well not surprising as in china every train you get on, you are guaranteed to see someone playing one or even more. the only problem is how many of these people actually buy games with them as shops sell them off the shelf with hacked firmware _________________

Is anyone that owns a psp in Australia some what annoyed by EB's approach to the console?
They will do anything to sell a console to you, but then they give you the worst selection of software that they could and never order in new stock...
Which is strange cause when I worked in retail there was better profit in selling the software than the console.
JB has such a better range. And GAME has a small range but somewhat better titles.
EB just seems to have given up.

SCE Asia decided not to release any psp consoles into China mainland long ago, therefore those psp sold in china actually come from Hong kong, Taiwan or Japan(playstation Asia region). So u really can't get umd game in China anyway. Plus hacked firmware is very common worldwide, people from Japan and US use them too when they can purchase. I had a trip to Japan before for uni exchange, the students there told me that there are only two kinds of people buy UMD:1)u really really love this game like Monster hunter ect;2)u don't know to do do hacked firmware and are scared to brick the psp.

EB has pretty much given up on the PSP. We don't even have a coming soon/new release section anymore, and I'd be surprised if we even have an actual PSP section by the end of the year and just bookend it to the PS2 section or something.
Compared to all the other consoles (including the PS2 and especially the DS) it just doesn't sell. I'd say (in my store at least) we only sell a PSP game to 1 out of every 30 to 40 customers, and an actual console hardly ever.
It really is a shame, as I own a PSP and I'm still quite fond of it, even if I do only dust it off for one afternoon once every couple of months.
But back on topic, 50 million units is a pretty respectable number I suppose.
