Sharing the love. Certainly a game everyone should play and now ps3 owners may get a chance. 360 owners can't complain because they are getting FFXIII in exchange.

That's if this is true anyway.

Man I haven't played mass effect for like 10 months. I need to stick that back in my 360. Maybe they will fix some of the graphical issues in the ps3 version.

I thought Microsoft owned the publishing rights for Mass Effect, while EA now owns the IP to the series. I can't see how ME can be ported to the PS3 unless Microsoft sold the rights to EA to publish it again. If it's true Microsoft must have made a good amount of money on it. Even if the game is over a year old!

As for sequels, I don't think anyone ever believed it would still be a 360 exclusive. Just means the game will have more bugs and be less as impressive, or take longer to be released. Joy.

My mitts are quite clean, thank you very much. icon_wink.gif

Not surprising really, but still good news, as I loved the first, it was an incredible game, though I wouldn't bother re-purchasing the first if it's ported (have it on PC)

I dunno if it's even that surprising that it got ported... it was inevitable, but I'm not wanting an RPG for PS3 at the moment, as Fallout has me more than happy at the moment

Hold on a sec -
I know that Bioware is EA owned ...
However a Microsoft Game Studios game will now be ported over to the PS3???
Isnt that a bit odd...

I got the impression this is still just a rumor... However, it seems inevitable that the trilogy will come to PS3 now that it published by EA. Doesn't really bother me tbh, as long as I still get to play them on my 360 I'll be happy.

This is great news if true... I'm not too worried about the first one cause I've got that on the 360, but if others were to be released then i'd certainly get them for the PS3 (my primary console). Mass Effect would be one of the last great exclusives on the 360 though, so I doubt Microsoft would want to let it go that easy.

BioWare own the IP rights to Mass Effect, meaning they can do whatever they like with the game.

EA own BioWare, so they can do whatever they like with the developer.

From the look of things, Microsoft only ever had the publishing rights to the first Mass Effect game. Nonetheless, a deal over ME was done between Microsoft and EA last year (see here). Only time will tell whatever decision was made regarding console exclusivity.

As a 360 owner and a huge fan of Mass Effect, this can only be great news if it is indeed true. The more people who get to play this awesome franchise the better.

Am I the only one that's finding the response to this news compared to the response to FF 13 going multi platform hilarious?

Hilarious? No - more cautiously pleased. Nice to see such positive comments about the posting of an 'exclusive' game for a change. Let's just hope it stays that way.

I tend to agree with most above - the more that get to play ME, the better. Not a revolutionary game by any means, and I don't think it quite lived up to it's own hype, but it was still a damned good game with some lush visuals and memorable moments.

@ Benza: I think I was away from the boards when that was announced.. What was the reaction like? just random arguing for the sake of arguing?

Never really saw anything in Mass Effect, but I'll give it another look if it gets a port. I'm always up for a new experience.

Good thing Commentator gives his consent, otherwise EA and BioWare would have a problem. icon_rolleyes.gif

I don’t care where BioWare / EA put the Mass Effect trilogy as long as PC is included and in no way, shape, or form hampered. If graphical effects are added to the PS3 version I want them patched on PC, damnit.

Good news if true though. I have a friend who I know for sure would love Mass Effect, but sadly only owns a PS3.

If this goes ahead, the very least they should do is fix the arseing inventory system!

The one thing that really got my goat about ME was the frustrating and time consuming process of having to scroll down all the way through you list a several hundred items each time you wanted to sell something.

*Scroooooooolllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll*
*Sell*
*Scrrrrroooooooooooolllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll*
*Sell*
*Scrrrrrrrrrooooooooooollllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll*
*Sell*
*crack the shits and start playing something else*

Remedy; realise that 99% of the shit in your inventory is completely, utterly useless and not worth having.

The inventory is admittedly poorly designed, but much easier to manage when you start selling all those weapons, mods, and armours you’ve picked up. A vast majority of it isn’t worth keeping around, especially since you pick up a lot of ‘old’ stuff.

Best to just keep your inventory consisting of equipped items and the occasional other ‘extra’.

There...There were fanboys everywhere. People seemed to voice a feeling of betrayal akin to their wife of 15 years having an affair.

I found myself pretty much selling all of my equipment, aside from the stuff I was wearing and a few tailored upgrades like anti-synthetic rounds/anti-bio rounds.

From what I have heard it is all about getting the right developer to do the port... Bioware want nothing to do with PS3 In any development form but have no troubles with another developer doing the port... Let's hope EA Redmond are the guys to take it up... after Dead Space they are the perfect choice.

By far the best rpg I've ever played, I bought the pc version. Cant wait for me2. Hope the ps3 fanboys don't pull another 'bioshock' and start complaining about how the game is old and outdated when they get it. Just like bioshock its a must have no matter what platforms you own imo. And hey maybe the ps3 version wont lag as much as the 360 version. icon_biggrin.gif

That and the X-box fanboys saying "HAHA THE SONY IS WORTHLESS NOW LOL EVERYONE THAT OWNS ONE IS A LOSER"

It was kind of hilarious on both sides to be honest.

Hopefully since Sony has a hard on for mandatory installs they'll install it on the PS3 and get rid of those fucking elevator loading bits...
