yeah it's insane the prices that seems to go for. (or at least ticketed at).
i bought mine when it launched, so i probably paid RRP for it, not that i really mind. my biggest regret is not taking it (or the Metal Edition Snake Eater) to Go3 when Hideo Kojima was here.
i thought about it on my way, and thought "nah, he wouldn't be just walking around the expo" and put them back on my shelf...

Well I was just surprised someone like him came to an event in Perth, of all places.  I won a few things too, but apart from that there was something about GO3 which was lacking...
A guy from work splurged and bought himself a GameCube and Luigis Mansion only a few months after the Cube launched here... found himself in financial trouble... I happily accepted his desperate offer for these items at $150AUD, I even remember the transaction, gave him three $50 notes and he pulled the things from his boot, looks like he was trying to offload them before he came round to me.

My best bargain would be a brand new copy of The Eye Of Judgment with the PS Eye on the PS3 for ~$60 ish thanks to toolmansevendust picking it up in the Myer Boxing Day Sales.

The best bargain I've ever received has to be The Legend of Zelda: A Link to The Past & Four Swords for GBA from DSE- it cost me only 99cents brand new and it was mint condition!
I'm also pretty happy about my acquiring of Geometry Wars Galaxies for Wii from GAME - $8 was an absolute steal for such a fun game.

-Bought a bunch of games oneday, got home and looked at the docket.. Oh sweet, they charged me $75 for a P.O copy of Viva Pinata (over RRP and $30 more than on the sticker)
-Bought HL2 'New', intsalled it... CD key already used. No more copies in stock, had to send it to Melbourne to get a working copy sent out, at my expense ofcourse.
-Bought a copy of Metroid Hunters, got home to find Metroid Pinball in the Hunters box.
That might sound like a minor inconvenience to you, but the nearest EB is 84km from my house. Justified? I believe so. Besides, can't prove it belonged to eb, it was the disc only sitting on the floor near the front door during sales time. Some poor bastard might have already bought it, the disc fell out of the case while he was walking out... I wouldn't hand it in to eb so they could sell it again.
Since GAME opened in the same area I haven't been back.

C'mon, it was 2003-04. I have grown up alot since then  These days the situation would have played out differently.
Also, I know what it's like to have things stolen. A 'mate' stole $300 from me that I never got back. Also 2 aboriginal kids stole my bag with $600+ worth of stuff in it in 2002. Goodtimes.

Man, that really sucks. But that's the only EB you've dealt with, right? Sounds like it just has some dud employees. Best not to judge every store by your experiences at one store, because chances are there are some stores with employees that really shouldn't be working there, and then there are some stores with spectacular employees that take pride in doing their job properly. Same goes for any chain of stores, really.

I'll agree with the above being bad customer service (especially you having to cover the postage for your replacement) but IMHO that doesn't justify you taking stuff you haven't paid for.

As for this they should have noticed the error when they scanned it through but you should have jumped straight on them (not literally ) when that little voice inside your head says "that doesn't seem to add up right".

Best bargain would be getting a HD-DVD player add-on for the X360 along with about 12 HD-DVDs for about $7 per HD-DVD and $20 for the player. I also got the Heroes Season 1 HD-DVD boxset for $20 as well.
I saw an official Liverpool away Champions League jersey signed by all the 08/09 players + Rafa Benitez and with a COA on ebay for $150 (getting one with just Steven Gerrard is usually around $400) but I didn't buy it because I didn't have a credit card set up. Would've been fairly awesome.
I'm heading to Thailand in two weeks, so I'm looking forward to getting some decent bargains there and haggling people down from paying A$0.40 for something to A$0.10. Just for the hell of it.

My absolute bargain of all time would be a Ibanez guitar with gold plating on tuning keys an bridge AND a psp phat for $200.. Nothing wrong with either. Absolute steal and it got my playin music again.. <3

Its not, my brothers mate owned it from new and sold to my mate, which in turn i bought off him. Not the best guitar these days as its like 9 years old now, but it gets the job done and still has massive style points!

Back when it was being sold in bundles with GC consoles, it was somehow on the shelf on its own. I took it to the counter, it scanned as one cent. Long story short, they let me have it for five cents.
