i have no doubt they will be charging for items, in fact im sure ive read somewhere that they are releasing packs every 2 weeks for the next 6 months. i think the more incentives they give people to become gamerscore whores the more game/XBLA games they will move.

No, I have mine hooked up through HDMI and audio is working fine. I'm sorry to hear that yours is having problems. Have you tried calling MS support?

+1 for the NXE
Love the look, the avatars actually look cute in a way, and I'm not sure what everyone is complaining about with the menus. Perhaps I don't use the menus enough to be scared of the changes.
Best feature by far is the HDD optional copy.
It's quite strange playing in a quiet environment...

I'm really liking the new Dashboard. Its more modern, easier to navigate, more interactive and the Avatars are so cute.
Microsoft has done an excellent job. Anyone tried the Photo Party yet?

A friend was talking to me about that last night, but I didn't thoroughly look around the dash on how to download that functionality.
My friend's experience with the Photo Party was pretty much, he joined a room and some how it was instead a Pr0n photo party room. X_X

It was asked earlier in the thread, but I never saw an answer come up, so...
Does anyone know, definitively one way or the other, whether you can change the base colour of the Front-end? Most of my old themes look like arse with that blue/gray bottom half of the screen cutting over the top of them...

Nearly updated. 8 minutes to go.
I also took this chance to wipe my 360 clean (Is there a restore to factory default option?), my old account had a fake name, fake age and fake email address (I am very paranoid). But now I will make a legit account, just trying to think of a cool Gamertag.
From what I have seen the new experience looks quite good, though I was so used to the old one this may take some getting used to.

I enjoy the NXE even though there are a setback for me.
The positive is I prefer the dashboard then the previous version. Fable 2 for me no longer permanently freezes for no reason too after installing it to the HDD so it makes me very very happy.
The negative is I get an occassional and lengthy freeze when hanging out in the Friends section of the NXE. But it could just be the server is busy (wishful thinking). Anyone also have a freeze in the Friends area of the dashboard?

I got a red ring right after update as well. And it fryed my HDD. And no sound.

Yeah, I have noticed this. It's especially frustrating when you accidentally move up or down and then have to head back to the Friends section and have it load up again.
All in all though, I'm enjoying it so far and I think it is a very welcome change.

I'm disappointed that I wasn't able to delete games off my gamerscore for which I've earnt no points. All those silly little games I have no gamerscore for make it look untidy.
I wish i could get rid of them.

NXE is pretty good for me, shame I cant download the media update; I have loads of movies I want to watch again.
I got a RROD this arvo, wasnt fatal but it better not be the HDD as I was playing a game off it at the time.

Btw, the friends section of the dashboard seems fine to me now, no more lag.
