Ciel: you know how I said the sticks don't allow DP motions if you try to hit the corner and you need to execute quite fast? It's now fixed and will execute a DP move EVERYTIME if you do the Z motion properly. Even slowly. I reckon the next time we have another HD Remix you'll notice a MASSIVE difference in the sticks performance (and I hope the UP direction is broken on my 2nd stick too....)

I got use to them after a few matches, of course it would've been easier and faster if that "retard" gave us all a bit of chance to get use to your sticks (he was using his own stick - what a surprise icon_rolleyes.gif).

Funnily enough after I got use to the sticks I started beating him and each match we had was a lot a closer. I would say I do prefer the faster, tighter movements in the end, but again just needed a little time to make the adjustmenets.

Referring to "el retardo" for a guy who plays it so much online and regularly I was quite unimpressed with his skill level, my expectations was so much higher. icon_smile.gif

You don't need "up" it's an overrated direction. icon_smile.gif

I reckon by the time we organize the next SF session SF4 will be out and we'll all be playing that.

You do make good points craptest...The problem is that i'm now a sucker for collectable stuff("Limited edition" video game related figurines, etc) as i can afford paying extra for some of this stuff -_- Also, some of the features the TE has in a way makes it in a way worth it (The ability to store away the cable, locking button and the ability to assign what the stick does).

I say those features because i already have lots of wires all over the place and i really don't want any more(My room and the place where my bro's computer is are completely cluttered with cables) the other 2 features are actually pretty useful...as they don't have it on my Wii Fighting stick, where the stick is only the Classic Controller's D-pad and when i play Tatsunoko vs Capcom, i'm hitting the home button when i want to pause the game to check the combo list -_-"

Regarding Gamepad vs Arcade stick, For some reason i just cannot use a gamepad....when i play with a gamepad, i can barely do anything fluidly. Also, i can only seem to pull of the easiest super(qcf + 2 punches or something along the lines of that), any other super i pull off is just fluke luck usually. It all really depends on what you played with first (which in my case was with an arcade stick). Sure you can learn the other way, but the 1st method learned for some reason just usually feels more correct imo

Is it me or is the limited edition stuff often the least collectable...

As I said SumAnzGuy Im being the biggest hypocrite. Id probably be buying one if I didnt already have a stick. JUst thought Id throw out some doubt - in case (like me) you're being swept along by pre SFIV excitement.

Your right about limited edition stuff...it really ain't that rare(Except in this case probably -_-). I was going to get a Hori FS3 for $50 at GameTraders but i don't have any fighting games atm so it felt like a waste, that and the button layout (not physical layout but the input layout) is a bit weird. I'm not over-the-top excited by SFIV, but it sure does look awesome....just like the Arcade stick...hahaha I don't know why but i'm trying to justify a purchase i'm making when no one really cares -_-"

The new Fight Sticks look good, but I can't justify $200+ for just one stick! I thought I paid too much for my SC4 Hori EX2, and that was under $100...

I got some from Dick Smith for a project before, worked fine with a normal hair dryer.

Found a place that ships international (cheaper than Video Game Central) and also has $10 off the price for the TE sticks.

http://www.alternativedvd.com/results.cgis?catalog=&keywords=street+fighter+iv+fight+stick

Shipping for 1 stick is still expensive though - $75 USD FedEx International Ecconomy. 2 sticks is about $110 USD i think.

Eggy, you are hardcore.

So does anybody in simple terms know where I can pre-order a Official Street Fighter IV FightStick Tournament Edition stick?

See my above post. (also they don't charge your CC until the product ships)

If you mean in Australia, then there doesn't look like they will be available here, since the demand is too low and the cost will be too high for even most gamers. I think we have a chance to see the regular FightSticks though, but probably not the TE version.

*Head explodes* If it wasn't for the fact that VGC has already charged the card already, i would've switched my pre-order over. -_- I bet trying to cancel the pre-order and reversing the charge would be to bothersome(It's not my card,my bros -_-"), so i'll live with it. It is only $35ish less than what i'm going to pay. Just wondering Eggy, how did you find that site? I google searched a bit before i pre-ordered and VGC was the only site i could really find that would ship internationally over 10 or so search pages...but then again, i just probably suck at searching with google -_-"

I'm constantly reading the Mad Catz SFIV thread on SRK forums, cuz a friend at work is also looking for an opportunity to preorder the 360 TE stick. Whenever there is something new on SRK I'll post it here (hell there is are lot of the same Qs being asked over and over again on SRK).

For people not looking to spend upwards of $300 on a stick, I went into Gamesmen in Penshurst and they had heaps of Hori fighting sticks for PS3 at 90 bucks.

Do they deliver? I don't know where Penhurst is but I bet it's a long way from Perth icon_wink.gif

Edit: Nevermind, found the site. Delivery seems to be about $15-20. Thanks, it's tempting for the Hori Fighting Stick 3.

I'm sure at one point I saw the Hori stick for PS3 in Toys-R-Us for $50 here in Perth. Note this was months ago, way before Christmas.

Are you counting frames of animation though? icon_razz.gif

Honestly when peepz start talking about frames I know they're either full of shit or they're a world class player. I don't think you're the latter, if you are then i'd like to challenge you because I am good. My mates will vouch for that.

For you to be counting frames you need to be able to react within the space of one, so that's spilt second reaction which like I said you really have to be a freak to be doing cuz only the world class players can perfect that and even then there is some guess work and player/pattern memorization.

Honestly if you're not one of the top 1000 players in the world then don't even worry about frames cuz you will get your ass kicked and knowing/not knowing frames won't make a shit bit of difference.

I started learning frames on tekken 3 and up and virtua fighter 4 and up and those were hella hard! For SF you have to be dedicated like you wouldn't believe because it's a much faster game and the level of competition is much much higher for obvious reasons (bigger fan base, oldskooler, better mechanics etc)

So in summary unless you are a world class player the wireless stuff will be more than sufficient. And also who's to say the wireless pads aren't responsive down to the frame? Have you got any proof that they're insufficient? Like I said I can kick ass with the wireless stuff and if you reckon you're pretty good then we'll have at it (asap preferably). I'm on PSN and Xbox live and I have EVERY Streetfighter game (yes every version of each game I just don't have every version for every console). So if you're up for a challenge let me know. The Xbox Live/PSN downloable games included. I'd much prefer a challenge on Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike as I do use parrying a lot but I know the Xbox Live code for that could be better. Maybe a challenge on HD Remix? I don't have Hyper Fighting or New Challengers or whatever it was that came out on Xbox Live before HD Remix. Or we could wait for SFIV.

Actually while i'm at it I challenge you too Eggy. It's one thing knowing about all the different arcade sticks and parts but it's another to actually play well.

^^ Very interesting and articulate comment.

I do agree about the wireless controllers being sufficient enough for most players and you will still kick ass most of the time if you are good.

No way! Do you even have a 360/Ps3? Those controllers work perfectly and i've used a wireless Ps3 controller to play Alpha Anthology...t'was perfect and i've used wireless 360 controller on Street Fighter: Anniversary Collection and that worked perfect too.
Are you counting frames of animation though? icon_razz.gif

For me wireless is fine. Unless its Guitar Hero World Tour on Wii (omg the lag!!). I personally own a wired joystick because its main use is PS2/ PS1 games.

1mpr3gn4t0r was asking about wireless lag and whether it was an issue for SERIOUS players. You said it wasnt an issue and kinda suggested that you yourself were a serious player in a position to comment on such matters. I asked if you counted frames. Half taking this piss btw.

So I was kinda asking you if you were a world class player. I never claimed to be one myself. I even stated that for me 'wireless was fine' (look at the original post).

Having said that I do like to count frames in my spare time. There's 4 on my wall. 2 in the hallway. One on my desk.

I reckon I could beat you. If not at Street Fighter Iv then at least afterwards ....with a traffic cone** (Im banking on you being around 13 y.o and fairly overweight)

**Not to be taken as a serious threat of violence. Im a huge pussy. In fact I usually cry and apologize before the fight.

So in other words you were half taking the piss about a topic that didn't even concern you?

I'm not world class! I guarantee no one on these forums are cuz they'd be on dedicated street fighter forums, they rarely play other games etc. It's dedication to the max. I'm good but it's one thing beating world champs. That's like parrying supers and shit, I can't do that.

You're just like the class clown that people find dead in the gutter a couple years after everyone has finished school.

When you start counting frames of animation in ANY fighting game, chances are you already know everything there is to know about the game already.

So in summary 1mpr3gn4t0r was asking a really noob question and you chime in with a full pro comment.

I'm always looking for good players. I figured you've got so much interest in sticks you'd atleast be able to play alright. Fuck people are just all full of shit nowadays! Why the hell would you care about all these genuine arcade parts and all this rubbish when it's not going to affect your game?! It's like worrying about what snow treads to put on a car that you'lll never drive out of the burbs in summer! It's stupid that's what.

Yea i'm tryna pick a fight! What's your damn gamertag! Let's have at it. I don't give a shit who you are in real life or whatever but when you start talking street fighter i'm in.
