It felt weird reading this thread and seeing the familiar names, but that's what I get for hanging around Hyper I suppose.

Anyway, I haven't read the first issue of Pixel Hunt yet let alone this second one and that's mainly because I'm not a fan of reading PDF files, so, hurry up with the HTML version because I really want to read some more of your stuff.

There should be HTML versions of every issue on there. Don't bother with Issue 1, though, go straight to 2 and 3, they're leap-and-bound improvements.

New content is making its way to the main site now - we've gotten some XBLA codes and my review of Pub Games is up.

We're considering how best to compliment the zine and website, content wise. What are people's feeling about maybe splitting previews and news and having them appear on the site, then leave the zine purely for reviews, opinions and features?

Ok favour time. We've been accepted at this website Best Ezines, which lists zines and allows people to rate them and write reviews.

I'd really appreciate it if people visited, chucked a rating up or even took the time to write a few words in support. Cheers and thanks in advance icon_biggrin.gif

Argh - triple post alert (but in the interest of keeping all relevant discussion in one place):

We have an interview with Krome up on the site. This is just part one of James's piece, and the rest will be in Issue 4. But be sure to check it out, leave a comment and pass the link on to support interest in Australian games development.

Link in my sig.

Issue 4 is ALIVE!

Head to the Homepage to check it out (high and low res PDF options, with HTML coming soon). We worked very hard on this one and I think it's our best so far.

Am I the only one that thought, at first, that Niko (off GTA4) was driving that car? Anyway, gonna go read it now.

Actually I thought the same thing.

Very happy with this issue, it took a while to come out but everything came together very nicely in the end.

Hey guys - I got to conduct an interview this morning with Josh Atkins, the guy who designed the combat in Fable II and he clarifies the online co-op issue a little bit.

Hi guys,

Issue 5 is out today. We worked really hard on it and I think it's our best issue (I think I say that every issue!). Also up on the website is Episode 1 of our PixelCast - it's a test to see if anyone cares about what we have to say, so let me know what you think.

And PLEASE pass it on to any friends you think might be interested. Cheers.

Issue 8 is out now.

Features: The Power of Speech. Michael takes a look at the best and worst in game dialogue. Also, Ken catches up with Peter Barlow to discuss Dissecta, iDEF and the e-Games expo. Don’t know what those are? Read the feature to find out.

Interview: We fired off a heap of questions to the makers of Prototype. Unfortunately they didn’t quite make our deadline but we’ve been assured that the answers are on their way – so to sweeten the wait we’ve got 3 copies of Prototype that you can win.

Reviews: So many that I don’t even know where to start. Guitar Hero: Metallica gets our fingers warmed up for such titles as Persona 4, MadWorld, Patapon 2, Flower, The Wheelman and plenty more.

Plus!

You could win a copy of Guitar Hero: Metallica simply by being a subscriber. We also have our usual round of opinion articles, Not the News, Not My Genre, MMO Meltdown and – you know what – you’re probably already downloading the issue right now! I’ll leave you to it.

Allow me to reiterate that this is one hell of a e-zine. Reading it will make you look better to the opposite sex, increase your salary and help your chosen sports team win every weekend.

Oh yeah, and it's got some good stuff about videogames too.

Heh, it took me a while to come across this... I really dig it, awesome reading. Loved the House of the Dead review. If you need a change in look with logos and such, feel free to PM me here and I'll try and help out. icon_smile.gif

I might sub to PixelCast too if I can be bothered. icon_razz.gif

EDIT: You guys haven't signed up to iTunes to make your podcast available there? I'd have a read of the first section of this if you want to get started. icon_smile.gif

Yeah the PixelCasts are on hold as I've moved house and am waiting on Telstra to give me a home phone line. I'm on a fairly expensive wireless plan and am trying to keep my usage down - so as soon as they pull their finger out the podcasts will resume and we'll apply to iTunes etc.

Hey all, our Games of 2010 preview special is up now.

All that's required is a $1 minimum donation to unlock the issue (60+ pages). This is the only issue we'll ask money for this year as we're just hoping to cover some running costs.
