After watching that, all I can say is f**k being speculative, Killzone 2 is going to be the S**T.
Oh man I love Visari, he made the first KZ intro awesome, and now he just comes back in KZ2 with even more awesome.

Mate, every single game these days borrows ideas from previous works. You may not realise it in some games, but the do. The gaming industry (and other entertainment for that matter ) have now reached a saturation point in terms ideas, that originality will be hard to achieve in future games.
At least Killzone 2 is looking awesome and intense. Killzone 2 has been in production for 4yrs now, and is looking awesome. Surely a game thats been in production for so long, has so much dedication and ideas put into it by its devs!
After all, why should devs be wasting time or risking a lot of money into new IPS when gamers are just going to flock to well established series.
Dead Space, LBP, Mirror's Edge are new and good IPS that were still handily outsold by sequels like GTA4, CODWAW and GOW2.

Well, with a four-year production time I'd certainly expect an impeccable level of polish. Considering they even got a bonus 3-4 month period to tighten up the graphics on level 3, this game better run smooth as butter when it comes out.
I do like the fact that Guerilla have officially stated that there will be no install option for the game.

I'm not specifying anyone here but it's just one of those phrases that gets thrown around for pretty much every major title that's been coming out and it just never pans out that way. There's no huge rush on purchases or anything, the game just comes out, maybe gets good review scores and people turn to the next shiny big thing.
It's right up there with "200x will be the Year of the PS3". _________________

sorry, that was me mostly just being a dick for the sake of it.
meanwhile, it'd be awesome to see a new IP with as much development time and budget as killzone 2. think of the possibilities. _________________ DON'T SURRENDER

^Heavy Rain and Team ICO's PS3 game probably have the same, if not higher budget than Killzone 2, after all they have all been in development since before the launch of the PS3. Also keep in mind that a large amount of Killzone 2's budget went towards development of the EDGE tools for use in all future PS3 game development. _________________

I've told my continually that I'll not read any previews or watch any trailers/vids for KZ2 (and you're making this frustratingly tough mipac! What with all these tantalizing links you're posting ) as I want to go into this game knowing absolutely nothing. I made the mistake of clutching onto any detail regarding GTA IV before release, and I couldn't help but feel disappointed because I knew everything you'd see/do before it even happened which really hampered my enjoyment of what is otherwise an amazing game. MGS4 on the other hand, I ignored all hype and previews etc. and was blown away by the game. Anyway, what was my point again? I guess what I'm getting at is that I'm really looking forward to this game, and the less I know, the better. I can feel myself cracking, having the mouse cursor hovering over one of the many video links, but I should be able to hold on for another 6 weeks. _________________

here is some multiplayer info. sorry if it was posted already, i just came across it.
| Quote: | Multiplayer
Killzone 2's multiplayer component has been developed by Guerilla Games in parallel with the game's single-player campaign. The multiplayer gameplay is class-based, meaning the player can choose a class of character which is specialized for a specific role to better suit the player's needs in battle. There will be 16 abilities(badges) in total in which the player can mix and match 2 of them according to their playing style, and can switch abilities upon death. 32 players can connect online, and group into squads of up to four players. Two squads can group together as a faction of eight players. Killzone 2 also offers a clan system, which allows clans of up to 64 players to compete for "Valor Points", an in-game currency that clans can use to bet on tournaments.
Vehicles have been confirmed to be part of the multiplayer experience and are to be patched after the game releases.
Killzone 2 has been confirmed to be supporting AI bots in multiplayer, both single player and online. These bots are drones in the beta version's multiplayer mode
Details:
Killzone 2 Badge System:
Rather than adhere to a rigid character class system, Killzone 2’s online mode allows the player to mix abilities from different roles to better suit his / her preferred style of play. Abilities are represented by badges: the primary badge defines the main role of the player character, as well as its outward appearance, while the secondary badge serves as a complementary ability that enhances the main role.
Although their player characters look different, both Helghast and ISA factions have the same set of roles and badges to choose from. Here they are, from left to right:
Rifleman:
The default multiplayer character is assigned when no primary badge is selected. A secondary badge may still be added. Riflemen can start with most weapons, except for the specialized ones.
Engineer:
Primary badge ability: Sets up an automated turret which targets the enemy.
Secondary badge ability: Repairs ammunition dispensers, mounted guns, and automated turrets.
Medic:
Primary badge ability: Revives downed team mates.
Secondary badge ability: Throws a health pack, which can be picked up by other players.
Scout:
Primary badge ability: Uses a cloaking suit to become near-invisible.
Secondary badge ability: Tags all on-screen enemy players with a hidden marker, which broadcasts their coordinates to team mates.
Assault:
Primary badge ability: Dons heavy armour twice as strong as normal.
Secondary badge ability: Temporarily boosts running speed.
Tactician:
Primary badge ability: Throws a coloured smoke grenade, which serves as a spawn point.
Secondary badge ability: Requests air support from a sentry bot which targets the enemy.
Saboteur:
Primary badge ability: Assumes the disguise of a randomly selected enemy player.
Secondary badge ability: Throws a sticky, proximity-activated C-4 charge. |

It's possible that it could have that on the game disc. A lot of PS3 exclusives (Uncharted, Lair, Heavenly Sword + others) have included behind the scenes footage and concept art on the blu-ray. Although there may not even be enough room on the disc for that. _________________

| Quote: | First online review of KillZone 2, scores a 4/5
What is believed to be the first ever review of KillZone 2 has surfaced online, and it has scored a respectable 4/5. The swedish website notes that th controls are good and the environments feel natural. However co-op is missing and the game isn't really do much to evolve the genre even further. |
Surprised mipac didn't post this. Oh wait, it's a more realistic take on the game and not over the top. _________________ Shin J Leon.

^Thought I'd just copy/paste another reply to that one you've just linked us.

second, where is the fucking source Zeus? (don't worry, i'll do the work for your lazy ass: http://www.gp.se/gp/jsp/Crosslink.jsp?d=551&a=468931 )
besides your english skills suck major donkey balls:
what the hell is "th controls"?
"...and the game isn't really do much to evolve the genre even further. "
LOL!
adding a source to an article and doing a basic spell check before publishing news isn't asked too much, right?
especially when your website is full of ads.
third, Resistance 2, Gears 2, CoD: WaW got the same score.
GTA IV, Left 4 Dead and Dead Space got 3/5.
fourth, this "review" has only 3 short paragraphs.
so i think the credibility of this so called online magazine is to be questioned.
there you go.
|
I also tried visiting the source and wouldn't recommend it, as stated it's only 3 paragraph's and the site was full of ad's. _________________

I don't consider a 3 paragraph, foreign language review to be very reliable. There are dozers of these types of reviews before games are released, and very often they are from people who haven't even played the game and are just looking for hits. Nice try though. _________________

Try? I don't care. I just get annoyed with half the pissing contest crap I read around here.
I remember a certain God of War write up you posted before where the guy had to counter the press's viewing. How is that any different? The only difference is my post is sensible and not raving. Because I didnt' post a 'THIS IS THE BEST GAME EVA!!!!!!' link, means I'm being negative and a fanboy.
From what I've read from a lot of the previews this reveiw, not matter how dodgy it sounds, is a bang on indicator for the the game. Kick ass graphics but run of the mill gameplay.
Mind you, I will buy and play this game, that much is certain.

That's not it at all. It's more the fact that you blatantly bagged out mipac for no reason. Who cares if he wets himself over this game, a lot of the guys are anticipating it, and they will respond in a similar fashion. If you don't like it don't come into this thread. I'm sure you can find out Killzone 2 information anywhere. Instead you come into here... and what do you know, all of us are hyping this game up. _________________
