Artist: The Butterfly Effect
Album: Final Conversation of Kings
So far, only heard it a couple of times, it's very very good. Really loving the guitar riffs they've got going. Could be their best yet. _________________

I should be getting my copy either Monday or Tuesday, preordered through JB's website. I cannot wait, I love TBE and more music from them can only be a good thing.

Did you get a bonus for pre-ordering?
I'm sure you'll love this album man, I've had it going a couple more times, the whole thing sounds great. At this point I particularly like In These Hands, I love the intro to it and it just has this wicked energy. Probably going to be one of my favourite albums this year. _________________

Nah, I missed out on the signed copies, which I'm peeved about (seeing as I got a signed Sharing Space and Universes, would have been nice to have a TBE one as well).

That's unlucky, having local bands do signed copies has been a pretty good offer from JB I reckon. I got Gyroscopes CD signed by them, but keep forgetting to log on to see what's coming up. a signed copy of this would be good, although the album cover is pretty awesome, so don't know if I'd want it covered in pen.
Anyway.. I look forward to hearing your thoughts on the cd. _________________

Artist: Children of Bodom
Album: Blooddrunk
Heard this off my Gf's ipod the other day, and remembered that the guys in IRC had recommended it, so went and got it. Such a good listen. I do prefer it much to the really rough sound of other metal. _________________

Artist: Tiësto
Song: Just Be (Feat. Kirsty Hawkshaw)
Not normally a fan of Tiësto, but this song is made enjoyable by Kirsty's vocals. Pappy lyrics, and rather generic production, but it works.

The new butterfly effect album sounds exactly like I thought it would. Every song has a slow bit, 'hard' bit, then fade, this is not new, we need a change of tempo. Mix it up a little. I find the riffs cheesy and lyrics immature. In comparison to other recent 3rd album releases (Kings of Leon), you can tell that they have not grown as a band at all. Rather it's just a better produced first album with redundant background music. I read an interview with the band and they are having to do a backtrack, which quite amuses me.
I've always been a fan of them, partly because they're from Brisbane and everyone likes to be a part of a local scene. But shit, I just realised how I can't stand them anymore.

Been listening to the Grafton Primary album called Eon... OH YAY! It's awesome!
They were just as good to see live, Really loving it. It's hard to describe, it kinda sounds like a mix between The Presets and David Bowie...? I don't know, anyway, DO LISTEN! _________________

I'm listening to Rockabye Baby! Lullaby Renditions of Nine Inch Nails
It's surprisingly well done and adds a certain degree of creepiness to songs that were already quite creepy...
I found the CD inside a random torrent. It's the most amazing thing in the world really.
I'm going to buy all these CD's when I have kids. I'll listen to them myself, they're just beautiful. lol.
I know it seems like I only listen to music related to Nails, but that's not the case, I promise.. _________________

ALSO, I had a question, when a song title is like this:
Crystal Castles vs Klaxons - Atlantis to Interzone
Does that only mean that the Crystal Castles are doing a remix of a Klaxons song. Or are the Klaxons and the Crystal Castles actually both singing that song together???
So I guess what I'm trying to ask is, is this title:
Crystal Castles vs Klaxons - Atlantis to Interzone
and
Klaxons - Atlantis to Interzone (Crystal Castles Remix)
The same thing???? |
Typically when the signature of vs. is included between two songs this insinuates that the song is a masshup, i.e. two original songs playing concordantly.
This song you're referring to is indeed:
Klaxons - Atlantis to Interzone (Crystal Castles Remix)
and is a tremendous song from a bit over a year ago. I have much love for CC, if you also like them give lovers who uncover, air war and crimewave a go, a few of the groups most popular songs.
you can get them by subscribing to the the streetparty podcast (google it) as they are a Canadian group (from memory) with strong ties to WOW and previously pogo/ that melbourne music scene.
As for me, currently I'm listening to a few sets from the bloody beetroot's, some 2 many DJ's sets(Soulwax) and specifically ladyhawk - paris is burning (Cut copy remix) as well as older stuff like jean-michael jare - Oxygen (part IV mostly). good music atm. _________________

One of my favourite songs from U2. The lyrics might be rather generic, but the atmosphere and composition of the song are magnificent. I never get tired of listening to it, either. _________________
