Both must have games IMO, and both came out last week. I have had the benefit to enjoy them both this past couple of days. Call of duty easily surpasses MOH:AA in terms of gameplay and atmosphere. It is so immersive that it is totally beleivable to the player. Definetly one for the shooter fans out there, and the best WW2 game EVER.

MAX payne 2 has to be seen to be believed. i would say it is probably the best graphical game i have ever seen, with up to 6 samples of anti-aliasing featured. (OF course you need a mid to high end PC to enjoy it in full), gameplay wise is ALMOST the same to the first, but the new addition of 'secondary weapon' was sorely missing in the first one, and is an excellent addition to the second one.

THe only annoying thing about MP2 is the DREAM SEQUENCES ARE BACK!!! AARRRGGGHH!!!

SO when can we expect PALGN to get some reviews for this two A-Class titles?

Sometime in late December for Max Payne 2, and whenever the hell the console ports of Call of Duty are rekeased, because we don't review PC games.

It's a crying shame there's no reviews for PC gamers. PC games, if optimised correctly, are always a step above console games. It always will. Maybe PalGN needs PC reviewers? I know that some of you have high end PC's.......

A consideration for the future, but I think that we'd probably only be able to cover the absolute most hyped titles, because there's so much more going on in the PC gaming world. The whole reviewing machine specs is another issue when you're running the site out of the pockets of the staff.

I'll have a new rig in a couple of weeks, but for the time being PC stuff will probably be limited to the forums.

Im going to get MP2 very soon.

Ive heard its at a very high standard game and the graphics are even more amazing than the last.

I cant wait to pull of some mad new matrix moves, I wonder if they will bring out 'Matrix Reality' for MP2 at some stage..

There was a Matrix mod for Max Payne, I am guessing that's what he's talking about, pretty good, just the guns were a bit over powered. Had some cool stuff like running on walls and stuff. No need to get angry about it.

I wonder if they will do another Kung Fu mod for Max Payne.

Yep, its a matrix mod armageddon12

It used Kung Fu 3.0 and was really superb, They improved on bullet time and on physics of the game.

It was the highest rated Matrix mod for Max Payne, dont know if real world ever came out?

I'm well glad he's gone. I couldn't stand his "Don't kill me coz i;'m constipated" look on his face he had for the entire duration of the game.

Bought Max Payne 2 from America icon_wink.gif just to get it before its Aussie Release. Word of warning for alot of people. If the shortness of the first one pissed you off, stay away. This game can be completed in around 8 hours. However, its one of those games thats completely devoid of aimless wandering, a game that keeps you constantly in dodging bullets and performing cool dives while you fill 17 people full of shotgun pellets.

The physics are amazing, as are the graphics. Voice acting is top notch, and the graphic novels return in tact, as perfect as they ever were. The only real complaint is of its length. Still, I've completed it 3 times (just to get the special ending) and I'm not sick of it. You might complete it in 8 hours, but that really would be a rush through. Stop and smell the roses. Watch every tv program (In the game there are numerous Televisions thats show programs including; Address Unknown, Dick Justice, Lords and Ladies). Look in ever nook and cranny. It really is worth your time.

Alright, managed to get to spend an extended amount of time with these two titles on the weekend.

Call of Duty: Do not know what anyone sees in this - it's just MOH: AA all over again. Linearity and an overreliance on scripted events seriously hamper any replayability, especially considering the limited difficulty. WWII shooters just don't impress me anymore. 5/10

Max Payne 2: Brilliant. Far too easy, but very enjoyable while it lasts. Physics are amazing, the gameplay is still there, but the thing I probably liked the most was how the story manages to bring it all together. 9/10

All games tested on a mate's XP2700 w/ 512mb DDR333 and a Radeon 9800pro icon_wink.gif

If anyone's interested, the Max Payne 2 demo is out. I gave it a download yesterday. It's quite short, but it's an acceptable teaser.

Plus, Vinnie Gognitti isthe funniest guy. icon_razz.gif

Just was crusing over some past threads and I must say these 2 games are in my top 10 fave list.

Call of Duty really lived up to my expectations both graphically and gameplay wise.

But Max Payne 2, now heres an awesome game.
I found it to be a great second installment exceeding the original which was great.
And the graphics are probally the best ive seen in a game next to Crystal Chronicles.

It's generally not a good idea, but I go by the ideology a dead thread doesn't equal a dead topic. Since he still contributed to the thread, and what he posted was relevant, I'll leave it open.

On topic, I gave my Omega drivers the boot, and it worked wonders. COD now no longer crashes from my VPU recover kicking in. And ehre I was thinking I needed better cooling...

Silly bump, but it works for me.

I just finished Max Payne 2 last night, and it was utterly fantastic - probably the best game I've played since The Wind Waker and NHL 2K3 (damn hockey fanboyism - just can't put this down, even 5 months later).

Story didn't seem quite as good as the original (but it's been a while, so eh), but the mood of the game is excellent. The gritty graphics, the music (especially the credits song - fantastic. Poets of the Fall - Late Goodbye if you're interested), and that brilliant comic art all contribute to the dark feel of the game.

I thought the length of the game would be a problem, too - but it's not. I was totally satisfied with the 10 odd hours of the bullet dodging fun provided.

Not a revolution, but damn fun. Bring on a threequel.

Still need to get my paws on CoD. Perhaps that new 'special' pack. Oh well, it goes on the list under the crystal box.

hmm sorry, just thought it was a good thread and worth posting in since its still quite revelant.

So whys it so bad to bump threads that are still less than a year old anyway? on other forums its never been a bad thing to do icon_confused.gif

Oh, goody! More people to be befriended then betrayed by! ^^

Like Quin said, our history with spammers has not been pretty. Just don't pull an "AGeeDoubleUTeeBee" and spam 13 old topics in one go.
