Getting Digital Devil Saga 2 new for $5 is definitely one of my best. I also remember getting myself a brand new copy of DBZ: Harukanaru Densetsu back when it was just released for $10 posted off Ebay.  Oh, and I got the Vol. 1 DVD of the Viewtiful Joe anime for $5 posted (Ebay also).

A few years ago myer had a sale on all gamecube games that put every single game, new releases included at 50% off. Friends and I travelled all around the city going to different stores to see what they had in stock. Cleaned up.

I've had a few bargains and picked up some rare titles fairly cheap.
My best bargain would definately be getting my 80GB PS3, LBP, Resistance 2 and Ratchet & Clank: TOD for a grand total of $84.10(after trading in my Wii and games, which I never really played). Bloody good deal, considering its my main console now.
Over the past yr here some gaming bargains I've had:
Mint condition Purple Gamecube for $30 at EB
Zelda: Windwaker, Warioland and Super Mario Sunshine from EB for $50, when they had there 3 for $50 sale last yr. All in mint condition too
Gitaroo Man for $11.65
Viewtiful Joe 2 for $7.15
KoF 2003 for $7.15
Resident Evil 4 for $25.15
I-Ninja for $10.75
All at EB recently. A few of these titles I've been after for over a year now, some also are very rare, so jumped all over them at those prices.
As for new games/items:
NFS: Most Wanted $10 at DSE sale (still sealed)
Burnout 3: Takedown $5 at DSE sale (still sealed)
Mass Effect Guide and Art Book $10 at GAME
Super Mario Galaxy Game Guide $5 at GAME
Zelda: Phantom Hourglass CE Guide $10 at GAME
COD4 CE Book at DVD $25 from these forums
I too love a good bargain hunt and really enoy finding rare games to add to my collection. I love the feeling of having something rare and unique.

Neverwinter Nights 2 for $2! Alex bought it for me, an absolute steal. I think Age of Mythology was either $2 or $5 as well, and I love the Age of x games. Both brand new.

boxed game and watch for trade of an ex rental pikmin 2 that had no manual (i think and i only paid $12 for, i already had a copy for myself that was mint condition and it was the only way i'd get a game and watch without paying lots for it)
mario kart race track playset thing $20 at a trash and treasure market
conker's bad fur day on n64 for about $20
mario party 1-3 for about $15-20 each at a cash converters type store
boom blox new on wii for $15 from target (also my sims, but boom blox is better)
recently got disaster day of crisis from kmart new for $40 (and has a full price valued club nintendo card in it)

Prob a 60gb Ps3 a month after release for $600 still in the box with a HDMI cable....wasnt bad I thought...Sold it for $1000 a year later. Wish I still had it.
A Xbox 360 20gb console for $150 with two controllers and 3 Games. Let my gf's brother have it.

i'll be getting GTA: Chinatown Wars for $12 after i trade in NFS: Carbon and Worms Open Warfare which i bought ages ago for $7 and $5 each. had my fun with these games (if "fun" is the correct term in the case of NFS ) so i'll happily trade them in.
got a brand new PS3 for $500 off of a guy who got it free with his TV.
GH: Aerosmith + Guitar for ~$50 when Harvey Norman were dumping their stock making room for GHWT. (crap game, but wanted a 2nd guitar, and this was cheaper than the guitars seperately)
Superman 64 for $10... oh wait, i was ripped off in that instance...

yeah mine isn't PC either, and likewise, when i started actively collecting MGS (as opposed to just getting them because i wanted to play them - i already had almost everything i've got now, but there were a few things i needed, this included), very happy with getting it for what i did.

yeah it's insane the prices that seems to go for. (or at least ticketed at).
i bought mine when it launched, so i probably paid RRP for it, not that i really mind. my biggest regret is not taking it (or the Metal Edition Snake Eater) to Go3 when Hideo Kojima was here.
i thought about it on my way, and thought "nah, he wouldn't be just walking around the expo" and put them back on my shelf...
guess who was walking around the expo signing stuff?
