And minus 10 points to gamers who go to JB or Big W or wherever else and find they're out of stock and have to resort to a $110 pre-owned copy from EB

Wouldn't EB sell it as brand new? It's sealed, they could keep it sealed.

I think they would open it for legal reasons and to make sure it's not a fake game etc..

No they make more money selling pre-owned. It doesn't matter if it's sealed or not either, it's illegal to sell as a brand new copy. What that guy is doing though, is just wrong. People are ultimately going to miss out and be forced to pay $100+ for a pre-owned copy when they can't just walk into a store like JB and take one off the shelf, as every copy has been bought as trade-in credit.

Off topic:
Pre-owned can be pricematched, essentially.
Pricematch as normal, and then take some off as it is pre-owned. But that is no help if, as has been whinged about previously, all the new copies have been bought for trade schemes.

Well, if you return a game in 7 days, they sell it as brand new, that's why they open up every game, and you rarely get a sealed copy.

I really have to question the validity of some of your statements. True games get returned and this accounts for a small percentage of the opened games, but the majority of opened games can be attributed to ... wait for it ...
Anti-Theft Measures.
If the case is on the store floor, it is genuinely empty. Sealed games are in the store room. I rarely get an unsealed game. Heck, most of them are still sealed.
So no, 'they open up every game' is very much untrue. Just ask if there is a sealed copy available. _________________

Hmm, well I have only ever gotten 2 sealed game from EB, and my friends have never gotten sealed games either. Also, my friend returned some DS games, I wanted to buy that game, they guy that worked there said there were no copies left, but then found one. I got home, played it and my friends account was on it. And it was sold to me as brand new.

Ooooh, reminds me of kids who play with refrigerator boxes instead of their $100 electronic toys with all the bells and whistles.

I've never received an unsealed game at EB either, they always go out the back and grab a copy, unless it's preowned (which makes sense).
Also, as far as the whole "OMG EB **** j00 in the a-hole 4 prepwn3d!!!1!!", brand new titles generally have the awesome trade in values, which people exploit to the ****house, so if they are giving you a hundred bucks back for your "secondhand game" (Which I'm quite sure will ALWAYS be brand new) what else are they going to charge but 110 bucks? Maybe you want them to charge you 50 dollars, because that doesn't make any sense and we're all living in bizarro EB is evil land anyway, right?
Receiving Fallout 3 made me happy today, and now whenever I want to smile I flick my Pipboy bobblehead. Heehee, look at him go.

I agree with everyone else, Obama's victory made me smile.
Also I've been listening to some of the old Ricky Gervais XFM shows I missed. Freaking hilarious. I was in tears of laughter driving home today. Probably not the safest way to drive! _________________

Okay we all know FOX are not really Fair and Balanced as they claim to be. But the truth is,there are some good folks out there at FOX.
Anyway, I did watch a bit of FOX and Friends (FOX's breakfast show) last evening and was expecting them to be ungracious in the McCain defeat. But to my surprise they did take it with grace and respect to Obama.
But I was also impressed by what you can see in this clip FOX anchor dressing down a guy a who spoke unkindly words about Obama yesterday.
So all in all, its always nice to see that there are at least some good folks at FOX who don't always follow the Republican talking points.

I love customers like that. I especially love their line of thinking:
"This guy will be willing to accept $200 to give me something that I'll can't wait 24 hours for, even though it will cost him his job".
Getting Fable II for free today made me smile. _________________ How can you possibly be overwhelmed and underwhelmed, but not just whelmed?
