Well I thought it was a good movie, it definetely made up for Reloaded. The ending was fitting I thought, I mean who really thought it would end with man kind destroying the machines? I just hope they don't make some lame sequel where Neo is alive (he already rose from the dead once), and people have to go back in the matrix since life cannot be sustained on earth (seriously looks that way).

Umm they didn't. Peace was declared because Neo saved the machines from Smith.

Anyway I think that another sequel will be attempted but not by Andy and Larry themselves.

You seem to be coming across as saying "Everyone who thinks it sucks didn't get it". In that case, you're quite wrong.

Sure, i could be wrong, but i could also be right.

I saw Revolutions with 8 people, 6 of them didn't like it because the ending wasn't spelt out ofr them. They wanted to know what 'the matrix' was, regarding if it really was real life or another layer of an even more bigger matrix, or other countless number of theories that surfaced after the screening of 'reloaded'.

Having the open ending of REvolutions turned off a large number of viewers. Most people ACTUALLY like things spelt out for them, they WANTED to be told what the matrix was all about. I'm not just basing it on my friends, but of other people who i've spoken to about the film, the reviews found in newspapers/magazines/internet forums.

Based on these factors i have had regarding to Revolutions, was exactly that; the people that did not like it all said it was a let down, that it was still unclear to them. Everybody is diffenerent, and you might get a diffrenent answers from the poeple you have conversations of the movie with, but for the poeple i haven't spoken to all seemed to agree that they didn't like it because they didn;t understand it; and some of them have viewed it more than once also.

mad_ro, I totally agree with you.

When I saw Reloaded, I didn't have the SLIGHTEST clue what the Architect said. I still don't, and I've seen the DVD of it several times. In that case, it would have been better to dumb down the philosophy and explain, perhaps with an analogy, what the hell he was trying to convey.

In Revolutions, it would have helped me understand the storyline better if it were explained to me instead of them assuming I had an ESP link with the Wachowski brothers. icon_neutral.gif

Anyways, I still think Revolutions was a good popcorn flick, and I think the Dock Breach was one hell of an action scene. Sure, Revolutions has its faults, but I went in with minimal expectations, and came out thinking it was good. Not great, not average, but just good.

Oooh! Now i want a pamper treatment.

Well Bronze at what exact point of the architect's overdrawn speech did you not understand? I wouldn't blame you if you said all of it, it took me repeated viewings to even *grasp* a little of it, but here's what he said (i think, of my memory) in more of our 'normal language':

The architect basically tells Neo that he is not the first 'saviour' of the people, in fact he is the sixth 'one' to walk walk through his door. ANd each time, they all chose the same path: to reload the Matrix.

He then also tells Neo about the revised history of the Matrix. According to what he tells Neo, the Matrix itself has been re-loaded 4 times, all because each Matrix was all a failure.

The first Matrix that was loaded, gave the human's paradise, a perfect world. But it failed as the human's thought it was a dream and expected to wake up soon.

The second Matrix gave human's a more 'realistic' setting. But it too was rejected, As it didn't give any of the human's a choice in their actions.

The third Matrix gave the human's the illusion of a choice. And alas it worked VERY WELL, but not perfect. Only 99% of humans accepted it.

The fourth Matrix, included everthing the third one has, and added the city 'Zion'. It was here that the 1% of the humans that rejected the matrix were lead to, making them beleive that they were actually rebelling against the matrix.

There is a lot more to be added here, but it is WAY too long to type out. If any questions, please ask.

The Architect – The Matrix is older than you know. I prefer counting from the emergence of one integral anomaly to the emergence of the next in which case this is the 6th version.

Mate he says "the emergence of one integral anomaly to the emergence of the next"... Meaning there could be a lot more than 6 versions! It's just taken from one integral to the next..

The Matrix (and subsequently its sequals) is one of thse movies you have to watch a number of times to properly get. Alot of my friends came out of the movie saying they 'hated' it, and I'm not going to aimlessly convince anyone that they are wrong, they are stupid, they are a 'moron' because (and i know this is lame) it all comes down to 'choice.' You can like it, or you not like it. It really doesnt make a difference in the grand sceme of things, because a year will go by, everyone will forget, and regardless of what anyone says, the movie is likely to make some retardedly stupid amound of money (The Matrix made $171mil, Reloaded made over $700mil).

Back to my first point, about looking into the movie alot more. How many people didn't really understand the Architech the first time? icon_rolleyes.gif Fair enough, I didn't really either. But, after watching the DVD and being able to take time to take it all in, it really isn't that hard to understand.

I really doesn't matter if you understand the story or not, its what you personally make of the movie. My girlfriend didn't quite get the first Matrix the first time she saw it, but it taught her something. You are free to do anything as long as you put your mind to it. The Matrix was intended to be more than just a Good Vs Evil classic cliche story.

It's funny to watch over the movies on Dvd though, and pick up little things that you never got the first time. Things like the brief shot of the Architech's video monitors in the first movie before Neo is interigated. The interigation room number is '101' and anyone in year 12 who reads George Orwells '1984' will understand what that means. And something as completely obvious as the names chosen for the characters and places.

'Neo=One.'

'Zion=Biblical name for Jerulsalm'

(I know none of this has anything to do with what I just said. I just think its cool when you find out weird things in backstories of movies)

I could go on forever but I wont, because I'd probably just be repeating what you already know. Basically all I am trying to say is, If you hate it; Well I'm sorry you couldn't find something to like about it. If you liked it; Good, but don't try and force your opinions on others. Remember it's just a movie.

Oh well, I guess we will have to all wait for the matrix online.

Remember to visit www.thematrixonline.com

Moving off topic, does anyone know when the Lizzie Mcguire Movie gets its Region 4 DVD release? I ask because, my little sister............. icon_rolleyes.gif

Please share with me what it means. I've read 1984 but don't really remember much of it.

I thought that, as you know, 101 in binary is 5, which is how many previous "one's" there have been, and hence why the architect calls him the remainder of a complex balanced equation. it's all to do with maths in the architects mind!

After reading in to this, i've decided that the 101 theory from 1984 really doesn't have much to do with The Matrix. Sure, it's the room that nobody wanted to go in to in The Matrix, but 101 plainly represents Neo has he is The One. You'll notice at the end of the first matrix, the room he tries to go in to before he dies is 303. This of course stands for Trinity, thus being the "TRI" in Trinity, and if you look up Trinity in the dictionary, you'll understand why the 303 relates with the 101. Neo was trying to reach Trinity because either 1. she was on the phone in the next room, 2. he has a boner for her and wanted to get back out of the matrix to see her again, or 3. subconciously he knew that she would save his life if the agent killed him, so that led him to room 303.

What isn't understood yet is in the Matrix Reloaded we see the number 101 on the floor as the tribe enters the merovingian's restaurant, and we see it again on the freeway as well as the number 303.

Maybe it means nothing. Maybe we are supposed to get our own interpretation from it. Maybe there are so many possible meanings for it icon_smile.gif

Oh and for those who didn't understand, room 101 is the room in 1984 where they were brainwashed into believing what wasnt true. There are so many theories for the Matrix. Some are pretty definate, some are just theories. Take what you want from it icon_smile.gif

The room Neo goes into at the end of the first movie is also the exact same room that Trinity in at the beginning of the film. Same hotel, same room.

Inside the Nebuchadnezzar, a plaque is shown briefly in the background with the ship's name, and 'Mark 3 no. 11.' This is likely a reference to the Biblical verse Mark 3:11: "And whenever the unclean spirits saw him, they fell down before him and cried out saying, 'You are the Son of God.'"

Decides to shut up icon_smile.gif

Finally saw it. It was alright. Wasn't particularly hyped, and saw what I expected. Not a bad movie, but could have been better.
