That is truly incredible. The 60GB pro is now the price the Arcade was not long ago and the arcade costs just $20 more than a PSP.
They're on a roll these guys. It just makes the Wii seem less and less like any semblance of value. _________________

Spewing if you just bought one.
I still can't believe that anyone would buy an arcade version. For an extra $100 you get so much more. Money is such a motivator, though. _________________ "Bird flu sparks a complete ban on serving chicken, leaving KFC unaffected." - The Chaser's War On Everything.

^Arcade + HDD costs less than the Pro, though. Depending on where you buy of course.

Hmmm - just installed my home theater setup and the only thing holding me back is my HDMI-less Xbox 360. I guess I could buy an Arcade one which now comes with an HDMI port and finally get some 1080p.
Where's the best place to sell an Xbox 360 to get the most money for it?

60GB 360 same price as a Wii!
That's gold.
This is really an aggressive marketing campaign at its finest. It goes to show MS are really listening to what the folks want.
It's now time for Xbox Live subscriptions to be given a price cut too.
Even if Sony have a superior gaming line up, it will be really hard for them to out sell the cheaper 360's.

Great value for money now, who'd know they'd slash it so much in a year! _________________

I be thinking Sony are going to have to step it up to be able to move some consoles, I mean some review scores for multiplatform games havn't been looking to good on the PS3 side of things not mention how big the price gap now is, and that's only RRP. _________________

Now it'd be nice if they reduced the price of the 120GB HDD to something less ridiculous. When the NXE comes the final 4.5 gig on my 20 gig drive won't last long.

But the 360 out selling the PS3 even in Japan recently.
That's not a good sign for Sony. Shows MS are really doing a great job.
And with FF13 now on the 360, it's not really looking good for the PS2 even next year.
PS3 needs a price drop.

Sony are done for in this Gen there is really no two ways about it. They will be last for sure, MS will prob bring out a new console before the PS3 has any chance of taking over the 360...
That said I play both.... _________________

Some stores have already reduced their prices, GAME has the 60gb pro model which comes with the 2 game pack in Kung Fu Panda and Lego Indiana Jones + a choice of Fable 2 or Gears of War 2 regular editions for $399 until tomorrow. _________________ RIP Buddha 19/10/1952 - 03/01/2004

The irony off it all is it's Blu-Ray that's killing the PS3. Blu-Ray which Sony were banking on to be the killer of the competition.
But it hasn't turned out that way because Blu-Ray has killed the PS3 simply because it has made the PS3 very expensive.
Sony relied too much on their brand power especially with their inferior line up early on in the gen. They assumed that because they are over 100 mill PS2 owners, a lot would simply upgrade to the PS3.
Unfortunately its software and price point that drives sales , not the brand.
Right now besides free online gaming, there isn't really much more of another reason to get a PS3 over the much cheaper 360.
I too have both a PS3 and 360, so I would like both to be as successful as the other as well as the Wii. That would be a perfect gen. Were all three consoles do well.
But Sony are lagging behind and their arrogance isn't helping. They have to face reality. Cut the PS3 price, take bigger loses but expand the base.
So Sony's biggest mistake when we look back at this gen? Trying to force Blu-Ray on to the folks.
That has back fired dismally.
You would have thought Sony would have learnt from past gaming industry mistakes.
Mega drive more powerful than the SNES, but still was killed by the SNES.
Dreamcast more powerful than the PS1 and N64, but failed.
Xbox and GC, more powerful than the PS2, but both were kiled by the weaker PS2.
Its not about horse power, its about software and price point.

I dont think they have transfer kits available seperately as they only come with the 120gb hdds sold seperately.

Some stores have reduced their prices already, such as GAME who I've already mentioned. Other stores should follow very shortly it seems. _________________ RIP Buddha 19/10/1952 - 03/01/2004

My god, it's the end for the PS3!!! Run for cover!
Geez, stop being such drama queens.
I agree Sony have must a lot of mistakes this gen, but the PS3 isn't failing by any stretch of the imagination.
If the price of the XBox and the Wii made all the difference this gen then Sony would be in a lot more trouble. _________________

I'm thinking I might upgrade my Xbox 360, I have the standard 20GB which came out near launch, the big issue is that is sounds like a spaceship, the CD drive is dying once again and I'll need HDMI when I get my new monitor for it.
Does anyone know how much trade-in you get when you trade in an Xbox 360?

Honestly it'd be better for you to sell the 360 privately, EB gives about $30 trade in for a 360 console and GAME is probably around the $150 mark and you can easily get $200 for your console on here or other forums/ebay. _________________ RIP Buddha 19/10/1952 - 03/01/2004
