Call of Duty: World At War

Ive played a fair bit of WAW and I do think it is a pretty good game. But to me COD4 will be my favorite as I much prefer the modern scene over WW2 etc.

finished singleplayer & have been playing multiplayer a fair bit lately.

the bad

- singleplayer is nowhere near as good as cod4

- tanks are shit, like someone else said if we wanted tanks we'd play battlefield or whatever

- would have liked more guns, such as the grease gun included

- smgs seem overpowered, rifles seem underpowered. as such you'll get several games where every single player is using either an mp40 or thompson.

- bouncing bettys are too hard to see, at least the claymores in cod4 had red lines that made them easier to spot

- and finally my biggest gripe, the grenades are so underpowered its not funny, if anyone has killed someone with a molotov cocktail alone i take my hat off to you. the grenades where one of my favourite tools in cod4, especially for taking out campers, but in this one they basically have to land right under the enemy's feet to kill them.

the good

- multiplayer is similar to call of duty 4 and quite fun in general

- the dogs are a great addition

- some of the add ons for the guns are quite cool, i especially like the larger ammo drums

- the extra create a class slots for prestige modes are a good idea

Played zombie mode for the first time yesterday and fuck it is awesome. 4 of us were trying to hold them off, only got to level 14 or something but its a lot of fun and hilarious at times, especially when you've got 15-20 zombies chasing you around in circles in the second room, while your teammates need to be revived and you've got some underpowered bolt-action rifle that you got handed out of the box (no matter how many times I went to that box I couldn't get my hands on a bloody ray-gun) and you're just firing in the general direction of the zombies hoping for headshots. Haven't laughed so much in a while.

Then me and a mate tried the glitch that makes it impossible for the zombies to get us. Got to level 8 twice before my mate stuffed up both times by accidentally moving, making us vulnerable to the 50 odd zombies we were holding off, with the windows all broken down and everything. Lasted about a second each time haha.

Anyway, all in all WaW has been a bit of a disappointment for me, haven't touched the multi since the first day I played it and I went straight back to CoD4. People with Juggernaut + the new last stand which goes for aaaaaages = me + an hero. Then I gave up on the campaign because of the incredible grenade spam which just frustrated the hell out of me. Its still a decent game though and I'll probably end up playing it again later.

This game is so awesome. The campaign is alright, not the best, but everything else is awesome. I love multiplayer, ground war is my favourite, and zombie nazi mode is awesome! I hope they make more zombie nazi mode maps, cause it lets you choose the map you want, so you would think they would make more maps

I agree with the weapons not being fairly weighted in terms of damage... and the grenades too, the tank grenade is supposed to blow up tanks.. so you would expect it to cause some major carnage when thrown at soldiers... not so...

Still lots of fun... the dogs are awesome and frustrating... great inclusion... search and destroy is a favorite of mine... rather tactical... ground war too!
