Well, the last I heard of this was that it ran into financial difficulties and was finished. I was really looking forward to the release of this and hopefully development has carried on. Anyone have any information on this topic? Any information will be greatly appreciated.

It's like actors playing the parts, you know like a real film, not animated.
Quite frankly I am hoping to avoid this at all costs. But then I don't think it's going to work, if it does that would be sweet.

It would more than likely suck balls. Knowing if it was under any Hollywood film production, they'd milk the shit out of it and not include any of the philosophical points that were raised in Akira.

Well on the subject of Live Action things. There's a live action Sailor Moon. Its called Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon - Jisshaban.
Yes, I know it has nothing to do with Akira, but meh.

I really think that Sailor Moon is a lot better animated, I'm trying to get an episode so that I can better judge, but I'm thinking it may just get silly at moments with people.
For example:
That's a bit silly and a bit disturbing. _________________

I remember reading in a magazine they were going to have a live action (real actors) movie for DBZ, Akira, and Ninja Scroll. I don't know if they are all still gonna be made, but the rights to make the movies apparently have been sold to certain studios.

There is also the live-action Evangelion in production, with WETA Workshop behind the special effects. They've even released some concept art, making it less of a pipe dream...
