Having recently purchased my PS3 I'm wanting to get a Headset for it.
I was wondering if there are any good Blu Tooth Headsets available that work as good as the Official Sony one thats $80.
So any brands and prices would be great. I was wondering if there are any good ones from Dick Smith Electronics.
Cheers. _________________

If you can find Warhawk cheap, I would say get that. I got it for $28, but I think JB has it for a little under $50. The game isn't too bad, and you get a headset, so that's a good deal.

Or you could get the official one online from the UK. Most online retailers there are selling it for 18 GBP and with the exchange rate close to 2:1 at the moment, you should be able to get it here for less than $50, probably less than $40. _________________

I'm happy with the official one, got it for $70 at JB but I think Harvey Norman have it around $65. Just make sure to pair it using the cable and not wirelessly =P _________________

Hmm...most places I've looked seem to be suspiciously out of stock now.
Amazon has put the price up to 25 GBP (and of course won't ship it to aus). _________________

Dont know about you guys, but I've been using this one:

only $50 and I personally feels it beats the normal mobile ones both in practicality and comfort. _________________

Call me somewhat modern old-school but I enjoy a decent USB headset more.

Pssh, four metre cable no thanks. Unless you play on a computer monitor.
I recommend the official headset, look at foreign online retailers if you want it cheaper.

No, I play on a 32" HD CRT. Headset or not, I'm used to playing at no more than 1-2 metres from the screen. I try to play from my couch but it's like I'm not "in the zone" when I play from that distance.

The official one is quite good but it does have a problem, a lot of ppl are complaining its too soft or too low for the microphone input volume. When paired in automatic mode the mic volume seems to be locked as adjusting the microphone input 1-5 doesn't make any difference.
For instance i got it with end war so i tried out the mic calibration test and it barely moved above the red bars when i was talking but when i placed it in front of my mouth it worked fine. In the end i ended up using my old socom 2 usb headset for end war.
However there is a fix, ppl are blaming it on firmware problems which seems to be the case.
http://boardsus.playstation.com/playstation/board/message?board.id=ps3&thread.id=3473460&view=by_date_ascending&page=1
Seems that disconnecting it and connecting it again through the menu gets the 1-5 mic input volumes to work.
Oh btw it works fine for all my other online mic support games but for end war it just doesn't work as well as it should. Your better off trying to buy it bundled with something. etc socom or endwar
