*sigh* I think I have this pre-ordered at a JB near my house... I say think because the girl seemed like an idiot and only WROTE DOWN the order. I don't know how JB works but that seems mighty odd to me.
I can't go there today even if they get it because by they close before I even leave work, so I'm going to try and go to another JB Hi Fi at lunch today and see if they have any collectors editions and a spare extra mission card to give me, if not I'll wait till tomorrow night and cross my fingers that girl actually did order it.
All that aside, if JB sell the standard edition for $100 or less I'll probably just get that. I only ordered special for extra missions but they arent worth a third of the games price again, no sir. _________________

Call em.
I always forget what EB I've pre-orderd stuff at and ring around to find out. You just need to give em your name and they can check for ya.

Zomgosh. I guess no special edition for me then. I'm not paying an extra $40 for four extra missions. $10 a mission? No. Fleeping. Way.
Now just have to hope I can find it at Big W or JB in my lunch break in an hour and a bit. I will keep you all posted for no apparent reason! _________________

I tried both JBs and Big W in the melbourne CBD but no luck - ended up trying Dungeon Crawl on my way back to work and bingo, Far Cry 2 360 is in my hands. They had PC on the shelf and 360 was behind the desk (I asked for it). I imagine they have PS3 too so if anyone is in the area - flock now my pretties! _________________

it's just "immersive".
i'm not 100% sure, but sounds like you're combining immersive with merciful, with entertaining results. _________________

I absolutely love not viewing any images, previews or videos of games until the day before a game gets released. 50sq km of open-world terrain based from actual locations in Africa? Yes please. I didn't enjoy Far Cry on consoles at all as it was too linear. Quite happy with the supposed single-player length as well, and the map editor was definitely expected.
Never really enjoyed class-based multiplayer, so will be interesting to see how that turns out for me. Shouldn't be much of a problem though as I've played more Far Cry multiplayer than every other shooter combined. Pity I can't play it for a while

I'm a noob lol......Sorry for the spelling error, basically meant the game is huge and you get immersed into the world etc. _________________

Damn you all! I tried EB, JB and GAME at Westpoint Blacktown and all told me it was coming out tomorrow.
Actually the guy at EB told me he had it, he went to go get it and then had a change of heart or something and told me to come back tomorrow _________________

Um what?
I got my copy today from EB Games Blacktown Westpoint @ 4:36pm.
At first the guy was like just come back tomoz, then he went to the back and the manager told him that they received a message that it is OK to sell.
I am liking this game though I cant seem to blow up cars like in COD4. _________________

EB had it on the shelves today so I did my duty to pick up a copy. I've already got one on pre-order, but the tool I bought it off claims he wont be shipping stock until two-three weeks from now. Screw that.
I've been playing it all afternoon and its pretty fun. Seems a bit shallow and straightforward, which is the only gripe. Every mission is pretty much "go to A, collect X, and return to B", but the trip there is fun.
Fire is AWESOME. I didn't think it all that special initially, but one moment had me laughing. I got myself a nice perch looking down at a small hut. Took out one of the guards and the other *******-sprint into the hut for cover. He wouldn't come out.
So I snuck down there while he hid inside and caked the entire area in flame. He yelled, he screamed, he ran, he copped a rifle round to the face as he attempted to flee and I let him burn along with the grass.
Cool! _________________
