I'm a little ticked off by this sort of thing. It shouldn't be an MA15+ title, just like Fallout 3 shouldn't be, and numerous other games coming out now. They're totally inappropriate for teenagers, and should be R18+. Should be...

Given current society I doubt whether parents would even second guess an R18+ Game. _________________

... and I'm sure the folks at Warner Bros bought them a very nice dinner and gave them Dark Knight blu-rays for X-Mas!

I agree Mr Waffle - that's the other argument for having an R rating - making sure games are appropriately rated. _________________

I am glad that Warner Bros. appealed the RC decision, and it is about time that other publishers do the same.
If it was still banned in February, I would have either import or resort to P2P.

I don't get all the fuss over F.E.A.R. I bought and finished the original and yea it was a solid shooter but nothing I hadn't seen before. The slo-mo mechanic was so old by that time but this was the first FPS to use it. Also the horror story....no seriously is it me or what this a full blown rip-off of the character out of The Ring? The story just dragged out and nothing really happens. It was so just so generic and the worst part about it was you basically spent the whole game shooting in offices and corridors....the scenery was some of the worst in recent memory cuz of the lack of variety or excitement. Also the lack of enemy variety was appalling! 2 enemy types the whole game....just generic masked soldiers (with some awesome AI I have to say....probably the best i've seen since Elite's in Halo) and big mech type soldiers which were pretty cool aswell but that was it.
The smoke, particle effects and sound (especially when in slo-mo) were all top notch however. Maybe it's a combination of all the elements that kinda raises the bar a bit but I expect a lot more from games/devs nowadays. Left 4 Dead is a prime example....solid as game but it's criminal how little content you actually get.
I'll probably pick up F.E.A.R 2 but I was hoping they would drop the stupid Alma character and try and be a bit more original. As it is i'm not looking foward to it or anything but I expect it to be solid like the first just really generic again. _________________

F.E.A.R. is pretty old now-a-days. And how could they drop Alma for the sequal? (prequal what ever). With out her there is no reason for the game. You should track down the directors cut and watch the short film thingy that comes with it. A bit corny but gives a better grasp of Alma and her gripe. Oh and there is a comic.

I actually enjoyed FEAR for all the reasons complained about- battles with hordes of soldiers in dark confined spaces was absolutely thrilling. The game became a bit less enjoyable for me when it stepped up the supernatural enemy stuff..

I'm actually not interested in the story because it seems like the character is a direct rip-off to Samara from the ring and it's all just combined with a FPS. I'd prefer something with a story more along the lines of Jehrico.
A little girl in her nightie with unkept hair really doesn't scare me one bit. It just comes off as corny and try-hard to me. It was good in the movie/s but that's it.
I would actually prefer they just dropped what they have and started from scratch but I don't think that'll happen cuz I think the devs genuinely believe they have a good character/story on their hands when I feel it's the exact opposite. _________________

Sad thing is, from my understanding, that classification is and always will be opinion based.
One persons MA15+ is another persons R18+...
How does one govern, while allowing freedom? It's a fine balance. _________________ Games for Sale

I'm 15, and I loved the first F.E.A.R. Made me jump a few times, was great :D
I'm not going around killing people and randomly appearing in their vision within a dark environment am I?
It's fine for teenagers. Video game violence (in my opinion, I don't want any counter flaming) is harmless. I've been playing games since Quake 1, and I haven't been in a single serious fight. _________________

So um, you played quake when you were 3? Just curious, it's not that I disagree, I just think your parents should have acted a touch more responsibly, but then I suppose if you're going to let your child play games that will make it crap itself, it might as well still have nappies on.

Give us an R18+ rating for games and we'll gladly do it your way. _________________
