GTAIV is the first and last GTA game I will buy/play. It's my opinion that it was overhyped, overrated, and underwhelming in the end.
I'd prefer more Crackdown to be honest. _________________

LOL.
Mario Kart is the best selling game* of this generation and Mario laughs at wannabes like Master Chief, Nico, and Snake.
* I don't count Wii Fit/Sports/Play but if you do then WiiMK is 4th this gen.

Mafia would be good, as would more of the Irish, but i'd also really like to see a GTA story from the perspective of a cop. it'd be tough, considering it'd change a lot of the dynamic of the core elements of the game's gameplay, but considering TLAD pretty much made stealing cars redundant (sans a few missions) i reckon it could be done.
if it did happen, it'd probably end up being a bent cop, but that'd be cool too. |

No, MAFIA should not be like GTA.
They are two different games with different ideologies.
MAFIA was awesome because it didn't try to be a lot like GTA.
MAFIA was all about the story and missions. GTA is more about commenting as many crimes, running errands or doing whatever you like in the huge maps in between missions.
MAFIA on other hand had a much, much deeper and engaging story and some few gameplay mechanics like the shooting and driving are better in MAFIA than GTA.
It was more focused on the story and so there was not much else you can do in between the missions like bowling for example in GTA. Basically the game encouraged you to move on to the next mission and progress the story.
MAFIA and GTAs are awesome but in different ways.

i don't think you understood the proposition TheAnswer and I were making.
not that the game, Mafia, should be like GTA (or vice versa), but that the next DLC pack should feature a story revolving around the happenings of the Mafia "gang" from GTA4.
(and no idea about True Crime games, i never played them.) _________________

Like Officer Tenpenny before GTA:SA. That would fucking rock.
More GTA please.

If there's going to be more GTA, it needs to be less serious and more funny. Funny as in 2D GTAs funny, not the 3D ones which feel like they're trying too hard.

If they remake GTA: Vice City again with beefed up graphics, I'll be content. That was an experience I won't forget. Nothing since has compared to it, for me.
I didn't complete GTA:IV either, don't plan to either. Such a build up for nothing for me.

You're a cop who doesn't play by the rules, going around 'commandeering' cars you can search people for drugs etc. Also had a karma system were you could be good or bad, had some pretty cool ideas like differnt martial arts styles you could train in and new skills to learn in shooting and shit. _________________

I'd love to have another "realistic" GTA game minus the horrible euphoria physics which made controlling your character like driving a tank, and minus the washed out boring visuals.. But I think we're past the immaturity of the GTA games on the PS2, sure Vice City is a fun game, but Rockstar have shown they can make a mature sandbox game with a good story and thats much better than just a big area for you to mess around in because its immersive. I didn't even like Saints Row 2 which everyone raved as "better" because it was just ridiculous and didn't pull me in. So i'd like to see them advance on their realistic angle.
