Seems most likely given that the UK and Japan are getting SFIV in February.

Sakura, Dan, Fei Long, Cammy, Gouken and Gen so far confimed.

Not surprised here, hopefully so more characters can be added before release.

Cammy!

In before morons complaining about it being Street Fighter Ex 4 or whatever they whine about.

Thank goodness. It will be awesome, especially online.

Plus there is talk that Sagat will be the best character.

Looking forward to this. The only bummer for me personally is that Guy isn't in the roster.

I will be a moron and complain that there are no SF3 characters. Still, Gouken now makes it so there are 6 non Streetfighter II/alpha (inc boss) characters so at least it will start to feel like it's own game. From what I've played it felt very SFAish but the parry system could change that when it is mastered.

EDIT: oh, and it's good to see they haven't included DeeJay and T-hawk. Always hated those guys.

It takes place before SFIII, but I do want Makoto in.

True, but that doesn't mean all the characters weren't born yet or anything. They managed to include all the characters in SFA3 which was set years before.
I guess my main beef isn't really the characters (though makato and ibuki would be awesome) more that Sf3 was this cut back that focused on skill over being flashy though from what I played at galaxy world this is more like SFA where it is all about flash and less about skill. SF3 was this big reinvention and this feels more like a step back.
Then again there are about 500 times more fans of SF2 then SF3

Dudley! SF 3 was all about Dudley.

Motoko was pretty rad too.

Dudley was what like 30 in SF3? He'd be able to be worked in to SF4 no probs. A young up and comming boxer. Hell he's older then Ryu and Ken aint he?

Glad to see they added Rose to the roster, but it's a bit unfortunate that none of the SF3 characters made it. Possible hidden characters ? icon_smile.gif (doubt it but can't say I'm too dissappointed with the current roster).

Cool roster, much bigger than the one I played with in the arcades in Tokyo a few months back.

Can't wait to play this at home, each time I played it in the arcades, some random Japanese dude would always challenge me from another machine (connected by wi-fi) and always kick my ass! icon_mad.gif

There will be more characters, in form of DLC packs. I was kinda hoping Ibuki would be in there... awww.

Thought I would revive this thread with some new info about the Madcatz Street Fighter IV peripherals.

http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_ss_vg?url=search-alias%3Dvideogames&field-keywords=Street+Fighter+IV+MadCatz&x=0&y=0

I'm liking the look of the Tournament stick, but I know I'll just mod out the Sanwa parts for Seimitsu parts straight away, so pretty much wasting money on those parts and paying lots for a bigger case (compared to the regular ed stick - which uses Madcatz parts).

Can we get the topic changed to be the Official Street Fighter IV thread?

Hey Eggy what do you think of X-arcades? They are a bit pricey but seem quite nice.

My cousin picked up a twin one for around 220 but the only thing is you need different adapters for ps3/360/wii.

Are Seimitsu buttons better than Sanwa? what makes them better?

cheers.

I personally do not like X Arcade, as they are trying to simulate the US branded HAPP arcade parts, but are not at the same level of quality, but you still pay out the wazoo for an X Arcade.

Actually Sanwa parts are technically superior to Seimitsu parts in terms of sensitivity. Both can also take the same level of wear and tear (unless you get the more robust Sanwa buttons, but they cost double). Sanwa are also the official parts used in the Street Fighter IV cabs in Japan, so if you're after the exact japanese arcade feel than Sanwa is the way to go.

My personal preference though is to Seimitsu, as I have previously used Sanwa parts and didn't like them. The Seimitsu buttons have a little bit more resistance, and come in more colour combinations and styles. Pretty much the Sanwa buttons are so sensitive they have an almost feather touch to them - just brush them lightly and they will activate. The big difference for me was in the stick. The Sanwa stick uses micro switches, which the stick shaft presses. Seimitsu uses micro switches with levers, so the stick shaft presses the lever which then presses the micro switch. I know it doesn't sound like much difference, but trust me, it made a world of difference to me when executing special moves. To me the Sanwa stick feel looser with a longer throw, while the Seimitsu feels a little tighter (not as tight as a US HAPP stick though - they are those big bat style sticks), and also has a shorter throw (throw meaning the maximum distance from the centre position when moving the stick in a direction).

SFIV has a bit of that clunky 3D fighter feel to it, but overall its a solid fighter. I really want to compare SFIV to Super Turbo HD Remix. Lots of people I know think SFIV is a really upgraded version of Super Turbo.

I reckon after people play HD Remix and get use to the speed, they will think SFIV feels slow.
