I know that there is the troubleshooting thread here but I thought that I'd get a faster response if I posted here.

We just got a Wii for christmas and for some reason when we are attempting to navigate the Wii menu the controller keeps inverting the motion controls making it **** impossible to navigate.

Does anyone know what causes this and how I can fix it?

It is possible there is some light source confusing the sensor bar. Make sure there are no bright lights near the TV like christmas lights or even bright sunlight. The sensor bar is just six tiny light bulbs, and thats how the pointer positions itself.

Thats all I can suggest man. Hope thats all it is.

That, and they don't offer you much of a playable range - you need to stay within a few meters of the sensor bar (depending on ambient light, to a degree) or else it starts getting pretty patchy.

I reckon Peveus is dead on though, sounds more like an issue of light troubles.

Ah well in game it seems to be fine. It's just in the menu and it doesn't seem to be fixed at all.

So I'm thinking a call to Nintendo may be in order.

So you don't have any way to test with a different wii remote? It would tell you if it was the sensor bar or the controller if you could.

Currently I don't as I don't have any friends who have Wii's. Although a mate of mine is getting one next week so I guess I can test it when he gets his.

Check in the Wii system options menu that you have the sensor bar selected as above or below the TV set. I moved the sensor from on top of the TV to below it and the same thing happened to me. (Control all screwed up).
