its out, and from what ive played it sucks!
the ranking systems good but seriously, i played 1 match, it was me+ bot vs 2 americans.
i then randomly couldnt find a match for 15 minutes and gave it a break.
was in an xbl party with some mates playing, and they were still getting normal american games.

played more tonight with a full party. was lucky enough to get about 10 game our host streak, and then not so lucky.
rankings good, but -1500 for quiting out is a bit steep. _________________

I'm mixed about the TU3, sure I can get host probably about 7/10 times but what worries me is that Epic mentioned that regional matchmaking would be in place, sadly this isn't the case.
Sitting on level 16, got a long way to go before level 100, I wonder though how many points is level 100??

Sucking for me. Am getting very, very sick of it. The lag isn't any better for me, at all.

gah, friggin epic, this experience system sucks. Well to be more precise, the fact i keep getting host and my connection can't handle it and craps out after a few minutes counting me as quitting and there is no option to not host, frigging sucks. 1 level forward, 2 levels back.
Also me and a freind have been experimenting with the region filter. Despite both starting a search for the same match type at the same time we both end up in different games playing americans ever time. _________________

Yeah I'm loving it at the moment. Really, really good fun. We just all need to get into matches together. Level 17 thus far.

yeah its fantastic fun, not a huge fan of the new score system though, whenever I get a kill some B*stard runs up and steals it. Im considering the **GASP** glitch so i can just have fun and not worry about it

glad they got rid of the trueskill, that stuff only works for games with massive poulations, like halo and cod. And one reason cod keeps its population is because it chooses xp progression over skill progression. Although they made up for the lower poulation in gow 2 with less levels, it don't work because you don't feel like your achieveing anything when you can't get past lvl 2
time to play _________________

Updated and played yesterday.
Finding others is much quicker now but I'm still connecting to whiny little American punks who think using the f word is intimidating to other players.
If Nintendo can have a region filter, why can't XBL???
Not overly impressed but it has made a difference, just not the difference I was wanting. _________________

| Quote: | Cant you at least give them the option of waiting for an Australian match ? or is that not possible.
Let them choose if they want local searches only?
This is a 6 degrees of separatation problem. Let's say he selects local only but has a moderate NAT so is guaranteed not to host. Then he finds his next-door neighbor during matchmaking but his neighbor has NOT set that. The neighbor is host and the player that selected the local only option is out of luck. Statistically, that will be the majority case and not the minority, so even though he thinks that feature should work for him, it won't.
The region preference does not work.
You are wrong. Australia doesn't have enough players for Australia only matches.
Sadly I cannot get into a public online match without encountering a horrible amount of lag as 99.9% of the time I am pushed together with an American host.
Unfortunately for you Australians, there are not enough people playing concurrently in the same playlists for us to restrict you only to your local area.
4 Day Country Filter test results, Epic please can we have your input on this?
I've answered the australian problems numerous times. |
hmmm i wonder why no aussies are playing epic, ohh maybe its cause they cant get into a lag free game.

its almost circular reasoning
Australians dont play much so we cant put in a filter
Australians dont play much because there is no filter

It's so much easier to get a good game going. I even have trouble playing friends via requests on Gears 2. Gears 1 has little or no lag for me whatsoever. _________________
