent F1 coverage in...i think Melbourne has sparked my interest icon_biggrin.gif

The funny thing is that Codemasters aren't making what could be the most successful version - the Wii.

^ What? The first version will be F1 2009, released for Wii and PSP. It's only the next one, F1 2010, that is coming to other, arguably "proper" platforms. I'd imagine 09 will be an arcade style game, with 2010 providing a more in-depth experience.
