TF2 highlander forum challenge

Hey guys, over on the PCPP forums we have recently been putting together a few 9 v 9, one of each class (aka "highlander") games of TF2 against other forums such as OCAU and Whirlpool and we would like to extend an invitation for PALGN to join us PC version only sorry.

Main emphasis is on a fun game, while still being somewhat competitive with future potential of taking the concept a step further.

If there is any interest from the PALGN community, add "Koga #monks" or "+PCPP+ Obi-Wan" to steam friends for a chat

note the game is down to start at 8:30PM AEDT 20/02/09, however the server will be up from 8pm to allow people time to get in and for both teams to organise themselves.

Spectators are welcome. however any abuse of spectator slots or extra players on a team will result in the server slots being reduced to 18 icon_sad.gif

No real need to have your "own" server when GameArena's game create is available, you can book a server for up to 4 hours and you have complete control via rcon pretty much. So the server will be run of GameArena's Game Create system, which is what we have been using so far and what we use on a weekly basis for socials. It seems to work quite well

I could, but like i said it all depends on when it's on and how stable my internet is.

Good to see you guys are interested.

Now in response to your questions, respawn timers will be on default. They vary based on the map, if your attacking/defending and a few other variables I do believe. So they will be exactly the same as if you joined any normal server run by GA, internode, etc, that do not have insta spawn or anything like that on.

Yes we are treating these as just a fun community experience on our end, so I don't see why you guys shouldn't do the same, however that doesn't mean we shouldn't be competitive as well We are trying to give everyone a go on our end so don't worry about skill levels, I am sure we will be quite even.

We should be good for any time this or next week, or whenever. The games will have a 30 minute no stalemate timer, or first to 6 caps on a CP map (so you are looking at around an hour for the highlander game, after which we can open the server up to for both forums members to have a game). On which maps we play, each team gets to pick one so its fair, however CTF maps don't tend to work to well and we avoid custom maps.
