I'm having a hell of a lot of fun. As long as you can get past the fact that it was never meant to be anything like the old BK games you'll probbably have a lot of fun. _________________

It's definitely not like the Banjo-Kazooie of old, but it's a lot of fun. I find myself just cruising around showdown town collecting notes and crates and then realise I should actually do some some Jiggy challenges Looking forward to playing the original when I eventually get a working code! _________________

Played a couple of hours so far and dig it. As others have said, if you don't go into it wanting the same exact thing as the last two games, its an enjoyable experience. Funny, too. _________________

Made a Giant flying top hat (Will have to upload a pic tonight) and crashed it into the cogs in the background of nutty acers, got it caught in the cog wheels and managed to stop all the cogs turning. I grabbed a photo of it but then though "A photo fo things not moving isn't that great"
Is anyone sure if you can bind diffrent detatchers to diffrent buttons so you can make vehicals in 3 segments? I made a vehical that needs a frame to actully take off then you drop that away to fly it, but I am wondering if I can drop two of the wings that would let me land it.

Man, I have the game sitting on my shelf still wrapped in plastic. Hopefully I will be able to play it in a week or two. I had no idea that it was possible to be so creative with the vehicle building. Very impressive. _________________

Hey LeonJ,
Hahah, Me n Ugh been playing the absolute crap out of this game last 2 days.
The game i must say first is one of the most stunning worlds I have seen in a game , in a cartoony banjo-esque type of way.
Secondly the building of vehicles for use in challenges is absolutely fantastic with the options you have open to you for sheer creativity.
As long as you go into this game not expecting the same jumpy jumpy Banjo Kazooie of old you will have a blast. The game is basically revolved around building vehicles to either race, destroy, defend or throw "X" for a setpiece characters challenge.
Now I get to the parts where I have to say I have not yelled as many profanities at a game I think in my whole life.
The physics which work great for most parts of the game, will absolutely have you squeezing the controller out of frustration due to some of the setpieces in game getting either snagged or 'nicked' and sending your vehicle in a spin or worse ripping a whole section off XD.Some of the later tasks are absolutely frustrating as hell, but to give it a chance as you progress you get a huge amount of better and different parts which make your vehicle better but for some parts you really have to sit down and design a vehicle for each type you are doing, atm I have 36 vehicles saved with basically the only use for that one task.
Plus to get all the 'jiggies' in the game you have to pass these TT times tasks, which honestly I can never see myself doing all of them because most of the time they are pretty achievable but there are a few...well I have to say that anyone that has the patience to persevere through these has the patience and calmness of a saint heheh because goddamn they are soo frustrating.
But besides all these little annoyances I find myself drifting off to sleep and thinking up vehicle designs and busting to try them when I'm up.
It's not the greatest game of all but kudos for a bit of originality. If it had a lot more testing of the physics (they a tad too floaty) and more wheel variation, man i'd be playing this for ages.
As it is , i'm up to last boss, yet to fight again (grrr) and will perservere to see where my breaking point is.
I hope they have an add on using the setpices from this game to make an old school jumpy game because , dammn thatd be amazing.
I'd give it a rental, i could imagine alot of ppl not liking it..but meh.
I like it even for its slight flaws mainly due to the vehicle creation side of it.
Also if you can, play with someone else via private chat, haha, hearing someone else laugh at your frustration/extreme expletitive yelling always eases the pain lol.
Also I'm on silver and noticed that you can send blueprints to friends also, i dunno if its due to the new xbox experience etc giving free online (is it?) haven't tried any other online games. But if it is the case silver can send blueprints to each other is fantastic choice to do so.
I got some crazy off the hook designs too, message me in game for a send of em.
And yes..I have built an imperial star destroyer XD _________________

I'm playing through the original Banjo-Kazooie before playing any more of Nuts & Bolts. Having somehow not played the original when I had a N64, I found that I was missing out on a lot of the jokes and references that are in Nuts & Bolts.
So far I'm really loving the original. I'm a few hours in and have just finished Clanker's Cavern. It reminds me a little of Mario 64, but I really like the puzzles and finding all the well hidden items (sometimes a little too well hidden!) It's also the only arcade game that I have actually wanted to finish.
Seeing some of the vehicles you guys have created in Nuts & Bolts has got me really looking forward to getting back into it.... especially the planes, and I found the flying top hat hilarious! _________________

Yes I'd also like to hear Jibbs' opinion.
I lost 4 hours of my night playing this yesterday, and I probably only spent an hour, if that, on missions. Playing around trying to build things its fun and eats up a lot of time. But furthermore, the stages are lots of fun to explore, and hell, even Klungo Saves the World took up at least half an hour. I think I'm slightly addicted to this game. _________________

Oh hell yes! I forgot about Klungo Saves the world. That game is awesome.
I'm up to the stairs level were you are running along above the screen and man that's hard.
I would love that picture as a wallpaper though.
Can't wait to see what Multiplayers gunna be like, I imagine completly insane.

Shuttup, angry old ugh, you ain't heard angry untill you hear me playing this game. Grrr! Sometimes a tiny little corner will catch on your vehicle causing you to spin around and round, or something will get stuck under your vehicle and you'll bounce around uncontrollably or struggle to get some traction with your wheels.....heaps of rubbish, there's all these useless characters running around getting in your way, the damn physics are WAY too floaty especially when challenges you have to use the vehicle the game provides (e.g. can't build your own) and they're real weird.
Alright despite all these problems this is classic Rare at work and this game absolutely rocks! It's definately a Banjo Kazooie game, it just has that feeling, so what if you're participating in mini-games, these challenges are EXACTLY like collecting stars, shines etc the only difference being you can create and use vehicles and most of these challenges can be completed in your own creative ways.
There are still heaps of collectables, jiggies (the equivalent of shines/stars), vehicle parts (one of the best parts of the game is finding new parts), notes (money or coins like in mario) jingo tokens (short jiggy like challenges). Basically showdown town (the main hub) is almost like a classic mario/banjo level but you have a trolley which you can use but for the begining of the game I explored everywhere by just jumping around and got to heaps of secret areas I wasn't supposed to well before time, found heaps of vehicle parts that has made my trek through the game much easier. I remember Zarnoss talking about some frustrating challenges and when I got to these they were easy as because of all the parts I had acquired. One challenge he built this huge sword (seriously massive) and for the same challenge I built just a tiny car with 3 grenade launchers on the front, basically he didn't have the grenade launcher so his aim was to try and impale this creature/thing on the top of this huge spike....he sent me the blue-print, I think I laughed for about 5 mins straight! It worked though so that's all the matters.
Dead Space blew me away with it's graphics, then along came Gears of War 2 and crapped all over it....well fuck Gears of War, Banjo Kazooie might be the most beautiful game i've ever seen! The draw distance and sense of scale is unmatched! Quote me on that! No other game has draw distance like this and yes the stages are absolutely massive but they're all just one HUGE room and once you get flying vehicles or bigger engines you get get from one end to the other in seconds, so yes they're big but they're big like Mario 64 levels cuz they're just packed to the gills with little details everywhere and it's like a virtual playground, lots of objects, characters and details are there just for fun or just as a visual treat and don't have any relevance to the main game or anything for that matter. Just heaps of fanservice basically. Banjoland, seriously that level is packed to the gills with so many awesome details. Just fly a small heli around and just soak it in. Seriously the best graphics, the texture detail is incredible, I thought Viva Pinata had some of the best textures (especially on the houses for all the animals) but every single texture in Nuts and Bolts is like that but better, so vibrant, almost leaping out of the screen at ya.
The text thing is not a problem. The words are clear and big enough for any telly. Nothing like Dead Rising. The only problem might be sometimes it scrolls a bit fast but it's very rare, most of the time you have an option to proceed at your own leisure. Also the dialogue is really throwaway, some little jokes here and there, but you can skip all of it and just look at the objectives on where you choose your vehicle. Infact this is the only place to get a clear idea of what you need to do but a lot of these are left vague cuz it's up to you to complete the task however you want. Here's an awesome example....don't read if you don't want to know how this one mission pays out, not really a spoiler but if someone disagrees i'll add tags. One mission out of hundred or so heaps like it. This one stage you have to load coconuts into this nut machine but the coconuts are up high on some ledge so I figure I have to build some helicopter/plane arangement that can carry heaps of stuff, so I do this (basically two huge trays with an engine....that's it!) I fly it over to the coconut ledge, load it up with the as many as I can fit especially the big ones. I'm flying back, a full tray load of these nuts, and i'm nearing the nut machine so I descend....but I descend too quickly and all the bloody nuts go flying off my tray! I swore HARD!! But I still had a couple left so while cursing I flew them over under this nut machine but my stupid vehicle gets stuck underneath it (cuz the vehicle was hella massive) anyways i'm stuck hard and i'm angry I go jump out and in my rage I tap X the whole time (the attack button) and just start breaking and hitting stuff, I acidentally hit the nut machine and break it, the thing lands in my tray, which instantly gave me an idea, so I jumped in the driver's seat flew the tray with the dislodged nut machine over to the coconut ledge and VIOLA!! The nut machine starts sucking up whatever nuts are near it! So I just pick the thing up and wave it around for a second or two. Sweet! So I was on track to getting the T.T Trophy for the challenge, stuffed it up hard, got angry lost my temper and still managed to get it. Very happy in the end and very surprised at how dynamic this game is. Seriously awesome stuff!
Get this game! Lego games are an absolute joke/gimmick this is where it's at! Saturday night my g/f had to babysit so i'm stuck at home playing games and I stayed up till like 7 - 8 sunday morning fine tuning some vehicle I had no idea why I was building. I wanted it to fly float and drive, it's called the Dumpy and it's fucking sikkest thing ever!!! It looks like a box with tyres, wings and a tray but it controls like a dream and it can do it all!! I spent like 4 hours making this thing for no reason, I didn't need it for a mission or anything, it was seriously just for fun. The boat and plane mechanics would have to be some of the best i've ever experienced, controls are awesome, seriously the water stuff is the best, I love water in games and this is where it's at, above, below, on top, it's all the best!! just caning across the top of the water in your own design is so satisfying and you push a button and BAM you're crusing at the bottom of it now! So awesome!
Showdown Town imo is the best part of the game because it combines the vehicle stuff with classic platforming type gameplay so the quality there is like 110%. The game is seriously one of the most frustrating things i've ever had to endure but honestly I think it might have to do with my patience level, heaps of stages I just chuck something together and expect it to work but if you spend heaps of time you'll get better results. Everything Zarnoss says is true, you will have to build some crazy contraptions only to use them once but send me or him a msg if you get frustrated and we'll send you a saved replay or a blueprint on how you can tackle the challenge.
It's all there and it's still a Banjo Kazooie platformer but this is what i'm talking about when I say game consoles need raw processing power to make better games, the physics, the draw distance, the building aspect are all gameplay features that we've seen in game before but they've never been so pivotal to the actual fun and progression of a game. _________________
