Dammn this sux, 360 version looks better than the Ps3. This throws a spanner into the works bigtime. I did buy Soul Calibur IV for the Ps3 over the 360 version and it doesn't bother me one bit that the 360 version looks better, infact I can't see the differences even with the screens side by side. GTAIV I could see the differences but imo the Blu-Ray format, the TV stations etc just outweighed that graphical aspect so I was actually more suited towards the Ps3 version. I guess I should stop worrying and stick with the Ps3 version cuz imo Ps3 controller, free online and blu-ray format outweigh some minor graphical details I probably won't even notice. I am very tempted to buy both versions though, but I would prefer the bonus content (anime movies) on a blu-ray, so I guess I might aswell stick with the Ps3 version and then buy the 360 version if I get real anal about it.
Man if only Xbox Live was free I would choose the 360 version in a heartbeat cuz i'm getting a good controller for it. Actually now that I think of it, i'm spending close to $400 on this, actually i've SPENT $400 already cuz it cost me $197 for the two Fight Pads and i've paid off my collector's edition....so yea....already plonked down $00 for this, I really shouldn't have to spend any more, costumes, characters whatever! Infact $400! Am I stupid! Fuck the stupid Ultra Collector's Edition, i'm gonna go downgrade mine to the regular Collector's Edition! Spending $400 on one game is just fucking stupid I don't care if it's Resident Evil, Street Fighter or uGh the fucking boot, it's too much! _________________

I'm sure you won't be able to tell the difference between the 360 and PS3 unless you are a super anal freak and have the luxury of comparing them side by side. Just stick with the PS3 if your geared towards that way. Capcom have done a great job with their 360/PS3 ports, so I see no reason they will stuff this up.
If I could get a copy of the anime on dvd/blu-ray by itself I'd probably not bother getting the $200 CE. Then again, if the costumes are indeed LIMITED, they might be worth owning....
Anyway, I pre-ordered a KEN fight pad from play-asia today. Since the game is getting released OS before us hopefully we'll all get our controllers before the game hits on 20th Feb.
Yeah Ugh, get the 360 as well, then I can play ya What's Zarnoss getting it on? _________________ Shin J Leon.

I'm feeling the same way, I plunked $200 down on the CE for the PS3 version. Though, as LeonJ mentioned, the graphical differences arent that much to worry about, its street fighter. The controller investment required for the 360 version outweighs any minor graphical differences for me, though, I have 360 only mates who will want to play me and based on how SSF2THDR plays on PSN........ I'm worried about that too.
By about what time will we know about the various specials on the CE? Or is it only GAME, EB and JB who are stocking it? Surely someone has to crack and offer it for less than 200 ********* dollars?
and yes ugh, you are insane for spending $400 already, but, if your like me and have played street fighter seriously your entire life and love capcom...... Im afraid your kinda stuck.
How much are the SE controllers from play-asia? _________________

^ $90ish delivery (express). Hrmm, need to get me a USB extension as well while I'm at it. Having to use a USB doogle and batteries with the PS3 controller stunk, that's why ultimately made me decide to go with the 360 version.
This is probably the only game I'd quite happily get ripped off on, which we are. I remember changing my pre-order for Fallout 3 going to pick it up because I didn't think the extras were worth the money. Bioshock was probably the only game in recent memory that had a awesome CE at a resonable price. _________________ Shin J Leon.

Zarnoss only has a 360 so he's got no choice and I can go over to his place and challenge mates there. It's much more fun trash talking in person aswell.
What's the deal with all the extra content? This is the information i've currently gathered:
Normal edition - Comes with game, nothing else.
Collector's edition - Comes with game, dvd/blu-ray with anime movies and code for downloadable content.
Ultimate Collector's Edition - Comes with all the above and Crimson Viper and Ryu figurine. That's it.
Imo the middle option (regular collector's edition) is the best option for me cuz I actually hate figurines. They're fucking stupid! I barely had any interest in them as a kid and I don't have any interest in them now.
Can anyone confirm what is actually in these 3 different packs? I'm hearing reports the Ultimate Collector's Edition gets all the anime content and downloadble costumes along with the figurines, so if this is the case then what the hell is in the regular collector's edition? There's gotta be something extra to differentiate it from the regular edition? _________________

Manekast - Exactly! I've been playing Street Fighter since part 1. Have I told you guys the story of that? Got real serious on Hyper fight though, that's when I got competitive. Street Fighter 2 was all cheaps like little, punch constantly then blade kick when computer jumps in and then in challenges is was invisible throws and golden stance all that cheap crap so yea hyper fight is where I got down and dirty.
I have a feeling this will be the last proper Street Fighter game....well atleast for a very long time and I figured may aswell go out with a bang and get all the gear but honestly if this is the last then it may be the last time I play these fighting games seriously (3d games are just too complex and fiddley, also move lists allow for too much room for error, SF is simple, simple moves and simples commands, just challenging to perfect and time.....that's how I prefer fighting games) so why should I bother getting real expert with all this awesome equipment? I'm torn!
I'm also fearing the Ps3's netcode! Bah....it might just be best to get the 360 version! After all I mainly play Street Fighter by myself nowadays anyways (hard to find good competition) so i'll probably only use the online component sparringly, still it would be good to jump online at any point in time for a challenge. _________________

Oh really? Ok i'll just keep the $199 version. I'd pay that alone for another street fighter manga, especially one in hd! It's been ages since street fighter the animated movie, everything else was crap.
That website that was posted which says the 360 version is better, there is an awesome link there which shows some good screens and vids. I only looked at a couple of screens (to avoide spoilers) but they're really sharp.
Here's the link, be warned though....heaps of screens:

True, but that doesn't mean all the characters weren't born yet or anything. They managed to include all the characters in SFA3 which was set years before. _________________ Werbegeschenke Fullservice

^ Holy Shit!! Replay mode and Enhanced Tournament Matching System sounds fucking RADDD!!!!! Man this sux! The wait!! The pain! The hurting..
The fact that all these modes aren't gonna be out of the box really sux! I hate this mentality devs have now, just get the game out, add features, clean up bugs etc as needed! Yea that reeks of greed, like Gran Turismo Prologue! Fuck this shit guys! We gotta make a stand....somehow! No more imcomplete crap! _________________

Well at least it's free and I dare say the enchanced matchmaking will be tested when the game is Live. I guess it's better to have the game in our hands and let the devs do their thing in the background. Still, feels a bit imcomplete.
HOWEVER, the value for money with this game is incredible. Anime intros/endings for all characters and it sounds like the game is jammed packed full of features.
Has anybody played tournements on SSF2HD? It really does work, it's a great alternative to playing online. _________________ Shin J Leon.

if it's not, don't forget to print off a 15% off voucher from the EB website.
in fact, you should pair up on the boards, get one person to invite someone else, who joins (even if it's a Hotmail account made explicitly to "exploit" the vouchers - i bought WoW: WotLK CE with a voucher made out to "Arthas Menethil" - who is the Lich King) and you each get a 15% off voucher.
hell, even if it did drop to $170... that's still a further $25 discount.
EDIT: don't PM me, i'm not interested in the game at all, just planting the seeds of ideas on the board to save some of you money.
EDIT2: oh, and the vouchers are only valid for 1 week, so don't start printing them off until a few days before release. _________________

IMO all fighting games should have this stuff as default. The first Tekken did it, they all should be upto snuff by now. The Street Fighter ending back in the day were awesome! Blanka's was classic! They were all within constraints of the current tech back then but i've always wished for anime/manga intros for street fighter (it suits the anime/manga style imo) aswell as endings, when I heard this was going to be included in SFIV I was overjoyed but lost some of that joy when I found out it was all gonna be on a seperate disc and it's not even part of the game really. Huge dissapointment actually but atleast there is some more manga/anime Street Fighter goodness. It better be rater MA15+ though cuz I don't want some G rated tip tap shit!
The trend of being incomplete is what worries me. I'm all good for getting Street Fighter this month but if they told me a couple of months ago i'd be getting it in March or April or whenever then i'd obviously set my sights for those dates. Look i've wanted Resident Evil 5 the minute I opened the packaing for Part 4 but I only want that game (or any game for that matter) when it's 100% complete. Like in 30 years time when my son or niece or nephew or grandson/daughter whoever wants to play it....I want them to pop the disc in and away they go with 100% of the game....no downloads no updates NOTHING!!! Chances are by then whatever updates or downloads you needed for these games won't just be a simple option on your dashboard to 'update', you'll probably have to log onto the internet and find some obscure site with all the content and then copy it to a disc then copy it to your console. The only way to avoid this of course is to keep your 360 that you have now forever but there is just no way hardware nowadays is that stable....plus this is the 360 we're talking about, chances are whatever console you will need to play it on 30 years from now won;t be the one you're using now.
And yes I know this is a pretty far fetched point but hey....when was the last time you played super mario world? Yea exactly!! Almost 2 decades old and some of us were only playing it yesterday! If you're as big a Street Fighter nut as I am you will be playing this for years to come and you don't wanna fricken have to update it when these updates are hard to get cuz obviously there is just no way it is gonna be on the disc you plop in....well it used to didn't! *siggghhhh*
Edit: Damn I pre-ordered from GAME, guess I can't use the EB thingo. _________________

Nah what I meant was instead of making the intros and endings fully animated they've stuck with the original style of pictures/artwork and then they've gone and created an anime/manga as extra content. Imo the game would be much more polished and complete had the manga/anime incorporated into the story/game or as the characters intros and endings. There would obviously be an option to skip had you seen it all before but it would be a more complete product like this. I mean this is a game after all, why the fuck do I have to watch some seperate anime/manga? So endings etc are still in the game it's just not what I thought it would be which is a huge missed opportunity imo.
Kinda like the Sonic CD and Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow anime. It's just teaser crap, I want it to be part of the game like Geppy X (look it up if you have no idea what it is, it's a 2d shmup/anime). _________________

I see what you are saying, but having an extra full length anime as a lead up to the game is fantastic I think. If they have anime intro/endings as well for all (20+) character, then you are getting awesome value. The whole Dead Space experience was heightened so much more because of the comics and full length anime movie.
I love this trend.

Well i'm not sure what's in this new version of Street Fighter IV, i think it's gone back to the old style....basically endings like in Street Fighter 2: The World Warrior. Infact there are no character intros, just a couple of pictures at the end when you clock it....in other words...LAME!
The anime/manga that you get on a seperate disc is supposed to only be around 40 mins long and it features every character so your faves will probably only get a couple of minutes screen time....in other words...LAME but atleast the quality of the anime (in other words the drawings) look to be inline with Street Fighter: The Animated Movie so i'm hoping the content is mature like in that manga. Also the fact that it's in HD makes it look really nice, but whether or not the movies is actually any good remains to be seen and whether it adds anything to the game....I hightly doubt it. _________________

$169.95 - 15% webmail voucher is say around $150, now were talking. Can you go in with a web mail voucher, say, tomorrow, and just finalise the deal?
I think, what MS is planning and Sony is for us all to keep our gamertags from console to console, remembering all the extras and DLC we ever got, enabling us to use it for the future. Thus, tying us to one, the other, or both forever.
Pretty much decided to get PS3 CE, 2 Street Fighter Controllers for PS3...... then, later down the track, grab the 360 version on special (standard) and another two fighting controllers, so all my friends are happy............ Id do anything for six franchises: Street Fighter, Resident Evil, Final Fantasy, Mario, Zelda and Dragon Quest.
Sorry that was off topic a little, cant wait to play you all when SF4 finally lands. I have had a media blackout so I havent even SEEN it in action. _________________
