So it's still rated 18+ in the UK though ...

That's good, didn't want to import it but I would have if it was censored.

Why would it have been edited?
The OFLC generaly don't censory cartoonly obviously over the top violence, it's more the realistic stuff that gets censored. (No more heroes wasn't censored by the OFLC)

Honestly I never thought it would be, I think people are over-reacting a lot to the OFLC.

No More Heroes didn't have blood though. This is definitely good news, looking forward to this one.

Yeah it did
The Australian version didn't but it wasn't because of interference by the OFLC it was because Suda 51 chose to release a censored one here and in japan. With the bloody ones being released in the Us and Europe.

Seriously I fail to see why people thought this game would be censored.

If this is fine to go past our censors

Then why would they censor madworld?

As far as I can tell the three things that get a game banned here
Are
Sex
Drugs
Realstic depictions of violence/torture.

Ridicoulsly cartoony violence in a completly monochrome game doesn't really fall into any of those does it?

Yep, only the US version had the blood. It wasn't so much that the PAL and JAP ones were censored, the blood was added into the US version to make it more popular to American audiences.

'As far as you can tell' is very different from the strict set of rules the Classification Board in Australia has to follow. Have a read up on specifics.

Also, this game has been getting quite a bit of press for depicting realistic violence in the gaming industry around the world. It was refused classification in Germany - usually a telling sign when a game is looking for classification here as well - and it received an 18+ rating in the UK. Since Australia HAS no R18+ rating, it was cause for concern.

You completely missed my point. I was trying to say that the version of No More Heroes submitted to the OFLC had no blood in it, so explaining Mad World's non censorship by using No More Heroes as an example doesn't work. You can't compare the two.

^True. But I believe his point is you can't use the fact we got a bloodless NMH as a precedent for us not being able to have games with blood, either.

Yippee! The Wii gets a nice, long injection of maturity. I'm also glad to not have to spend a ludicrous amount of money for an import. icon_biggrin.gif
