price drop

Hey all,

I bought an xbox last tuesday for 499 from eb and now there has been a price drop of 100$

Could i just return it and re buy it or something?

Or have i overpaid.

Yeah, you could either tell them about it, and hope to get $100 back, or return the console then buy it again.

EB do not take returns on XBOX 360 consoles anymore for any condition whatsoever, even if it's faulty.

You're SOL.

But who hasn't had this happen to them at some stage in their life?

As far as i know the trade practices act demands that faulty goods can be exchanged or refunded.

But yeah happens all the friggin time with dvds for me, i paid 60 for re animator, only for it to get a local release the next week for 20, d'oh......

if it's within 7 days EB will sometimes price match on items you've already paid for, so you'll get money back.

My friend did this when he bought a 360 control centre fan attachment from 1 EB for $50, but it was on sale at another EB for $25, so he went back and got refunded the $25 difference.

Charly would be able to clarify on EB policies.

EB had a notice on their counter for some time about their new arrangement with Microsoft. After that hard disk issue that affected many 360s EB had, Microsoft refusing to reimburse them or something along those lines, and in addition to the excess failure of 360s, EB had had enough.

They'll take your money, but they don't ever want to see you again.

You cannot return consoles to EB i don't think, unless their faulty.

At least it is only $100 and you wont be losing too much.

Ok heres an update.

I called up my store who said they weren't sure and would have to talk to the area manager.

10 minutes later they have told me that because the bundles have changes i need to just take back the games that came with the bundle i bought (Saints row 2 + NFS Pro st) and my receipt, and they will give me the game from the new bundle (Assassins creed) and 100$ store credit.

This way I'm not doing a return on the console.

How good is that?

That EB store just went up in my books.

It helped that i mentioned to the EB staffer that i paid alot of money, and that now their costs had changed they should think of sharing the benefits with me.

I bought my 360 last saturday. I called the EB store and told them that I can wither return it under their 7 day return policy and get them to price match with a cheaper offer or they can give me $100 store credit. Last night i picked up my $100 game card and am very happy:)

Big W have the arcade priced at $268 with an extra game for their sale thats on tomorrow for one day only. Thats incredibly good value!

I'm annoyed. I though the 360 arcade with 4 games was awesome at $350, but now for $50 more I could have gotten a 60 gig HDD and better games .
