Adventure: The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker or Metriod Prime (both GCN)
Action: Viewtiful Joe (GCN)
RPG: Mario and Luigi Superstar Saga (GBA)
Platform: Prnce of Persia (PS2...grrr...stupid Sony exclusivity)
Sport: SSX 3 (All Platforms)
Shoot em up: hmmm...cant think of one.
Fighting: Soul Calibur 2 (All Platforms- GCN wins for Link)
Why arent other genres added? Like Racing for example. Or Survival Horror. Or worst LOTR game?

Platform: Haven't played any worth mentioning this year, unless you want to count Viewtiful Joe which is a platform game with action elements.
Sport: Haven't played any worth mentioning this year.
Shoot em up: XIII (XBOX, PC, PS2-haven't played PS2 version but I hear it's good)
Fighting: Soul Calibur 2 (GCN, XBOX, PS2)

I second that...or however many it's been.
Under adventure in my earlier post should be Zelda: Collector's thingy (you know the new one), way better than WW, or at least half of it is, and with twice as much adventuring.
