I agree. Ugh and LeonJ, if you have a problem with the games on PS3 or this game then stay out of the threads and leave the rest of us alone who enjoy the game and chatting about it.

Well, I had another play of this today, up to the 3rd chapter and absolutey love it. I'm loving the guns now, they feel and look so realistic and I'm getting used to the controls.
I've played more online and have to say, this is a fantastic change from COD4, I really like it. Still getting used to it, only average 1-3 kills per 5 min game. I've been setting up Team Death Match games. The only thing I don't like about the game, is if you want to play a long match then you have to all modes (which I'm not keen on). Would rather just play Team Death Match for a longer time, cause 5 mins isn't enough. And there is no Free For All.
Oh well, can't have anything and the positives outweigh the negitives, so I'm happy I'm sticking with it.

my favourite trophy... at least the one that made me smile the broadest is the 75 kills with the knife trophy. I did say I was a knife whore.  Its so overpowered though. Much much more effective than a full on/close proximity shotgun which sometimes doesn't kill the enemies. With the knife, it kills them in 2 slashes. Most times, its only 1 slash. Its so good and hilarious to run up to where they're hiding and slash them to death.
I cant comment on the online component because sadly I sit here speed capped til the 2nd of March. Bleh.

also on all the grenade - six axis bullshit comments - I read them with the iphone so I couldnt be bothered typing a long ass post but I don't get what the complaint was. The grenade in this game is no different than in any other FPS. You press R2, you throw it. The six axis implementation is invisible to me and I managed to kill 5 helghast with 1 grenade netting me a trophy. Honestly don't know what he was bitching about. Its not as hokey as Uncharted's mostly retarded grenade six-axis mess.
so far... the only implementations of six axis visible to me:
a) load scene but that is COOL! Its like a 3D lenticular diorama. Very nice. Makes loading somewhat interesting/interactive.
b) turning valves + putting on a wall bomb. Honestly, they're not that bad. R1+R2 + turn six axis. Quite complimentary to the action I thought.

I've been away from the forums for a day or two.
What have I missed?
Dammit! Why? I would've loved to have seen Ugh's post if it merited a mod edit.
It's funny to see people argue over a game, it proves that there are people who think of games as more then just a hobby. IMO, these people are nerds, there are more important things going on in life.
Oh well, maybe getting Killzone 2 tomorrow will cheer me up.
Oh and Ugh, last time I checked, tough guys don't post on gaming forums.

Not that I was part of the argument, but speaking down to people on a forum is weak as p*ss. Anybody can do that, sure, trash the game for whatever reasons you think are valid but lowering yourself to actually try and insult people on a game forum? That is just straight up lame. Stay on topic: the game.

Best achievement I have so far:
Demonslayer.
I can't tell you WHAT it's to do with, but it's a trophy for doing something in under 20 minutes. And I did it on Veteran too *thrust*.
And MP is now frustrating me. My rank is too high and there are NO AU servers I can join cos of it

A ps3 vs 360 arguement will happen because they are the two consoles that everyone compares gamewise, and they do differ slightly.
Having played few ps3 fps's i could only compare to Halo 3 which was hyped as much as this game graphics and such wise.
Everyone will have their own opinons about it and resulting into a flaming match wont resolve everything. You could list millions of reasons why you prefer something over something else but so could the other person and in the end if you have both, does it really matter? Its not like killzone 2 is a game you can just run out and buy on a different console and have a different experience (albeit controller wise) because it doesnt exist elsewhere.
That being said, i still believe that Halo 3 was more engaging/exciting by this stage, i have seen a few glitches here and there, and some annoying things. e.g. hitting an enemy in the head 4 times, seeing blood come off it and all but he still walks around shooting me.
I have enjoyed quite a few moments, not quite as epic as other games i felt but still pretty good.
The sixaxis control is kinda annoying, like in the middle of the battle all of a sudden everything stops for u to rotate the controller a certain way with 2 buttons pressed down.
I would like to hold more than 1 good weapon but i guess im just spoilt from other games with that. I found the pistol pretty useless...
Also this is probably the first game on my ps3 that ive played this long with the dualshock sticks, is anyone getting the familiar dualshock area soreness in the middle of your thumb after playing awhile?

Picked this up yesterday and must say that despite having a great deal going for it, the game's controls will hurt its popularity over the long haul. Love the look, weapons and universe (not keen on the meat-headed space marine dialogue though)- but how Guerilla managed to come up with a set of controls that are simultaneously lethargic and flighty is beyond me. I've now spent two days with the game, and whilst I've been able to adapt to the controls, it's not an experience that I've clicked with.
Remember the first time you played COD4? - controls felt right from the get go. People can argue all they like about KZ2's more "realistic" controls, though I'd argue that this is simply a cop-out to explain away the questionable control system. Alternate 2 works fine in regard to button placement - the issue for me is how it controls. There's no doubting that it's a fantastic looking game that should have the 360 scared - shame it handles like a pig on skates...

Yeah the controls really do suck.. but the sixaxis as a whole does also. sony did not think about the people with bigger hands, and i don't find the controller ergonomic at all. getting cramps and putting up with the sixaxis design really shits me and is detracting from my game experience, but still i love the game and i keep coming back for more.. even if it means i go through pain XD.

I like the sixaxis controls, turning the switches is awesomely done, esp when you have to hold the buttons to grab it with ur hands, so much attention to detail.

What I'm trying to say is that people who are attacking people personally via internet forums are nerds. In fact, I completely agree with you, we can discuss and disagree on things, but having a go because of disagreements on a game is simply sad.
Also there are a lot of different kinds of people on the forums, there are family men, kids, young adults. Lots of people.
Also, I joined this place because I was trying to find something on a 40gb PS3.
Then I became addicted.

He as far as i have known him will tell it like it is.
As long as I have known ugh he speaks his mind no matter what.
He will tell it the way it is whether it is profanic extreme or blunt to your your face.
You have no idea about him.
He is passionate and is the most game oriented person on here.
I know you people know I know him but all he has quoted is the truth, and for people that can't read his synopsis of what he was getting at need their head checked because it all read right to me.
Read it again from a Gamers perspective.

From these people I know this game has been hyped bey0ond all recognition..and fair enough , thats what the PR people get paid for, all the light shading this n that etc..all i have heard it is sub par.
Will let you know on the definitive judgement after I have played it.
But so far from what I have heard sounds like the Ai is good but blande, s'more gameplay of old.
I'm waiting to be impressed, let ya's know afterwards/

I don't have anything personal against ugh at all. I just took exception to his initial post, because it seemed to be entirely conflicting with itself, and did seem to put across a hidden agenda without ever giving sound justifications (read: xbot).
Then I took particular exception to his name calling rants and unnecessarily piss-poor attitude that should never, ever be seen on a forum. And the worst part is that it's spiteful and inflammatory, and draws everyone else into it too (myself being no exception).
Honestly, that's the sort of behaviour I was used to dealing with 10 years ago, at high school. And not even the latter high school years. So what's it doing here?
So no, that's not passion, it's childishness.

My REALLY BURNING question, having played online quite a bit- is this:
Why is it that some servers you join, you can have crystal clear communication, with absolutely no problems. Yet the next server you join, even with just 1 person talking they are entirely unintelligible. And no one can hear me either!
Being a 32 player server, I cannot imagine KZ2 servers are EVER hosted locally- but maybe I'm mistaken? Does anyone know the exact backend process to server creation? Who runs all these servers? Or, when someone creates a game, do they create it on an external server, ala Left4Dead?
Really can't nut this part out, but I do know how frustrating it is to play a whole slew of maps one after the other and your team gets absolutely trounced because there's no cooperation at all.

Thought I'd add this too: the new 1.01 patch we had to download just before FIXED THAT DAMNED ERROR 931 I was getting! Yay, we can all happily play online now no matter how overloaded the region is!

I notice that talking while playing killzone can sound a bit odd, i just assumed it was due to region differences and lag while in game. I'm sure this wont be much of a problem when your in squads thou cause i find the lobby a bit distracting with 4 people trying to talk at once.
is there a clan yet? i'll need an invite if its running on that system.
